Most Helpful Positive Review I LOVE LOVE Ordinary Squalane Cleanser I have searched for years for skin care products that deliver on their promises (that is their advertised claim) and I finally found these qualities in Ordinary's Squalane cleanser. As a matter of fact I'm placing another order for 3 tubes, as I fear the possibility of it being out of stock or discontinued. I do wish they would sell this in larger size, 1.7 ounces is not enough for daily use. I have done research on Squalane and this ingredient has nothing but positive healthy claims. You wonder, what made me want to research squalane? Well....I was curious about about a popular serum/beauty oil that is on the market (I won't name the cosmetic company out of respect for the company that sells such a serum) this company sells direct through sales rep or online only, no (brick n mortar business). Long story short, this beauty oil main ingredient is Squalane!!! AND, they charge $70 bucks for it!'
This cleanser also evens out my splotchy red skin tone and no more dry flaky skin. MOST importantly...this cleanser helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles on my face!! If I go don't use this cleanser for 2 or 3 days, I notice the difference. My Uneven dry lined skin returns. This cleanser is also good for those suffering acne. Squalane is a natural anti inflammatory. My sister, who suffers acne loves O's cleanser. Huge difference for her.
Lastly, I find your daily skin care doesn't have to be copious amounts of products. After washing with Squalane cleanser, I apply Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid (no, it's not an actual acid/chemical. Not sure why they even use that word), anyway...hyaluronic brings to face/skin surface your bodys naturally occurring water to plump up (reduce lines) skin. It drys down fast, so spread evenly quickly. Next, I apply moisturizer (First Aid Beauty brand, love it!). Thirdly and last, I apply Ordinary Squalane plant derived oil over my moisturizer. This seals everything in and it also brings water into your skin via your environment, surface hydration.
Most Helpful Critical Review Just ordinary I recently popped into my local Ulta in search of a cleanser to help clear up intense maskne that my face has acquired over the past year. I have minorly sensitive, majorly dry skin that is usually clear and soft; however, wearing masks for 10+ hours a day has created a lot of redness and acne. Upon learning my skincare concerns and routine, a helpful beauty consultant immediately walked me over to check out products from The Ordinary. She said this cleanser should help clear things up in a few days, and also recommend some supplemental serums (Alpha Arbutin and Niacinamide + Zinc) to utilize in conjunction with the cleanser. I have been using this cleanser and both serums in the AM and PM for 7 days now and notice zero change in my skin; in fact, I believe these products are further drying out my already sensitive skin. After applying to dry skin and completely washing off the cleanser with warm water, my face is craving my moisturizer before I even open the bottles to both serums. I've read that some use this as a double cleanser; however, the product does not market itself as a two-step product. Additionally, the consultant told me this could be used on its own. Per recommendation from her, I mix two drops of each serum into my fingertips before applying the products over my freshly cleaned face. My skin is left super dry, thirsting for my moisturizer immediately. I also noticed that my pores appear larger and I'm experiencing more localized breakouts where maskne is already present (around the mouth, on either side of the nose, and the middle of both cheeks). I understand it takes time for new products to settle and become effective; after a full week, I'm just not really feeling these products for my skin at the moment. It's a very basic, ordinary cleanser that does indeed remove makeup and cleanse the skin. Consider double cleansing or solely using this product for thorough makeup removal.

I have normal skin. I use my Make-up Eraser for makeup removal and then the Squalene Cleanser to finish the job. I've been using the Bright Set for the past month and within the first week could tell a huge difference! Love this line of products

I have used all the high end products on the market and I would put this right up there with all the high dollar products but a fraction of the cost. the whole line is wonderful!!
This + Serums 5

I was searching for a cleanser that felt less drying on the face, but still gave that "clean" feeling, especially after a double cleanse. I have combination skin so some days my face is really dry, but will become oily throughout the day. I already had multiple serums from The Ordinary so I gave this a try and it is a great addition alongside them. My skin feels super soft after washing. It does help with removing most makeup, I would still use a quick wipe or double cleanse to get everything off, it did not help much with removing mascara though. Definitely will opt for the larger bottle once I am out and I do recommend using the moisturizer with it!
Strong to take makeup off and washes like nothing 5

It is a cream that turns into oil and washes like as if it was water. It is fabulous, this is by far the best cleanser I've used, I've tried balms, makeup remover, micellar water but nothing like this, I feel it cleans my skin without stripping its natural oils. I'm just a bit bummed out ulta doesn't carry the larger size in store.
Helped my acne so much 5

