Most Helpful Positive Review Gentle enough for chemo skin! I am currently being treated for leukemia, and chemo is really harsh on my skin. I get rashes and scabs and my skin dries and peels. My skin has also become super sensitive all over, so I've had to stop using my regular products and find something gentler. I remembered using Clinique when I was younger and how gentle it was, so I looked through their products and found this. The balm helps with moisture, which I then kick up a little bit with the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. The best part is that when my scalp started to get dry (no hair the past couple months), I just applied this to my scalp and like I do to my face and I get a clean scalp that's ready for a moisturizer too. I know this is meant to take off make up and to follow up with the 3-step system, but this gets my skin so clean and fresh feeling that I use it as a face cleanser all on its own. There are lots of little things that come from treatment that are just a reminder that the cancer is there, like pain and sensitivity. I really like that I can depend on this to help me feel normal, at least when I wash my face.
Most Helpful Critical Review Refuses to remove eyeliner and mascara I have been using Clinique for over 30 years, and noticed a lot of changes (and not very positive ones at that). "Take the Day Off," in the old days was only sold as a liquid and did a great job! Now, I have both liquid and cream and neither removes non waterproof mascara or eyeliner. You'd have to rub your skin off to get it off and I really don't get all the positive reviews. Clinique needs to step up and either find the old ingredients used in their products that made them work or really go back to the drawing board!

Love this product because it goes on like butter and begins to remove all kind of make up. It's good on sensitive skin types and allergy prone skin.
Con is that it doesn't remove it entirely and you will have to use a face was to remove all the gunk.
I bought this like 1 year ago and just had to replace.
Underperforms for that price 1

Does not fully remove eye makeup.
Was wearing illamasqua liquid liner and benefit they're real mascara.
Applied per instructions, it did smudge and smear eyeliner and mascara, however, it took a second application to remove 95% of it.
I'll find something else, this product is a bust for me.
Best. Remover. Ever! 5

I use a penny size amount to get rid of EVERYTHING. Primer, foundation, powder, blush, contour, shadow, waterproof liner, waterproof mascara, matte lipstick, everything. GONE. I used to scrub my lashes off with makeup wipes trying to get the job done and wondered why my skin and lashes looked awful. This is seriously the best. And a jar lasts FOREVER! I've been using it daily for two months and have barely made a dent. It rinses off clean and doesn't irritate the skin. So worth the price, I've saved a bundle on makeup wipes already.
Best makeup remover EVER 5

This is seriously the best makeup remover I've ever used. I always use waterproof mascara, and this just makes it melts off. I also have very sensitive skin and never have any issues with this product or any by Clinique for that matter. Can't recommend enough!

I really wanted to like this product.... It says none-drying but it dried out my skin really bad and makes if feel terrible. I gave it two stars because at least is takes off my makeup... i think you could find a better product for a lot cheaper that gets the job done and doesn't make your skin feel terrible
Seriously sensitive and blemish prone skin 3

I tried using this on my entire face for the whole double cleanse craze that's got everyone all a'flutter these days . But sadly it broke me out in zits of various sizes. I did end up keeping it though because it is really good for removing eye makeup and lipstick.
Love it! 5

Always take off all my make up, even hard waterproof mascara! Love it worth the price. You only need a small amount so you get a lot for the price!
Answer to my dry winter skin! 5
Shana from Bethlehem, PA
This product is like two in one. After it melts in your finger tips you message it in and it does an amazing job of cleansing and then moisturizing! Just what my skin needed this winter.
Best 1st step remover 5

I'm on my 4th jar of this product and cannot get enough. I have dry sensitive skin and have never had any type of issue with this balm. Lifts everything off my skin quickly without having to work it forever. Adding a little water in your palm helps its go on even smoother!

This product does not take off eye makeup completely. Disappointed.

