I was reading the reviews on this because I have a l'ange straightener but it's not the digital one, I love it but the plates are damaged which is in turn causing breakage to my hair (just from how long I've had it and regular ware and tear) but I read a lot that this straightener will just stop working without warning, what would be the cause of that and could it be prevented?

Is there an option to lock the temperature setting while using the flat iron to avoid accidentally hitting any buttons? I constantly turn down the heat on my Le Duo without realizing and its so frustrating.

Disappointing!
I was so excited to get this as I got a great deal on it and the reviews are good. What a disappointment. It made a staticky noise the whole time, and really made my hair look dry and not super straight. I ran it through my hair multiple times but it still didn't work well.
