Our Vitamin C Toning Mist is rich in hydrating ingredients like polysaccharides and polyglutamic acid to deliver a heavy dose of moisture to parched skin. It is perfect for use on the face, neck, chest, and arms and can be used immediately after cleansing as an active-rich toner. Q
When using the Nutrient Mist in the morning, do you have to allow it to dry fully before applying the Vitamin C serum? Thanks
Asked by Briggy Stum
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out again! We recommend massaging the Nutrient Mist into freshly washed skin. Once absorbed, you can then follow with the Vitamin C Serum. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Does this product act like a toner? Or in what order should I use this in combination with other Mad Hippie products?
Asked by Lisa
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! We do not have a traditional toner in our line because all three of our cleansers are slightly acidic, meaning they do not disrupt the natural pH of the skin. Most lines that require a toner have cleansers that are alkaline, meaning that they have a high pH which strips all the natural oils from skin and raises the pH of the skin. Because healthy skin needs an acidic pH (it prevents the growth of harmful bacteria not suited to live in acidic environments), facial care lines that have alkaline cleansers often recommend following with a toner (acidic) to bring the pH of the skin back down. The Hydrating Nutrient Mist is a lovely alternative to a toner and it is rich in hydrating elements such as sodium PCA and hyaluronic acid as well as brightening elements such as milk thistle and ginkgo biloba. It is also antioxidant-rich and a great option for calming redness and irritation, while helping reduce the appearance of discoloration. We recommend applying it immediately after cleansing while the skin is still slightly damp. You can follow with a serum, moisturizer, and SPF. It can be reapplied throughout the day as needed. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Would this work as a setting spray after makeup application?
Asked by Taylor
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! We recommend massaging the Nutrient Mist into skin immediately after cleansing while skin is still slightly damp. It can be reapplied throughout the day as needed. However, it isn't intended to be a setting spray over makeup as it doesn't contain the polymers setting sprays use to set makeup. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Hello! Looking into purchasing this product. Is this a day or night product? Thanks!
Asked by Meg
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! We recommend the Nutrient Mist as part of a morning routine. It should be massaged into freshly washed skin that has been gently patted dry and followed with a serum and moisturizer. This product is also wonderful for neck, chest, and arms too! Please let us know if we can assist further! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
What is the percentage of vitamin c?
Asked by Britt
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! We do not release exact percentages of our proprietary blends, however, the vitamin C is not as concentrated as it is in our Vitamin C Serum. It is formulated for antioxidant support along with hyaluronic acid, sodium PCA, Japanese pagoda, hesperidin, and other ingredients that help even the appearance of discolored skin and help keep skin hydrated. Please let us know if we can assist further! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Even though there is already Vitamin C in this product..would I still be able to apply a Vitamin C serum afterwards??
Asked by Ally
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! The Hydrating Nutrient Mist and Vitamin C Serum contain different concentrations of vitamin C and may indeed be layered. We recommend applying the Nutrient Mist to freshly washed skin and then following with the Vitamin C Serum. Please let us know if we can assist further! Was this answer helpful to you
Q

Q
Has the formula changed? I recently bought two of these from a different well known online retailer and the texture felt thick and slightly soapy. I'm not sure if I got the real deal and I definitely don't like it. I do very much love the original product.
Asked by MARY
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! The Nutrient Mist formula has not changed, but it may help to note that our products do vary from batch to batch in color, scent, and consistency because the bulk natural ingredients that we use vary a bit depending on the season. This particular product has a high amount of hyaluronic acid - a lovely hydrating element that is quite thick and has a tough time coming out through the sprayer in a super fine mist. While this product should come out in a gentle enough spray to feel refreshing on the face, many people opt to just spray it on their hands and apply it. It is definitely a thicker spray than a hydrosol, which is mostly water without all of the active ingredients that we use. Foaming is perfectly normal. If you made your purchase outside the ULTA website, please email us directly at info@madhippie.com and we'll be happy to assist! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Is this mist has expired date on bottom of the bottle?
Asked by Sherry
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! While the Nutrient Mist has a 30-month shelf life when unopened, it should be kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and used within four months of opening for maximum efficacy. Please let us know if we can assist further! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
What is the purpose of the soy and do you offer any products sans soy?
Asked by Karen
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! The soy-derived ingredient in the Nutrient Mist is an emollient. Our products are not certified soy-free and we do use some ingredients that are sourced from soy in our line. We also do not operate a soy-free facility. If you have sensitivities to soy, it may be best to avoid our line. Please let us know if we can assist further! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Is this product safe to use before microneedling procedure to prep the skin?
Asked by Patricia
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! Microneedling can leave the skin sensitive and the pre/post care depends on skin type and also how aggressive the treatment is. If you are having it done professionally, you can always ask for recommendations on pre/post care, but typically, gentle cleansers and moisturizers, and of course sunscreen, are advised for the first couple of days and treatment serums are usually resumed after the first 48 hours. Please let us know if we can assist further! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can this product be used as part of a makeup routine as a primer water? My plan is to apply a SPF cream, this mist, an actual primer, the makeup, and then setting spray and I am wondering if this product would help the final makeup hold and look better or if using it as part of the regular skincare routine would be better.

Amazing!

First of all, I'll agree with others that this is definitely not a mist for over makeup. I'd recommend putting this on a cotton pad and then running it over your face before starting your makeup routine. This is absolutely amazing regardless of the misnomer. It keeps my face hydrated, all day. I hav...

This is not a mist

This is one of the first products I purchased from Mad Hippie along with some of the serums, I really wanted to love this but as some of the other reviews mention, this stuff comes out like a foamy jet stream. So if you're expecting a light misting spray to coat your full face, stay away. I have h...

I'm not even sure exactly why or how, but my skin is BETTER with this. More hydrated, supple, and easier to work with overall! I thought I didn't really need it and stopped using it - pretty much immediately repurchased after missing it!

I've used this on and off again for a few years. They changed the formula a year back and it's now really amazing. It used to not spray in a mist as well, but now it comes out in this fine mist. It's really hydrating for a spray and has definitely brightend my skin.

New formula is 👌🏻

By Ezze

From Los Angeles

This product changed a few months back and the new formula mists so much better. Not sure what they did but it's not a go-to every morning for me. I'll use it all over my body as it's so softening and has tons of vitamin C in it to help protect my skin.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