I bought this after hearing everyone rave about how its the best cleansing balm. I am so disappointed, it fails in every category for me. It takes about 3xs the amount to do the job of other balms, I have to aggressively scrub forever to get my eye makeup to budge. If this gets into my eyes it blurs my vision and burns. After I use this I have so much eye liner and mascara around my eyes I have to do a triple cleanse! There are better products out there like Banilla Zero, even e.l.f makes a better cleansing balm than this one.
Good at removing face makeup just don't get it near ur eyes 3

I have oily skin that is prone to cystic acne so I have to watch what I put on my face. This did not break me out which I loved. The issue I have with this product is that it irritates my eyes. When I take off my eye makeup it leaves my eyes cloudy.
Doesn't seem to do much 3

Doesn't make things better or worse. I think there are better products on the market.

It is so bad for the environment has plastic in it, the Clean it zero is way better!!
I like it.... 4

So, I had to try this when it was half off because of all of the hype. It works well as the first step of my 2-step cleansing process. I was pleasantly surprised that it took off most my black eye liner/glue. It's a huge size that will probably last a year. However, this smells like and has the same exact consistency of Crisco shortening. I have a product that I really like that works just as well, is slightly cheaper, and smells like rosemary oil. I would prefer that my loved product came in this solid form, but for now, I'll be sticking with my go-to.
This is the only one I will ever buy 5

A great balm that takes off my waterproof mascara and eyeliner without leaving a greasy feeling after using it. I don't like the fact that if I'm not cautious and it gets in my eye then it blurs my vision but does not burn just blurs it.
I love this product... will be buying again 5

I love the way this makes my skin feel and how easily it takes off my makeup/sunscreen!
It's just okay 3

This product works about as well as Pond's cold cream but smells awful. For the price point, I definitely expect more. It was recommended to me by a beauty consultant inside Ulta after I told her my beloved Elemis cleansing balm was out of stock. I did not request fragrance free products and did not realize it was, until I opened the package at home. I'm currently mixing this product with Elemis, which has lavender aromatherapy in it, which makes it more appealing. I have buyers remorse on this product, unfortunately.
Great, too pricey though 5

Love this makeup remover but I don't always repurchase because it is kind of pricey. After I finish this tub I have, I'll probably repurchase the Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm.
In Love But.. 4

I just got this product today and used it tonight to take off my makeup and it worked wonders expect for getting off my waterproof mascara.
Best cleansing balm I've ever used 5
Ada from SoCal
I use this as an oil cleanser & the oil plugs/ dead skin slip right out of my pores & onto my hands. A little goes a long way so it lasts & it rinses off easily. It keeps its slip so I can go over my entire face for an hour if I want to without it "drying out"/ absorbing into my skin. It's truly amazing. The best one I've ever used
Not in love 3
Katy from Powder Springs, GA
I purchased this at the recommendation of an employee specifically for mascara removal. Unfortunately, I'm not loving it for that. What I end up having to do is make one pass, rub and rub, rinse it off, and then do it again. I don't find it super efficient, especially since my mascara isn't even waterproof. I will say, as much as I'm focusing on my eyes, it does NOT irritate, which is definitely a plus.
Second Time Buying 5
Alison from Louisville KY
I have sensative skin and acne prone. I always have a strong reaction to face washes if I use them on a twice a day sometimes just daily basis. I have updated my skin care regime to use this morning and twice at night (first to remove makeup, second to cleanse). It's gentle enough to not upset my skin so I'm able to apply toner serums ect afterwards but not so gentle that I feel it isn't effective. Second purchase!
Love this 5
Clarissa from Minneapolis
I double cleanse, and love balms as my first cleanse. This one is a new favorite. Gently removes all my makeup, with barely any effort. Will buy again.
Favorite cleansing balm 5
KrysM from Scranton, PA
This is hands down my favorite balm cleanser. It removes a full face of makeup without any scrubbing or tugging at my skin, and it rinses so clean that if I was being lazy, I feel like I could get away with not following up with a second cleanser. It's awesome for stubborn/waterproof SPF's too. The downside, it's not great for those really waterproof mascaras. It loosens them, it just doesn't get them all the way off. For those types I always use an oil cleanser to reduce tugging and pulling at my eye area. I've tried so many cleansers, makeup removers, cloths, etc, and I always come back to the Clinique balm.
