My hair is thin and greying so when my roots start to grow out, it looks especially thin. This is a great temporary touchup to disguise the shiny scalp areas quickly. Washes off easily with shampoo.

I love that I am able to use a product to reduce the appearance of the my balding scalp. The only down fall about this product is that since it is touching my scalp it tends to get oily. I just bloat the visible oily spots throughout the day if necessary.

Hello Nicole! We offer a red shade in the Root Cover Up. Since we cannot see you it is very difficult for us to recommend a specific one, but the red shade seems to be the most similar to what your describing.

                      A:

Red hair can be a bit tricky. In your case you could go with either the Root Cover Up in the Red or the Light Golden Brown. Depending on how much red appears in the color you normally use on your hair, the Red may be fine. If unsure, opt for the Light Golden Brown. Since the gold has some warmth, it may appear more like a reddish brown on your roots and blend nicely with the rest of the hair.

Hi Bob! Since this isn't a dye, it does not matter if the hair is clean. However, since this product washes out with the next shampoo, it would make more sense to use it after shampooing.

I color my hair strawberry blond and I need a root touch-up to cover the gray when color starts washing out. So far, all the red root touch-ups are too dark. Suggestions?

                      A:

Matching red shades can be a challenge. For hair as light as your, we think the shade light/ medium blonde is the best option. It will have the gold needed to blend your roots with the red gold in the rest of the hair.

                      A:

To cover grays in the roots with the Root Cover Up we think the shade dark brown is your best option. The red shade is much lighter than the deep burgundy brown 36 and would not blend well with the rest of your hair. The dark brown is a very dark shade, but so is the shade you currently use.

In the Root Cover Up the shade medium is probably your best choice. You could use the light brown and still cover the gray, but the roots may look a bit lighter than the rest of the hair.
