Most Helpful Positive Review Gentle enough for chemo skin!
I am currently being treated for leukemia, and chemo is really harsh on my skin. I get rashes and scabs and my skin dries and peels. My skin has also become super sensitive all over, so I've had to stop using my regular products and find something gentler. I remembered using Clinique when I was younger and how gentle it was, so I looked through their products and found this. The balm helps with moisture, which I then kick up a little bit with the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. The best part is that when my scalp started to get dry (no hair the past couple months), I just applied this to my scalp and like I do to my face and I get a clean scalp that's ready for a moisturizer too. I know this is meant to take off make up and to follow up with the 3-step system, but this gets my skin so clean and fresh feeling that I use it as a face cleanser all on its own. There are lots of little things that come from treatment that are just a reminder that the cancer is there, like pain and sensitivity. I really like that I can depend on this to help me feel normal, at least when I wash my face.
Most Helpful Critical Review Refuses to remove eyeliner and mascara
I have been using Clinique for over 30 years, and noticed a lot of changes (and not very positive ones at that). "Take the Day Off," in the old days was only sold as a liquid and did a great job! Now, I have both liquid and cream and neither removes non waterproof mascara or eyeliner. You'd have to rub your skin off to get it off and I really don't get all the positive reviews. Clinique needs to step up and either find the old ingredients used in their products that made them work or really go back to the drawing board!
Reviewed by 2196 customers Best makeup remover, gently melts it away!
Heather from Bismarck, ND
I use this cleansing balm to remove my makeup. It seriously melts all of my makeup away, even waterproof eye makeup! The smooth balm gently breaks down the makeup without harsh rubbing or abrasive makeup removing towelettes. I'm a 31 yr. old woman and master aesthetician, my eye area is easily irritated by any kind of rubbing motion, it always has been, and that's also not doing any of us favors in the anti-aging department -- tugging at your skin, especially the delicate eye area! I've tried many different methods of makeup removal in the past -- towelettes, cotton rounds, cold creams, micellar water, etc.! I've found that the best method of use for me is to use this as a double cleanse and remove the balm with my super soft Makeup Eraser or Face Halo and then follow up with my favorite facial cleanser and normal nightly skincare routine!
Note: (I've heard some people say they break out or it leaves them feeling greasy!) It's meant to be used as a double cleanse! I can't stress this enough. Happy cleansing!
The best makeup remover I have ever tried!
MJ from MN
It is incredible and economical. Just a small amount takes off a day's worth of makeup. I also use Clinique's eye makeup remover that is also very gentle but effective.
It's a keeper!

As part one of your double cleanse routine as product is oily initially. Great for removing eye makeup including mascara and rest of makeup on the face. Does work for waterproof makeup. Try not to open eyes while using. May dry out eyes if it gets into the eye.

Love this product !
Angie from Los Angeles, CA
I am never using makeup wipes anymore! I use this product to double cleanse/ makeup remover. It's so lightweight, gets rid of all the makeup and dirt off of your face so easily and does not have a fragrance. I highly recommend this product! It didn't break out my skin and leaves me feeling super clean afterwards.

It's magic, y'all!!!! Love this product so much!

most have for removing make up! I throw a little bit of this all over my face before entering the shower at night and my make up comes right off. There is hardly any make up residue on the towel I use to dry my face, as there sometimes would be more residue with other cleansers. Additionally, my skin looks so radiant and healthy after using it and the radiance lasts until the following day. I have dry skin for reference.

