Does the marcel iron typically run lower in heat? I feel like I have to go higher on the heat (410*F) to get a good curl. Where as other heating tools, I use 350*F.

I don't have this particular Marcel iron, by the Hot Tools Marcel iron I purchased is no longer available. The temperature control settings are great, and the iron does get very hot. I would by this product again
I bought this replacing a hot tool curling iron that was not the same style and I loved it - it had the tip and was easy to use but it quit working after less than 10 uses - I thought maybe if I spent more for the professional product It would last longer - but I cant stand it - it is not user friendly and it doesn't curl my hair - I have burned my self countless times - in the trash this goes with the one that doesn't work - so I am in to over 100 bucks now from Ulta on Hot Tool products are just garbage. Done with Ulta as well as Hot Tool at this point.

This is a solid curling iron BUT it has a pretty big learning curve to it. The way it is designed is not very user intuitive and was very confusing. It heats up well and the heat is distributed evenly which is great but I wasn't crazy about the design.
Doesn't hold curls/ black film chipped
I really wanted this to work but it didn't at all. My curls fell out after an hour (I have thick wavy hair and used the highest heat setting). I even made sure to FT my hair stylist to make sure I was using it correctly. Also the black paint chipped on the second time using it. It's been over a year and I've used it 4 times because it's just not a good product. Wish I would've returned it but im lazy 😊😂 I bought the T3 curler want instead this year (way better)
