This is good, not great

This foundation claims to be a smoothing, blurring, noncomedogenic foundation with medium, weightless coverage and niacinamide that improves the look of your pores and skin over time. The shade I chose is too light for me so that's a bummer, am I going to buy the right shade based on my review… no ...probably not. This foundation is good, but I like others better. Yes, it is both smoothing and blurring, but the claim that is smooths skin overtime; I just don't want to wear this for 30 days straight to find out. This leans on the heavier coverage side of medium and that's not my preference I prefer something lighter. I do think when you look at this applied it's definitely apparent that you are wearing foundation so if you want something that "melts into the skin" this isn't the foundation to choose. I don't know if this is buildable because when I first tried this I used a sponge and the amount I applied was too much and it looked cakey. For my preferences, I use a sponge and not even one pump, I apply a very thin layer. I couldn't imagine applying another layer, I don't think I would like it. This did start to break up on my chin after 3.5 hrs which surprised me… but it is very hot and humid where I live. In summary, if I mix in bronzing drops (my fault for bad shade selection), and apply a very thin layer this does look nice, it does smooth and blur the pores as claimed. This foundation does have a natural matte finish as stated. And in the heat and humidity of summer starts to break up on my chin at the 3.5 hour mark, if I use a little powder at that time it helps, the rest of the face is good. My skin tends to be a little dry, so I use only a small amount of powder on my face to set, the powder just isn't needed with the natural matte finish. Lastly, the foundation did not irritate my skin or cause breakouts so that's definitely a plus.
