FAQs
What does The Ordinary PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum do for dry, chapped lips?
The Ordinary PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum is a chemical exfoliating lip treatment that uses gentle Polyhydroxy Acids (PHAs) to exfoliate dry, dead skin from lips, promoting renewal for smoother texture, increased hydration (boosting moisture by 30% in tests), and a more radiant, plump look without harsh scrubbing.
Can I use The Ordinary PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum every day?
No. The Ordinary PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum should not be used daily; it is recommended to apply a thin layer on alternate evenings, 2-3 times a week, to help avoid irritation while supporting smoother lips. Always follow with SPF on your lips the next day due to increased sun sensitivity.
Is The Ordinary PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum suitable for sensitive lips?
Yes. The Ordinary PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum is formulated to be suitable for sensitive skin, using Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) for gentle surface exfoliation along with hydrating ingredients like glycerin and ectoin to help support the skin barrier.
Can I layer The Ordinary PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum with lip balm or SPF?
Yes. The Ordinary PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum can be used with other lip products, but it should be applied first on clean, dry lips and allowed to fully absorb before layering lip balm, lipstick, or SPF. It is recommended for nighttime use 2-3 times per week and to avoid combining with other strong acids.
Will The Ordinary PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum cause tingling or irritation?
The Ordinary PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum is designed as a gentle, non-irritating alternative to harsh lip scrubs, using PHAs to exfoliate without causing pain, burning, or prolonged irritation.

Physical exfoliants harshly pull flaky dead skin off, often leading to the pulling off of healthy skin and then I'm left dealing with a whole other issue o...

Not what I hoped for
I was really excited to use this, as I struggle with chronically dry lips no matter how much water I drink or whatever lip balms I use. I have used glycolic acid before to exfoliate my lips but did so sparingly so I was super excited to see a lip-specific exfoliating product but I am disappointed. O...

Wow'ed
I've used many lip products but struggle with flaky lips that cannot get enough lip balms and lip scrubs help with much of it but not all. I bought this on a whim and use it under Laniege lip mask panning my lips have never been fbis soft and smooth in my 40 years of life.
Lightweight serum
A nice lightweight serum for your lips. I have layer lip balm over to get more viscosity
I will definitely buy this product again.
I've used this product for a week, and I can see the difference in the shade of my lips. If you are struggling with Dark lips, I would definitely recommend purchasing this product.
Feels nice, taste is heinous
Product does work well, my lips feels great, but the taste of this product you have to put on your mouth is absolutely mental. I have no idea how this got out of testing all things considered, it's also a bit annoying that it's a dropper vs a regular applicator,
