I've used Perfect 10 hair color occasionally over the years, and I have always been happy with the results. (I don't have a lot of gray in my hair yet - if you do your results could be different.) My hair looks shiny after using it, it doesn't have that flat all-one-color look to it, and in my experience the color lasts a loooong time (I only shampoo twice a week - daily washing would likely cause it to fade sooner.)
I've used a chocolate brown that I loved in the past, but I'm not getting any younger, and have some wrinkles and a sprinkling of gray, so I decided not to quite as dark this time. (I used 6.5A - forgetting the shade name, but it was described as "lightest cool brown" I think.) I know from experience that my already medium brown hair usually comes out WAAAY darker than the box indicates, so that sounded about right. The A indicates ash, and the last few times I colored I used a warmer, golden color, and still had a reddish tint to my hair that I wanted to lose. Happily, this did the trick! It covered my bit of gray, blended my roots, got rid of the reddish tint, and left my hair looking way more vibrant. It's a little darker than I want, but I know from experience that it will fade a bit as I wash it. (And it isn't TOO dark - my middle school students noticed I'd gotten it cut, but no one noticed that I'd also colored. And trust me, they'd say something...)
Everyone's hair is different, but P10 is always a safe bet for me!
I used the color light brown in Perfect 10 and it turned out great. The perfect light brown, but my gray is already showing on day 15. Fades too quickly. I wish that the reviews here had to state the color that was used, otherwise the review is useless.

I love this hair dye. I use it for years now and so does my mom. It's quick and beautiful outcome every time. I use the brown shades , 5 medium brown and 5A medium ash brown and 4 dark brown and they always come out perfect whenever I use them.

so I have been dying my own hair for over 15 years and I'm practically a pro at it with any brand. I always use an ash (dark or medium) brown, which prevents hair from ever turning brassy. Ash is the opposite of brassy tones. So I decided to try this brand in medium ash brown. The picture on the box showed an ash brown color. So I left the dye on 10 minutes as instructed. And this horrible dye changed my brown hair (which has about 10% greys) to a brassy blonde color!!! You should never get a brassy result from ash and you should never get blonde hair from a medium brown. I even double checked to make sure they had sent me the right color I had ordered, and they had. This dye is the worst ever. Do Not Buy. Never had any dye screw up my hair like this with totally false advertising of what the color will be. It actually looked like I had used bleach on my hair and lightened it. Shame on you Clairol.

I use the nice'n'easy root touch up every month, and it works fine.
So I decided to do my once a year whole head color on Tuesday. OMG, it has been 48 hours and I have washed my hair 15 times to try to get rid of this cloying HORRID old lady perfume smell on my hair. It's still here and now I have to sleep with my hair up in a bun and change my pillowcases each morning. I have asthma, and this is wrecking it. I don't even care if I wash all the color out, if I could just get rid of this awful smell. I can't 😭.
I went out today and was dying of embarrassment because I smelled like a 90 year old drowning in perfume. What the actual heck did you do to your standard hair color???!!! Nope, never again. You've lost me Clairol.
Now I am going to try to wash my hair with tomato juice 👎🏻🦨

I like this hair color, especially when I am short on time. Covers grey just as well as when I've gone to a hairdresser. The included creme rinse works well.

I've been box dying my naturally dark brown black with gray hair black for years. I left this on for thirty minutes to get a few stubborn grays in the front, and it barely covered anything. I have patches of lighter roots along my hairline. I've done this more than enough times to know it is not from user error. No grays are covered either. This product was a complete waste of money.

Did NOT cover gray! I have dark brown hair (naturally) currently with about 1.5" of gray at roots cause I'm afraid to go to the salon right now. I ordered the dark auburn which should've added a bit of red to my color. After coloring I have strawberry blond roots and my normal dark brown elsewhere.
Also was clumpy out of bottle after shaking it for over a minute (directions say shake at least 20 seconds). Did not mix well. Old product? Anyhow, will not be buying it again.
I originally posted this review a couple months ago but for some reason it has not shown up...

I loved the color my hair turned out but it did seem a lot harder on my hair than other dyes. idk if its because it's a 10 min formula or what but yeah.

Been using perfect 10 for years with great results. I'm happy to have found it again in this site. Can I highly recommend. Only 10 minutes and it covers my grades and the color lasts 6 weeks.

Why do you have every color except the one that I use? 5G medium golden brown. Love this color but cannot find it. Clairol needs to ship more of this to you. Always ordered 10 boxes each time. Please help me out. Thanks!

I used as directed on clean, dry hair and left it on for about 15 minutes and my grays are barely covered at all. Such a disappointment since it is hard to find a really cool brown color.

I use this brand for several reasons. I think it has an amazing conditioner that I wish I could buy by itself. I love the final results. Color is perfect and covers the little gray hairs I have. I have reacted to other brands but not this one. It is gentle but you also get great results! I hope you will get in a medium blonde shade which is what I truly want. It's a great great great product.

For my hair it sucks. It's already fading.
