Most Helpful Positive Review Tanning salon spray tan addict gone rogue Hello! Okay, first of all I owned a day spa for five years. Just sold it last year. We actually pioneered the airbrush spray tan on our city, and became the #1 highest rated salon for airbrushes in the area. I am an expert at training and at spraying. And yes- I even spray myself and have an entire airbrush system I spent way to much on in my master bathroom. Fast forward to February 2019. I had a baby, and my husband and I are bombarded with work and crazy schedules. There's absolutely no time to get a tan. Let alone even spray myself. After all that takes 20 mins from start to finish, your sticky, and it's just too much with a newborn! No thanks. My spray tan machine at home has been collecting dust. I saw an ad on Instagram about Bondi sands. So I was impressed and went on you tube and did a search. Is this stuff for real? Is it's really THAT easy & quick? I was skeptical. After watching countless reviews I caved and ordered my very first foam and glove from BS. My order came and I got in a tank and shorts and just went for it. WOW. Did I just apply my tan to one leg perfectly with no streaks in 30 seconds??? Next leg. What?? Is this stuff for real? Then I yelled into the other room and had my husband come look. Babe, are you seeing this? My entire legs and feet took a minute flat?!!??????? LIFE CHANGE. What!!!!!!! My entire tan took me 4 mins. FOUR MINUTES. Let me say that again.......... F O U R. M I N U T E S. It is the exact same results I saw from my norvell home machine and norvell pro products I charged customers 50$ for a single session. Bondi Sands is for REAL. And I am a forever client. I got the “dark” foam and am very pleased. It's dark but not super fake looking, and one coat is all you need for the perfect tan. It's March 3rd now and I am selling my home spray tan set up all thanks to the convenience and amazing Bondi product!
Most Helpful Critical Review Barely a Difference in My Fair Skin I was so excited to hear that Bondi Sands is now being offered in U.S. drugstores. How couldn't I be when this self-tanning foam is hyped up on the internet and has super impressive reviews and before/after pics? I spent $35 with the mitt included (which is a little pricey for drugstore). I have very fair, pink-toned skin. It applied a little streaky even in the areas I had covered, but I read from other reviewers it would wash right off after a shower, but this turned out not to be true nor the only problem. I applied a generous amount of Bondi Sands after exfoliating, shaving, and moisturizing dry areas like ankles, knee caps, and elbows (I have dry skin). I slept in it (it does leave a pinky residue on clothing or covers (before rinsing off) and washed it off (gently patted skin, no harsh rubbing or soaps) the morning after expecting to look like a bronzed Barbie, but saw VERY little change as compared to my face, which I left bare (I tried applying this on my face once and ended up with emphasized dry patches and pores/weird olive color. Use Bondi in your facial moisturizer instead of applying directly if this product works for you). I haven't read many other reviewers who've had the same experience, which makes me highly suspicious considering I did everything the directions called for and more. I used this once before and had the same result, but thought that I might've not used enough product, so this last time I applied a good amount. No good, same result. On a better note, the smell is delicious like coconuts and is pretty strong, so if you have a big sensitivity to fragrance, this may not be the tanner for you. This isn't an everyday gradual tanner and is supposed to work within an hour and deepen if left on for longer, but I might have to reapply for 2-4 days to get the tan I expected. Hopefully this doesn't make it super streaky, which I highly believe it just may because of what I see in the slight color it gave me. I also noticed it is more visible around my scars and chest/underboob area. Super weird. Overall, I give this a 4.5/10 stars.

I've never really had a good bronzer/self tanner before that looked natural, but this one saved me big time and will continue to keep purchasing because I love it!! I got the medium brown
Worth every penny, my new favorite tanner 5

I have been looking for a tanner that isn't orange and I have finally found it. The tanner smells good and looks even better and it isn't too expensive. Worth every dollar.
Hands down, best self tanner 5

I have used a lot of tanners and I have to say this one is really good! I love the smell. It smells like coconuts. Most sunless tanners have a really bad odor. I also really like how this tanner applies. It's not streaky at all and it dries really fast and doesn't feel tacky. I will say I don't think the color is dark enough. I got the "Dark" shade and I think next time I would get the "Ultra Dark." However, I like it for the winter months since it looks more natural.
i love this 5

i'm so happy i bought this! but the only problem i've had is it makes my skin super dry and idk why, but i really love this self tanner 😊👍🏼
what a waste 1

Got dark for the colder months even though I generally use most brands' ultra dark. After leaving this on overnight, I actually laughed at how poorly this stuff works. I have seen tinting lotions that produce darker shades (I can't imagine what their light/medium looks like) and it's not buildable.
The only benefits are that it dries quickly and the smell is better than most tanning products.
Soooo much better than others I've tried 5

