Gel consistency
I am just using a pea size but having to put other moisturizer on top of this. After application my face still feels tight! I have oily acne prone skin so i thought this would be great, but it isnt moisturing enough!
Pea sized perfection
I had been using The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA as a dupe for Tatcha's Dewy Milk Moisturizer, as my day moisturizer. It worked well, but a skincare routine app said The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan was a better match for me. First application I was unimpressed but i used the same amount as i used with previous creams. Then i read a review elsewhere advising you only need a PEA-sized amount otherwise it wouldn't absorb. This tip worked great! Imo this moisturizer also works better with my primer (Bare Minerals Prime Time Original). Another TiP i learned from that other review is to apply it to damp skin (i apply while my serum is still damp) instead of dry skin. This addresses people's claim that this moisturizer isn't hydrating. Doing this counteracts the fact that this moisturizer has a higher amount of humectants than occlusives. Again, i use this as a lightweight daycream so it still may not be moisturizing enough for others or as a nightcream.
Application is key
May not be for everyone definately for a morning day mosturizor and go for more hydration for night routine.
least favorite ordinary product
Ive used quite a few products from the ordinary but this is one of my least favorite. I wanted an alternarive to their more heavy weight cream moisturizer that i use during the winter but this gel moisturizer did not work as well as i hoped. like other reviewers i felt it stung my face upon application and was very sticky after drying. i had to use another moisturizer on top of this one in order to avoid feeling dry and tight after usage.
Package isn't clear; icky feeling; doesn't absorb
The packaging isn't clear if you're purchasing in store. It does not say it is a GEL. It's pretty icky feeling applying and does not absorb as well as the original normal cream moisturizer. You can feel the sticky gel on your skin for a few hours after application.
