                      A:

Hi, Danielle! Since the Root Cover Up is temporary, you can always remove the product with a wet towel. If you are more susceptible to staining, we recommend applying a light layer of petroleum jelly around the hairline and at the nape of the neck to easily wipe any stain. We also recommend spraying at least 4-6 inches away from the scalp and if you apply in layers, wait a few minutes for the product to dry before applying another layer. Once you applied the product, brush out any excess. We hope this helps!

Hello! We are sorry you are experiencing a buildup of Root Cover Up. Although we have not tested any of our shampoos to remove buildup specifically, Root Cover Up shouldn't be difficult to remove as long as you are thoroughly washing it out each time after use. We recommend leaving a shampoo on your scalp for a few minutes before rinsing! We hope this helps!

Hello Meg! A lot of hair colors have PPD in them. If this is a concern to you we would recommend performing a strand test before using our products. Another option is to consult your doctor if you have a sensitivity to PPD. We hope this information helps you!

                      A:

Red hair can be a bit tricky. In your case you could go with either the Root Cover Up in the Red or the Light Golden Brown. Depending on how much red appears in the color you normally use on your hair, the Red may be fine. If unsure, opt for the Light Golden Brown. Since the gold has some warmth, it may appear more like a reddish brown on your roots and blend nicely with the rest of the hair.

Hi Bob! Since this isn't a dye, it does not matter if the hair is clean. However, since this product washes out with the next shampoo, it would make more sense to use it after shampooing.

                      A:

Matching red shades can be a challenge. For hair as light as your, we think the shade light/ medium blonde is the best option. It will have the gold needed to blend your roots with the red gold in the rest of the hair.
