I am so upset that the formula has changed!
I have used this shampoo and conditioner for years and have loved it! I just purchased some more because I had ran out and instantly knew something was different from the smell. The smell was so strong and perfumey! It left my hair feeling greasy and sticky! Got to looking and see that it now contains oleic acid & jojoba oil instead of Shea butter like it used to. Why oh whyyyy do companies change their products when they were perfectly fine???? Why not just create another line of shampoo and leave the existing ones alone if they want to try something different??? Now I'm on the search for another shampoo.
My New Favorite Shampoo
[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] With curly hair, I often struggle to find the balance between shampoos that properly get rid of product build up, but don't strip the material and needs oils from my hair. This shampoo has proven that that balance can be done! This shampoo is great at lathering up while making my cruel feel soft once rinsed off. It's my new favorite shampoo!

my hair stylist recommended matrix food for soft shampoo a few yrs ago and it absolutely was a game changer for my hair! i have thick, frizzy, wavy hair and food for soft calmed all of that down while adding shine. i saw this line and decided to try... i was unfortunately displeased with the end result. ive been using it about a month and my hair feels frizzier than before. i just repurchased matrix food for soft (the green bottle). i shouldnt have strayed!

Changed the formula
I have been using the shampoo for at least 10 years. The old formula was a pearly white and had a fresh scent to it. The conditioner was thick and made my hair very silky. I have course frizzy hair so this is important to me. I ordered some more of the shampoo and conditioner and both the shampoo and conditioner are now an orangey color and it smells like my grandma's VO5 shampoo. The conditioner is thin and when it washes out, my hair is tangly. I don't know why companies insist on changing the formulas of things that are really good. The best part is it doesn't even say new formula on the bottle. They just trick you into buying it. This loyal customer is now looking elsewhere for new shampoo and conditioner.
