Most Helpful Positive Review I wish it wasn't plastic
I bought the teal, green, and yellow (fresh, gotcha, and screamin) and I like them but there are some flaws. To sharpen them you have to use a pencil sharpener but the container is made of plastic so plastic flakes get into your sharpener (and possibly into the environment which is bad). I wish they were made of wood or something more sustainable. They are also a bit dry, not so bad that they tug on the lids, but I wouldn't call them creamy. I tried using the green as a lip liner (it says they can be lip liners or eyeliners) and it pulled on my lips and was kind of patchy. I didn't have a green lipstick to try over it, which might have made it better, but I definitely wouldn't be able to wear it alone. I still like them because it's hard to find fun colors from affordable brands, and they do provide a nice pop of color that I really enjoy for the summer!
Most Helpful Critical Review SEVERE IRRITATION TO EYES AND EYELIDS
I went right over to Ulta after watching a beautiful makeup tutorial by Angelica Nyqvist who used the neon eyeliner "Fresh." I thought it was a unique and gorgeous color, and perused the other colors as well. I ended up ordering all of them except the white one. Sadly, ALL of these irritated my eyes, made them watery, burning and also my eyelids were sore all day and slightly puffy after using these. I am leaving the same review on all of the ones I purchased since they all irritated my waterline and my eyelids. There is a reason why the ingredient list isn't even listed! I bet these all contain Carmine, which is a known serious allergic ingredient in a lot of cosmetics and even food. BUYER BEWARE.
And..... it doesn't even sharpen! Once you use the tip, that's all. Returning for refund!

I needed a green eye pencil I could use in my waterline. I tried this out in "dragon". Even though it goes on very smoothly, it smears completely and easily. So I would not recommend this. Instead, I would go with Revlon "colorstay eyeliner pencil crayon contour" in Jade....the revlon pencil stays in waterline nicely. I just wanted something even greener. So no, I would not recommend the LA shockwave eyeliner.

I think a lot of negative reviews are from people that don't understand that these sharpen the same way any pencil eyeliner does...with a pencil sharpener. The ULTA brand sharpener works great. Colors are all very pigmented and vibrant. Can't beat the price! I own almost ever shade.

Love these! Great price and performs better than any other more expensive liner I have in my collection! Stays in my waterline! Actually, bought every color online I could not find in stores!
Stjahh from Valrico,Fl
Creamy, vibrant, easy to use, and stayed in my waterline! Can't beat the price as this performs better than any other more expensive eyeliner I have. Actually, went on the website and purchased every color I could not find in stores!
I get it now

I can see why these are cult favorite. they are better than NYX in my opinion. they sharpen better and the colors are less lumpy when applied.
Espresso the MUA from Massachusetts
Clumpy and not pigmented at all. If I could give a zero I would. The other colors are amazing though!
Colors not as pictured online

The green and purple are not as pictured. Completely disappointed to be honest. I returned both
so easy to work with!

i've never been good at doing eyeliner but wow, this is a good one! this one makes it sooo much easier to apply. it's creamy but still precise and the perfect black!
Steph p from Georgia
absolutely love this. it's so creamy and applies so great to the water line which I have sensitive eyes so it's hard to find a eyeliner that does that and it's so long lasting and I've even slept in it no irritation and it stays put
Really good eyeliner

I'm only sorry I didn't buy two because this was excellent eyeliner
don't know why I keep trying
Genesis from USA
the color payoff and the price is reasonable - but every stick product I've gotten from this brand breaks and crumbles. I've thrown away more than I've been able to use; at least I buy on sale prices
Loreyulia from Mesa
I was excited by the sale price, but should have read the reviews. Not only is this product okay at best, but the fact that you have to shave down the plastic casing around the pencil to get more product was just a weird choice. I don't have any pencil sharpeners good enough to cut through the plastic so I don't know what to do when I need more product. The product itself isn't particularly pigmented, doesn't last more than a few hours, and glides on kinda chunky. It's decent if you want to do a quick look, take some pics, and then not have to worry about it, but not good for long day wear. I'll try to get my use out of this product because I hate wasting, but I'd never buy it again.

this is one of the best eyeliners I have ever tried!
I would buy this product again and again
Kristen from West Islip, NY
I normally use it to tight line my upper lashes, upper waterline and lower lashes and than apply a dark shade of eyeshadow on top of it
Colour seems spot on.

Creamy eyeliner. Nice colors to choose from. Would recommend. Down fall is the packaging is not recyclable.
Lola from Jersey
Hands down 1 of the best eyeliners I've ever used! Super smooth, no skipping, amazing pigment! An overall great product!
Anza from Arkansas
While there is a lot of color, there is only a little bit of product to use. Meh
Smooth and easy, sharpen with pencil sharpener!
AmyH from NC
Like how easy this pencil is to use, very smooth. Only downside is tip can break easily. Couldn't figure out how to sharpen and thought it was a twist. After searching figured out it could be sharpened with a regular pencil sharpener! Would have never thought since the outside looks like plastic, but it works. Just be careful as too much and tip will break. Otherwise perfect!
its ok .
gabby from bridge waterfalls
i like how pigmented this is and it works very good but you only get the tip of the crayon. it does not retract. i don't know if you can sharpen it or not . but for the price it's okay .
Creamy but chunky and streaky
Leslie from AZ
Its a very creamy formula and it goes on smooth, but it has a tendency to chunk up and be patchy.
Kayy from Coeur d Alene, Idaho
Seriously glides so easily it's super pigmented and feels so creamy it compares to a lot of not all of the luxary brands and for the price of under $5?! You cannot beat that! Seriously has become my favorite eyeliner! Doesn't transfer and stays put only downfall is that it's not waterproof. So if you put it in the waterline it will eventually fade but anywhere else will be perfect and stay in place all day!
Very Creamy and Great Pigment
Kitty from No Applicable
I like to use this product as a eyeliner on the eyelid. I also really love it for inner corner intensity! It completes a lot of my eye looks. Without it, it feels like something is missing.
Bri from Washington
Definitely will repurchase again. Stays on very well. Preforms just as well as high end products.
Stays Put, Vibrant, Easy to Sharpen
Kimi C. from Salt Lake City, UT
I love this eyeliner. I have been using expansive eyeliners for a decade and decided to try "blackout" while it was on sale for about $2. I was shocked at how creamy it is and how well it stays put (especially in the waterline). It's also easy to smudge when I want a smoky look. I use this liner most days now, and plan on buying it again and again. The quality is right up there with the pricier liners.
I was really confused by the amount of people who have a hard time sharpening the pencil... I use the Urban Decay Grind House and haven't had any trouble whatsoever.
Can't sharpen and won't twist
Melissa from Boca
I'll be returning mine. I love the color but I can't keep using it bc it sharpens terribly. I thought it was a twist one but it's not.
