- Q
Should I use this product on damp hair before blow drying and on dry hair before flat ironing?
- Asked by Jesse
- Official Answer By Redken - BEHi there! Thank you for reaching out about our Thermal Spray High Hold. For our Thermal Spray High Hold, we recommend using it on dry hair before applying any heat with styling tools like flat irons or curling irons. This allows the heat-activated polymers to properly set and provide the best hold and protection. While it's generally best used on dry hair for flat ironing, for blow-drying, you would typically use a different type of heat protectant or styling product designed for damp hair. Our Thermal Spray High Hold is specifically formulated to create a barrier and lock in style when used on dry hair just before your heat styling tool. Was this answer helpful to you

How do I get this off my mirror?
- Asked by Akshi
- Official Answer By Redken - BEHi there! We understand how upsetting it can be to accidentally stain a favorite item and we sympathize with your situation. We have researched some possible solutions, but please be aware that all surfaces are different and some will retain stains more than others. We always recommend following the manufacturer's directions on the label. Alternatively, some cleaning professionals recommend using soap and water on the item and working the lather into the stain until the stain disappears. We sincerely hope you will be able to remove the stain to your satisfaction. Was this answer helpful to you

Is this sulfate free ?

Does it matter if my hair is wet or dry when I use this product?
- Asked by Lisa
- Official Answer By Redken - BEHi there! Thanks so much for your inquiry regarding the Redken Thermal Spray High Hold! Spray on hair before styling with an iron to protect from heat up to 450F/232C degrees and lock in shape. For curling or flat irons, mist on dry hair section by section. For a roller set, mist on damp hair. Depending on hair length, 2-4 pumps per section will deliver the right amount. For damp hair application, slightly more is recommended. We hope this information and we thank you choosing Redken! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Can one use this on second or third day … or more, lol, dry hair when no thermal protectant has been used when damp? Would it be best to layer it over the 25 Benefits product (damp hair, day of washing), and then this on dry hair the same day? Days later? And is it gluten free?
- Asked by Deedle
- Official Answer By Redken - BEHi there! We appreciate your interest in our Thermal Spray High Hold. Redken's Thermal Spray High Hold is a thermal setting mist that provides max, long-lasting hold and heat protection for up to 450 degrees while adding shine, offering anti-frizz control, and providing long-staying power. We recommend to spritz a small amount on dry hair before using a flat iron or curling iron. 25 Benefits should only be used on damp have prior to blow drying. In the event that you will use a flat iron after blow drying, you can then use the Thermal Spray. Redken does not make the claim that our products are gluten free. We hope this help! Was this answer helpful to you

Not for Blow Outs, altho Ulta Salon recommended
I want to use hot rollers to set my naturally CURLY locks after blowing it out. I was looking for something to protect my hair from both blow dryer heat, AND hot roller heat. And THIS STICKY, ICKY PRODUCT was recommended by one of the women in the Salon--that's what they use. If this is what the...

Not worth it
Makes my hair super hard. Random spots of my hair sre super stiff and have to brush it out a lot. The smell is not pleasent either.
Holy grail product when used correctly
If your hair is sticky or crunchy you're not using it correctly. 1.) You can't spray your whole head at one time. You have to work in sections. You don't want the product to dry on your hair before you style. 2.) A little goes a LONG way. Just a light mist on each section. If you use too much it'll turn to cement. 3.) Use it on clean, dry, conditioned hair. (Not wet hair.) Bonus- if you need to recurl your hair, you don't have to reapply. 4.) Brush it out when you're done. It's a firm hold product. If you don't brush it out, you'll have hard barrel-like curls. If you use it this way, it's unmatched for heat curl hold. I've been heat curling my hair for 35 years (curling irons and hot rollers) and for the last 10 years, I keep coming back to this product (or its predecessor, Hot Sets).
It makes my hair hard

Didn't like . It tangles my hair and leaves it hard

Hair Type Straight Hair
I've been using this (it was formerly Hot Sets) for several years and it is a staple in my hair styling routine. I have, however, noticed the current bottle seems weaker than usual. I hope this isn't the case going forward.
