I use it on my hair before I style and after. Smells awesome. I pretty much have to hide it from my sister. I would totally recommend to friends and family.
I purchased this product based in large part on the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I used this on already clean and dry hair to prepare and "prime" for my flat iron. I did a test spray on my hand and noticed the product came out in a fist, clear mist. The consistency felt quite oily/ "slippy" on my hand. I felt like I would need to use this product sparingly because in my prior experience, this type of product often left a greasy film or residue on my hair, even after styling. With this in mind, I sprayed a couple sprays (2 - 3) in my mid-lengths and ends. I carefully avoided my roots.
As I straightened/ styled, I didn't notice any sort of steaming or anything coming off of the hair or iron which can sometimes happen. I also did not notice any odor or smell of burnt hair. These appeared to be favorable signs.
The product lays out 10 benefits/ claims:
Cuts Drying Time
I cannot really speak to whether the product has UV protection, or strengthens since I haven't used it for very long. I will say that I think this isn't the right product for me. It gives me very greasy, oily hair that is weighed down even when I apply it to the ends/ mids alone. I didn't really see a whole lot of frizz reduction with this product either. If it works for you, great, but I don't actually see anything revolutionary about this product. It might provide some heat protection, but again, there are other products on the market that do that just as well and better, are more affordable, and do not weigh the hair down.
The ingredient list is not long:
Isododecane (it is derived from petroleum products)
Isopropyl Palmitate (Isopropyl palmitate is the ester of isopropyl alcohol and palmitic acid. It is an emollient, moisturizer, thickening agent, and anti-static agent)
Isohexadecane (synthetic ingredient used as a cleansing agent, solvent, texture enhancer, and skin-conditioning agent.)
Ethylhexyl Olivate (an olive-derived emollient. More specifically, it is the natural ester of skin-conditioning fatty acids derived from olive oil)
Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil (argan oil, pretty self-explanatory)
Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil (self-explanatory)
Squalane (fairly common moisturizer, also tends to be greasy/ oily)
Fragrance (Top: Freesia, Plum. Heart: White Flowers (Jasmine, Magnolia, Gardenia). Dry Down: Woody Warm Amber, Bourbon Vanilla, White Musk)
As you can probably see from the list above, this product is chock full of a lot of greasy/ oily ingredients that will give the hair a lot of slip, which is why is may be helpful for detangling. There isn't anything inherently heat protective about this product and the oils may weigh your hair down. A few heat-protecting ingredients have been studied independently to reveal their efficacy, specifically PVP/DMAPA acrylates copolymer, quaternium-70, and hydrolyzed wheat protein. This product contains none of those.
Looking at EWG, this product scores a 4 of 10, with a high risk for Allergies & Immunotoxicity because of CYCLOPENTASILOXANE.
I've tried other heat protectants before but they always seemed to make my hair still look frizzy and made my ends look dry. I have thick hair so i like to straighten them to make them feel lighter. This is my first time trying this and im so impressed! My hair looks so healthy and shiny and my ends look healthy too!! Def will buy again, I need a bigger bottle or two!
Love this product! Adds shine and moisture! However, be careful and play around with how much product you may need because this can get sticky if you use too much. It definitely adds shine, hydrates, makes my hair feel soft and smells amazing! Great price for all this product does!!!
I cannot stress enough how much this product has made an impact on my hair. People saying it made their hair "slippery" is because they probably used way too much. Just be mindful that you spray it evenly and not in the same area
This product is easy to use, softens hair, gives a subtle shine, reduces frizzing, and my hair feels so smooth. I would definitely recommend this product to people. However, the smell of the spray is alright. I like it but don't love it. That's the only con I have about this product. I would 100% buy this again.
I have naturally curly kinky hair and this product helps maintain the craziness that comes from having such hair
