It's a serum.
It is advertised as a lightweight evening cream with 0.05% retinaldehyde( 3X more powerful than retinol). However, I would say it is more like a serum and should be used with a moisturizer. I used the cream for a month every night before going to bed. I'm not new with retinol. This cream is very light in texture and absorbs instantly, the feeling of comfort of the skin is magical. I see that the skin began to look healthier and brighter, radiant and soft after using the cream. The wrinkle area on the neck and face became less pronounced than it was before using the cream.

This product is light and goes on very nicely. I've been also using on my elbows and chest to get some added benefits. Would definitely recommend this brand!

I really like this Avene face cream. I haven't heard of "retrinal" before trying this, I have read that it is a form of retinoic acid, so a form of retinol, I presume. I have been using this a while & have noticed my skin feels smoother & a bit more firm. I haven't experienced any redness or excessive dryness (what little I have, I believe, is from the cold weather & easily came away with my weekly physical exfoliating.) I would recommend it, very nice face cream for young 30s skin.

I've only been using this for about a month but so far it's been good! Doesn't really have a scent to it and the texture is fine! Doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy!
