OLAPLEX N°.0.5 Scalp Longevity Serum Treatment

I used the Olaplex Nº.0.5 Scalp Serum Treatment consistently and followed the directions, but I didn't notice any real difference in my scalp health or hair. It didn't irritate my skin, I'll give it that much, but given my results with other products from this brand I expected to see some visible results. During the summer I swim a lot and it often causes me to have flaky scalp. After using this, I still have flaking as you can see in the photos. A scalp serum should either invigorate, calm, reduce flakiness, or help with shedding and this didn't check any of those boxes for me. It might work better for others with different scalp needs, but in my experience, it just felt like an extra step with no results. I wouldn't recommend this product based on my experience. I've had mixed experiences with Olaplex products in the past, but this is one product I plan to keep at the ready in my arsenal. I applied this product 2x a week over about 3 weeks and was met with smoother more hydrated hair. I will say, this should be used prior to showering to prevent any greasiness with application. I enjoy using this product with the applicator being very easy to use as a guide through my scalp. This product served my dry and itchy scalp and removed the flakes from my scalp during wash day. This product has a thin consistency, which is easy to seep through the scalp and cure the itchiness. My scalp looks healthier and my hair feels a bit softer.

However, I did notice that when applied to my dry scalp, it felt a bit itchy, which was a drawback. Also, the tube is quite small for the price, so I reserve it for targeted use only when needed. It would be helpful if the product came in a slightly larger size for more regular use. Despite those minor issues, it's still a high-performing scalp treatment that I'd keep in rotation for wash days.

I have an extremely dry/ itchy/ irritable scalp. It is sensitive and often very flaky. I struggle with dandruff and dry skin, leading me to scratch my scalp leaving redness/scabs. It is miserable! I have tried several scalp products and this Scalp Longevity Serum Treatment by Olaplex truly does what it says it does. After using this twice a week for three weeks I have noticed a drastic improvement in my dry skin. I have way less dandruff and it is not as itchy, so I do not have scabs from itching. There is very little scent which I appreciate. The only reason I took off one star is because you are supposed to be able to use it on clean hair but it makes it SO greasy.
