Most Helpful Positive Review Amazing!
I have VERY coarse, thick dry hair that gets frizzy easily. I read reviews about this flat iron and decided I just HAD to try it. I walked into Ulta with a mission.....walking directly to the flat irons and searching for the GHD platinum pro. I initially couldn't find it and asked a store manager if she could help me locate it. She found it for me, but said something that really took me by surprise. She said "this is a good flat iron, but do you want to save some money? I would buy the Drybar flat iron instead. It's THE BEST". I was really shocked she recommended a flat iron that's literally half the price of the GHD. I figured she must be giving an honest opinion if she wasn't trying to sell a more expensive product. So then I was VERY indecisive and didn't know what to do. The Drybar flat iron is this bright highlighter yellow that isn't very appealing to the eye. But really all I care about is that it works well, so I looked past that. However, the raving reviews about the GHD iron was still in my head which really had me wanting to at least try it. So I did what I usually do in this situation. I bought BOTH to compare them over the next week or two. They told me it was perfectly fine to try them out and return the one I decided I didn't want. I got home and immediately wanted to try them out. So far (and this is only after one day of using them both) I would say they are both truly VERY good products. The GHD heats up in literally 10 seconds. I couldn't believe it! This thing just glides through your hair like butter! I love the way it feels in my hand and how well the plates hold on to my hair without snagging or pulling. It straightened my hair quickly and looked AMAZING after using it. And it felt really soft & healthier! I am IN LOVE with this flat iron! Although the other one works quite well also. So I'll have to update my review after using it a couple weeks. But so far the GHD is a winner in my book! It's pricey, but worth it!

I bought because it was the most expensive so I thought would be the best. The sedu and dry bar work faster. Took me so long to straighten my hair. The grip also hurt my fingers.

My stylist recommended the GHD brand to me. I bought the top of the line flat iron they offer, hoping to create nice straight hair or beautiful curls - that did not happen. I have naturally curly hair and it's semi coarse, so I need an iron that goes up to at least 400° - this one does not. This wouldn't curl or straighten my hair at all. My hair was very poofy and fluffy even with a straightening balm, heat protectant, and after going over the hair several times. I had to return this. If you have curly hair or medium thick or hair that's even a little coarse, don't even waste your time on this. This iron does not go above 360°. Get a product with higher temp options!

I bought this after my babyliss went out after 4 years. I did research before purchasing it, it said it was better than the babyliss. However I don't agree. I returned it 5 days later. It took so long to straighten my hair and then it made my ends so burned. It felt like it was snagging my hair, I ended up just getting a babyliss again. Not worth it, plus it only has one heat setting, maybe it works better for thin hair. I have thick hair & a lot of it. Giving it a two star just because it was nice to look at.
Best straightener I've ever used
Maddie from Evansville, IN
I have had a 10 year old chi straightener that just went out and was looking for a new straightener when my hair stylist told me to look into the ghd. I used this for the first time the other day and it definitely passed the one pass through straighten test for me. I do have fine wavy/straight hair so I always worry about frying my hair even more, but I feel like this straightener uses less heat by only having to pass through once to get the job done, very impressed! Hoping this straightener lasts as long as my chi did!

I have average sized hands, and this tool is extremely uncomfortable to hold. The heat setting isn't adjustable, and the current heat setting didn't do an adequate job of straightening my hair and I only have minor waves in mine. Also it didn't straighten my hair nicely, it actually made it curl under a lot, not the look I was going for. No idea how women with curls could even find it effective since it barely will straighten my hair. They also only have a 21 day return policy, they give you an extra two weeks if you purchased it over Christmas to 1/31. For something this expensive, you would think you'd at least have a 90 day policy, and they won't make any exceptions.
Sadly, left you hair nice for the three first times
Andre from Fairfield, CT
Sadly, left you hair nice for the three first times after that works like any regular hair straightener.
I can not returned because have my name engraved so I am trying to get my money back with my credit card company.
The new one from GHDhair.com do not come any more with the reset Botton in the plug ,
just make me think if they are cutting cost in that ......?I am sure they are cutting cost in everything.
and why I can't return my engraved one , GHD is reselling returns as new?
Don't waist your time or money and better get a Dyson
I have my Dyson hair dryer and wrap, and Dyson company never give me any problem
so, my next hair straightener will be a Dyson
kristinleigh122 from Seymour CT
this glides through my hair. for reference, I have naturally wavy medium hair. I had gotten so many compliments the first day. I was told my hair looks healthy and shiny. I was using my T3 single pass before. didn't receive compliments while using that one. very happy I splurged on this.
Straight results but dried the ends too much
Married lady from Alabama
Hair was straight and soft. It got really hot. It took two passes to get results. Hair was really straight, but more ends felt damaged and dry.
Worth the money!!
Danielle from Bloomington,IN
I was between this and the Dyson straightener and am so glad I went with the GHD! It heats up in less than 10-15 seconds and is so smooth on my hair that I only have to make one pass where with any other straightener I've used I've had to make multiple passes to get my hair straight. This is so worth the money!

