There are serious issues with the spring that allows you to open and close the iron to curl. It's like the spring gets too hot, softens, and ends up stuck and the iron won't close all the way to secure the hair. I use the tool the way it is intended. I love this curling iron so much. The extended barrel makes a big difference—it's perfect for my long hair and makes reaching the back of my head so much easier. The 2-inch longer barrel gives me more room to work with, especially for creating loose waves and curls without having to section so much. I also love the cool touch grip—it makes curling way more comfortable and safe.