Before using this I used to use the cerave foaming face wash or a bar of African black soap. I know the cerave face wash is supposed to be good for you but the African black soap was not helping my acne whatsoever. I struggle with what I believe to be is hormonal or bacterial acne on my cheeks and chin. After starting to use this, I noticed an immediate difference. The little bumps along my cheeks started to disappear and I started to stop breaking out so much. I love love love that it doubles for a makeup remover as well. If you also struggle with acne I recommend using bio oil before any moisturizers. It has significantly faded my dark spots and allows my moisturizer to soak into my face so well. I read somewhere that Aragon oil is great for combating acne and I can tell you that it has also helped my acne immensely as well as evening out my skin tone. make sure that it is 100% Aragon oil. I get mine from the brand shea moisture although I believe the ordinary sells some too. I find that I have a perfect balance in my skin now. I would say that I have combination skin and in the winter it tends to be on the dryer and flakier side. My skin is soft and supple every day now because of this.
Had to use soooo much 2

I had to go in with a second or third application to remove makeup. It sort of dries up as you massage instead of getting looser and breaking up your makeup. Don't expect this to replace your oil cleanser for that purpose.
Love this! 5

I have sensitive skin, everything breaks me out. This cleanser is amazing!! I love how it just melts into my skin, doesn't dry it out nor break my skin out. I know everyone is different what works for me may not work for someone else with sensitive skin. I would recommend this face cleanser!!
Okay for makeup remover 3

This does a decent job of removing makeup but I would not use it as a standalone cleanser. The product does dissolve into oil pretty well.

I've used oil to remove makeup for 15 years now. Way before it was cool. I wanted to try this for a long time, but have loved the inkey list cleansing balm so much I never gave it a shot. They were out of my serum at the store & saw & grabbed on a whim. It feels nice going on. Doesn't remove makeup well, the inkey list isn't great at mascara either, so I use a cold cream or plain oil for that part usually. So not an issue for me there. It stung my eyes horribly. It turned milky when I added water, so I assumed it would emulsify & rinse clean. Nope. I used a foaming cleanser after & still feel greasy. And I don't have oily skin.
This might be great for someone w super dry skin. I don't know how ppl like this stuff! Prob the worst I've tried. Even super cheap drugstore ones are so much better! And it's only 1.7 oz!!! So expensive!!
The best cleanser ever! 5

I use this cleanser every day… it's a little odd if you've never used squalane before but i absolutely love it. Put it on a dry face and rinse it and my face feels so good!
Loving it 5
Faceforinfinity from Utah
Skin feels clean but not too stripped kind of reminds me of when we were all using oil to clean our skin. But like more better and you don't feel like a chicken.
Not great for sensitive skin/combined with other products 3

I used it a few times when first purchased and really loved it as my first step in double cleansing. My other oil cleansers have pumps that make them hard to travel with so I loved the idea of using this as my on-the-go oil cleanser. I hadn't used for a while, then used after I had already implemented their niacinamide + zinc serum and azelaic acid cream in my everyday routine. It made my cheeks burnnnnn so bad for whatever reason and left them red. I'm pretty bummed about it! Now I'm going to return it since my skin had such a poor reaction after implementing the two products mentioned (both of which work AMAZING for clearing my acne scars).
I will no longer be buying this product 3

I really gave this product a shot.I've been using it for a month and I had amazing results with the cleanser moisturizer combo after a week and thought I had finally found the right cleanser only for it to stop working. I've been going back and forth with it and I just don't think its for me. Despite saying its a gentle cleanser my skin always felt super tight and dry after so I'd slather on the moisturizer hoping it was hydrating enough but started to experience break outs and flaky skin.
Perfect Cleanser 5

I love this cleanser. I'm 36 with sensitive, oily but easily dehydrated, and congestion prone skin. This cleanser easily melts my eye makeup and leaves my skin feeling soft and never tight or dry. The only downside is that I wish the bottle was bigger.
Great for dry/combination skin 5

I had struggled with peeling skin & clogged pores for a long time, but this cleanser completely changed up my skin. The only bad thing about it is the cleanser doesn't last very long.

This is an absolutely perfect, no frills oil cleanser. It's completely unscented, affordable, and removes makeup like a champ. It starts out looking like a lotion but quickly melts into an oil in your hands. It's never caused any irritation for me, even around my eyes. I've gone through 5+ tubes of this, and I don't see any reason to stop. Also, the tube is way better than the tubs in which cleansing balms are often packaged (more sanitary and easier to use).
Absolutely in love with these products. 5

I am not a girly girl and have never had a skin care regiment until I found this line. It's easy to know what to buy, I love the packing, the product actually works and I can afford to keep on buying it! Love Ordinary's whole line!!
Best cleaner ever 5
Julia P. from Texas
I have dry sensitive skin and it's my holy grail. This cleanser comes out as a cream and once you work it into your face turns into this oil cleanser that removes makeup and dirt. Once I mix it with water to wash it off it kind of turns milky and leaves my skin clean and not stripped and feels so good and healthy. Absolute favorite and will never use another cleanser. It gets rid of tough makeup, sunscreen and intense pigmented eyeshadow and mascara.
Awful 3
Will never buy this again. from Las Vegas
I love the ordinary brand. I use several of their products but this one was awful. First off I wonder if I got a bad one because it smelled TERRIBLE. Its very creamy and more like rubbing lotion on your face vs washing it.
Love it! 5