I religiously fake tan, I've tried a ton of different tanning foams and this WINS. I had settled on st.moriz for color & price but this stuff is SO MUCH BETTER. I got "dark" and am going to try the darker shade next. Smells INCREDIBLE and no streaks at all as well as a beautiful golden/olive color, not orange at all.
After great reviews i was Dying to try .. 3

First - i have tried every self tan St. Tropez Saint Moritz loving tan tarte, I also used to do a Norvell spray tan once a week when I lived in New York
There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to tanning
So here's my take on Bondi sands
I'm comparing it to my favorite which is loving tan
(And will continue to be after trying this )
-It dries very quickly which is good or bad depending on how you look at it - you have to work quickly but you don't need a lot of dry time
-it has a green tint so if you use St. Tropez in the past you know what I'm talking about
-I got the ultra dark and I really wasn't impressed with the color after I slept in it I'm going to do another coat and I'm not gonna throw it away because the tan isn't bad it's just not as good as my loving tan dark express
No streaks tho, smells nice going on , no orange
First time using!! So happy I bought it! 5

This product first of all is really good! It gives me a nice brown tan, not orange at all! ( I have a olive undertone) and I tan pretty easily in the sun and it looks like I just went suntanning! It's wasn't streaky, it does dry quite fast so you have to be fast with rubbing it in, I did mine before I went to bed and left it on for 12 hours and used a latex glove instead of a tanning mitt, it also a lovely coconut smell. Overall I am very glad I bought this, it's definitely worth your money!
Best self tanner I've tried 5
Sarag from Chicago, IL
I don't review things ever, But as a former all start cheerleader, I've used so so many self tanners and none of them ever seemed to work. This is the only one that has ever applied smooth everywhere (even my knees elbows and hands!)

settles streak free and looks so natural! overall super happy with it, I got the dark but will try the ultra dark next time because I like a deeper tan
My go to self tan from now on 5

Love this tanner! The color is really bronze and is natural looking. The product smells tropical and a lot like coconut which I love and my friends even comment on the scent after I apply it. This product is very easy to blend and is not splotchy. It looks really nice on my pale complexion and has me feeling confident.
This replaced my St Tropez 5
Kristen from San Francisco, CA
Before COVID I was a twice weekly spray tanner but quickly had to switch to something I could do at home. I started with St Tropez since I was familiar with it and it was good, when I ran out I decided to try something different and grabbed this. In my opinion it's way better and half the price! A no brainer. The color lasts long and continues to look really fresh even after several showers. The only issue I really had was with the smell. It's not terrible, kinda coconut like.. it just isn't the smell for me. Bottom line. Save yourself some money and go with this. The ultra dark is amazingggg!

This looks so good on everyone it has such a nice olive undertone so you NEVER look orange this will last me about a week and it wears off beautifully
I'VE BEEN USING THIS FOR 3 YEARS 5

This is my favorite self tanner by far. I always use Ultra Dark. Yes, it's a bit sticky and yes, it has that self tanner smell and yes, it will transfer to your clothes (so wear something baggy and comfy). Here are some tips... #1: exfoliate and shave one day before you tan. #2: moisturize your hands, elbows, knees, ankles, and feet. #3: apply tanner with a mitt. #4: only use a small amount on hands & feet. #5: make sure you leave it on for 6+ hours (I actually recommend longer, so I sleep with mine on to get the best results). #6: when you wash it off, ONLY USE LUKE WARM WATER & DO NOT USE SOAP FOR 24 HOURS AFTER, pat your skin dry with a towel & do not rub. #7: make sure you moisturize everyday and your tanner will last at least a week. You're welcome :)

I never write reviews on products but for this I need to make an exception. I have very pale skin and I use the ultra dark in summer and dark in the fall. This product is amazing it doesn't fade patchy the color is amazing and not orange at all. This product lasts me at least 5 days which is insane. Best tip I can give is this product doesn't blend flawlessly into hands and feet but get yourself a makeup brush to blend and that will all change!
Good color and smell.....but not for sensitive skin! 2
Kelly B from South Carolina
This develops into a nice color and isn't too bad on the smell either compared to other self tanners. However, it doesn't stay dark for very long (about 2/3 days max) and fades pretty patchy even with post tan care. My thing is that I got a nice rash everywhere especially on my legs due to shaving. If you have sensitive skin I'd pass on this!!

This is the best tanning foam I've used to date. The foam is easy to see during application to ensure you don't miss any spots. The coverage is amazing and leaves your skin perfectly, evenly bronzed. It looks very natural. Doesn't hurt that it smells nice, too! :) can't wait to order more!
