- Q
is it good for dry skin or is it mattifying?
- Asked by Angie
- Official Answer By Smashbox USGreat question! This primer is more blurring than mattifying - it’s lightweight, oil-free, and designed to smooth the look of pores while gripping makeup for up to 12 hours. If you have dry skin, you can definitely use it, but we recommend prepping with a good moisturizer first for the best, most comfortable finish. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
SPF? If not, when to apply?
- Asked by Gina
- Official Answer By Smashbox USThank you for the opportunity to assist! Smashbox Photo Finish Pore-Vanishing Blurs Pores Primer does not provide sun protection. For a smooth, flawless complexion and SPF, we recommend applying the primer first, followed by the Smashbox Halo Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 25.Was this answer helpful to you

I have never had this problem with the other pore minimizer, but after i apploy it, I have to blend it in, or it will literally crumb off my face, and mess up my makeup. Why is it doing that? Are you suppose to put it on and then let it sit for a few minutes? I never had that problem with the other pore minimizer, so it is weird. It like just clumps together and rolls of the face
- Asked by Kris
- Official Answer By Smashbox USThanks for reaching out! This may be due to the use of excess products. Using a pea-size amount of Smashbox Photo Finish Pore-Vanishing Shine Control Primer on moisturized skin is recommended. We hope this helps! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
What is the difference between this product and the Photo Finish Control Mattifying Primer? Their descriptions and purposes seem the same.

Really great primer for everyday use!
I received this product in exchange for my honest review. Smashbox is a makeup brand that I grew up loving, and I remember their primers being well-loved and talked about in the online beauty spaces. Now that I've finally gotten to test one out, I understand the hype. This primer fills and smooths...

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] Seriously love this product. Makes my make up application (which is fairly simple) so much smoother and lasts longer. Must have in my make up bag!

Miss the old formula

I have loved this product for years but when I got my new order, I discovered the formula has been changed. It is no longer a neutral beige matte formula but now a clear liquidy gel. My skin doesn't look nearly as smooth or flawless with this old formula. Please bring back the old color and formula!
New formula…
The old formula was my favorite for pore minimizing and I have used it for years till I ran out and have to try the new formula. It has very little ability to control oil and it doesn't even or brigthen skin tone like the old version did. A couple hours later being in the park, my face looked greasy and all the pores were laughing out loud… I will be looking for another product while try to finish these 4 tubes I already bought….
Did not work at all!

I was hopeful that this would work and would work even better than the old one. It did nothing. Didn't help diminish pores at all. Also felt almost chalky.

I'm usually a smash box primer lover. I've used the photo finish minimizing primer for years. Obviously they discontinued that one so I thought I'd try this one. I got to say HUGE disappointment. The only positive is that it goes on smooth but I found that it did nothing like the old one.