I enjoy using this and having my hair stay straight for two days. I don't have any flyaways or frizziness even on a rainy day.
I love this styler.

Easy to use and smooth style that lasts all day. Just purchased one for my daughter for Christmas 😊

Can't say enough about this flat iron. Was torn between this & the Dyson - would recommend this to anyone looking for a great tool. Heats up so quickly and I do not need to worry about the right temperature as it takes care of that. Hair is left looking smooth!
I like it alot but it pulls my hair :(

I split my hair in 4 areas and iron.
Best straightener I've had!
Coliee from Kenosha
I was so sad when my previous straightener of almost 10 years finally died. But I'm glad it did because I never would have found this GHD straightener!
It heats ups faster than I can section my hair into two sections and straightens it so well!
Arrow from Boston
I have waist length, fine textured but very thick wavy hair and am experienced with flatironing. After hearing buzz about this tool and watching several online reviews, I decided to try it. It's fabulous. my hair is smooth and glossy without any product, and didn't get fried. I also didn't have to go over sections more than once, so it was faster than with the Chi iron I've been using for years. This is the best iron I've ever used, beats my beloved old Solano Sapphire and the Chi hands down. Heats up FAST and is also the only iron that can successfully curl my hair as well. Getting rid of my old standbys, this is the new standard.
THE straightener everyone needs
Aprmn from Saint Paul, MN
I use this most days just to fix flyaway hairs and weird cowlicks in my hair but it's also perfect for curling !
Returned my Dyson for this one and I'm IN LOVE
BW from Atlanta
Very light and works WONDERS on my 3C curly hair.... tried the Dyson first and couldn't be happier to have exchanged it for this one.
Lauren from Charlotte, NC
If you're thinking about buying this straightener.. DO IT! It's a game changer. Well worth the money. I have very thick hair and it keeps my hair straight all day long.
I wouldn't buy this if you have really thick/curly hair
Katy from Atlanta, Ga
I have pretty thick and curly course hair. It's only an inch or 2 under my shoulder. It didn't take me more then hour or so to straighten my hair, but when I was finished I realized it didn't even do the job all the way. And I had to go through my hair pretty slow for it to actually do anything. For the price I expected a lot better. My bed head straightener I've had for about 10 years did a better job before it started dying.
Worth every penny
HZ from NJ
I normally don't post reviews, but this straightener is with every penny.. It heats up within seconds and straightened my curly thick hair seamlessly.. I only needed one pass thru.. I have tried Chi, BaBYliss and a few others and they don't even remotely compare to this one.. Highly recommend..
Breaks after a year
Ras2020 from Tacoma, WA
Keep your receipt, this is a good straightener until it breaks about a year this is the second I buy and will not buy another. It has a 3 year warranty keep your receipt and hope GHD sends you a new one. For the price I expect to last longer.
Excellent product easy to use for a novice
Marienyc1 from New York
I am very bad as far as styling my hair and this iron is easy to use and my hair looks great and in no time . I do not like to spend much time and this is a great iron . It heats up quickly and you know it hot because of a chime . It is not damaging to my blond locks .
Lexii LooHoo from Cleveland
I was expecting this to be magical for the price, but it's nothing special. It works like any other GHD straighter. I only bought this one because Ulta's been out of the one I wanted which is half the price. Unfortunately, I will be returning as I can't justify spending this much to get the same results as a less expensive straightener.
Absolutely the best flat iron I've ever owned
CRadatz from California
I have been flattening my hair for dozens of years and have tried everything from the top of the line to hot tools, the Platinum GHD is the best, bar none. My hair looks and feels incredible!
Hot yo the touch
Astrid from GA
I bought this flat iron based on thousands of good reviews, I was counting down the days to be delivered and... I got it this morning and it disappointed me, I have wavy hair and it didn't straight my hair like my other flat iron (Sedu), the outside of this GHD gets extremely hot to the touch (I wonder if mine is defective), I tried to curl my hair (I'm an expert on making curls with a flat iron, I've done it a million times with my Sedu and my Babyliss) and I couldn't get a decent curl with this. I also noticed it pulls my hair a lot (that's the 2nd reason I think I might have gotten a defective one. .) .. I'm soooo confused! Where are all these good reviews coming from?!?!?!
Mkristinal from New York
I have no words to describe how much i love this iron. One button that turns it on and off without making me choose the temperature makes my life easier since i never know what is the best temperature for my hair type. I got it in white color and it looks and feels so luxurious, basically "Ferrari" of all the irons! My hair look and feel so good after using it. Can't go on without it.
