Start with hair that is completely dried & detangled before using Le Duo Flex.
When initially plugged into an electrical outlet, the lights on the tool will illuminate in succession from the icon to the highest temperature (the tool has not started heating).
To heat Le Duo Flex for the first time, press and hold the power button until a white light illuminates beside 280°F.
The light beside the default temperature of 280°F will blink while the tool heats. Once the tool has reached temperature, the white light beside the temperature will stop blinking and the fan will turn on automatically.
To select a different temperature, press and release the power button until the light beside your desired temperature illuminates.
To deactivate the fan, press and release the button.
Apply your L'ange heat protectant of choice.
Detangle and divide hair into small, manageable sections.
Make sure to keep the hot plates away from your face and body.
For tight curls, toggle the adjustor switch---found above the clip---towards the symbol. For loose curls, toggle the adjustor switch towards the symbol.
Holding the iron vertically, squeeze the clip to open the plates and insert a 1⁄2"--1" section of hair between the plates near the root.
Close iron, rotate between 180° and 360°---the more rotation, the tighter the curl---making sure that you turn the tool in the direction of the curve of the plate. Glide the iron down the length of the hair. The slower you pull the iron, the tighter the curl. Consider varying the curl direction for a more natural end result.
Repeat on remaining sections until your desired style is achieved.
Once finished, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn the tool OFF. All lights on the handle will turn off.
Unplug Le Duo Flex and wait until completely cooled before storing away.
Tip: To ensure a smooth glide, always turn the iron in the direction of the curve of the plate.

Best Curler for Thick Straight Hair
I have super straight thick hair and have used both really inexpensive and expensive high end curling irons. The issue is most don't keep the curls beyond the one day. This is the first tool that keeps my curls until I wash my hair even in the Houston, TX hot and humid climate. I DO recommend using the old school RAVE Hairspray before you curl. It keeps the curl without getting crunchy, sticky or tangled. As other reviews mentioned, the fan is quite high pitched but much lower than a classic blow dryer. I am also able to touch the outside while the fan is on without getting burned. You do have to be careful with the edges, but that's to prevent pulling or creasing. (So I've read) The plates get super hot and never have to use it beyond the second highest setting. It is a learning curve as I am not one that has ever been able to curl my hair with a straight iron or a wand, only a curling iron. It took about 3 tries to get it down perfectly and now I'm able to curl my long thick hair within 15 minutes. I highly recommend it. The titanium plates also make your hair super shiny and I always get compliments on how healthy my hair looks. Def recommend the heat protectant spray as well that I spray after my hair is fully air dried. (I have a toddler and no time to sit and dry my hair as well. lol) I would def buy again!

I recently actually returned this item, i personaly think the original kne id better. I still have the original one. This one frlt like the fan did nothing and it butned my fingerd way too much which the original one doesnt. Also the curve in the plates on this knr i felt like left a dent in my hair when curling and i just felt like it wasnt as smooth as other curling irons.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT AND EASY TO USE
I have never been good at fixing/styling my hair... much less curling it. But with this Le Duo I have no trouble styling my hair. I have long hair and after watching one tutorial on YouTube, I am hooked! I get compliments on my hair all the time and the curl (I have fine hair) lasts for days!

I have very fine thinning hair that is cut in a pixie style. Finding the right size styling tool that would grasp hold my hair while curling it has been a challenge. I wanted more of a tool than a curling iron. The Le Duo Flex has given me the control and lasting curl that I have been looking for. I'm older and have stopped coloring my hair after going through chemotherapy for breast cancer. The Le Duo Flex has also tamed my hair's frizz. I'm able to look in the mirror and feel good about my hair again.