This is one of my must haves! I love taking off my makeup at the end of the day with this. It feels so nice on skin and gets the makeup off.
I would buy this product again

Use it as my 1st step to cleanse skin of sunscreen and long wearing makeup
Feels great on my skin

This stuff removed my foundation so well and felt so great on my skin. Just felt like a cream and didn't harm my skin in anyway. It was also easy to clean off when I was done
best cleansing balm

I have tried a lot of cleansing balm and cleansing oils. A LOT. Every time I try a different one I always go back to this. The things that set it apart: 1. It works really well. This removes foundation, eyeliner, mascara, sunscreen, everything. I get a pea sized amount on dry hands, rub it all over my face, and it turns into an oil consistency and dissolves everything. If I am taking a shower at night I'll just hop in the shower with an oily face and rinse everything off in there. If I wore a lot of makeup that day I'll need to take a damp microfiber washcloth and gently wipe everything away. Works perfectly.
2. It is not the cheapest one I have tried, but it is the best value for one that actually works. You get a ton of it at 3.8 oz.
3. NO FRAGRANCE. I do not understand why other brands put heavy scents in any product, but especially in a cleansing balm type product. This has no scent.
Love it from Georgia
One of the best makeup removers I ever used.
Works so well!
Kathleen from Chicago
This product does such a great job removing make-up and sunscreen! In terms of product use, a little goes a long way. The only thing I don't like about the product is the way it smells.
I really like this!
Ariana from Florida
It's a good balm and makes my skin feel good after using it. It takes off makeup really well.
Nicole from DE
I've used so many cleansing balms, even bought the 38 then I met you balm, tried the drunk elephant and the rest are just a joke. I don't realize how good this is until I try something else. This takes off all traces of eye makeup. YOU HAVE TO RUB IT ON DRY FACED WITH DRY HANDS, massage gently for 20 seconds , wash off with warm water, follow with you second cleanser and every single this is gone. Can't find anything better
Love this makeup remover!

This is an awesome makeup remover for general face makeup. I use Take The Day Off for Lashes for my waterproof mascara, and this little beauty for everything else! It is so easy to use, it just glides on with a cotton round, and takes everything right off in one swipe! For those that think this is greasy, well, yes it is, but I always wash my face after I remove my makeup, so do that and you are good! I used to not bother with a separate makeup remover, but this one is worth getting, it is so gentle on the face...I'm so glad I discovered it!
Saved my acne prone skin
Ash from NY
I have very sensitive acne prone skin. I use this to remove makeup and even just as a precleanse before using my cleanser on days I am not wearing makeup. It has saved my skin. I have less pimples then ever before. I used to have at least 5 on my face at all times and since introducing this product I will only have 1 or two very small pimples, most of the time my face being completely clear.
Rebzki from San Joaquin Valley
It is very lightweight once it starts to melt onto the skin and become silky smooth. Also it take off my mascara, eyebrow product and sunscreen gentle compared to makeup wipes. No fragrance.
Liked it but not worth it
Tina from Wi
This was alright but if you wear a lot of makeup, this does NOT get the job done really. After looking at the ingredients and looking at reviews online, this contains small amounts of PLASTIC in it. No thanks.
Best cleansing balm
Ky Girl from Lexington, KY
I use this as the first step in my double cleanse. It easily removes makeup and sunscreen. I have tried other makeup removers but they irritate my eyes (I wear contacts). TTDOCB doesn't bother my contacts at all. The tub lasts me for about a year- worth the cost.
Pretty Good Make-up Remover
Darcy from IL
This is a good product for removing make-up at night. Feels clean and doesn't leave anything behind. The ONLY negative is it doesn't remove my waterproof eyeliner. I normally use Farmacy Green Clean and that stuff gets everything off. This isn't quite as good, but it's still pretty good. I can get the eyeliner off with my make-up remover pad (similar to a MakeUp Eraser cloth), so it's not a huge deal.
A must have
Rae from Texas
I was kinda unsure about using this at first, normally I use remover wipes, but this product is now one of my must haves when traveling.
Vaseline is better
anonymous from stp, mn
I gave it two stars because it does the job but it will definitely blind you for a good couple of minutes. it leaves a residue in my eye where I have to spend more time flushing out my eyes rather than washing my face. Vaseline works the same but doesn't make you blind.
The Search is Over

I have searched forever to find something to remove my mascara. I've tried most of the top brands and types of removers. The associate at Ulta reccomended this, and it works like magic! Apply a little, gently rub in thoroughly, let sit a minute, rub again and rinse. All that mascara is gone! I hope they never change or stop selling this.
