Most Helpful Positive Review Love this brand I use this product on myself and my 9 year old daughter. Our hair is kind of different but this product works well for us both. It started with me using Jamaican Black Castor oil for the thin parts of hair and Apple Cider Vinegar for my dryness. And then I came across this brand that has both plus more!! It's awesome!
Most Helpful Critical Review DO NOT USE If Protein Sensitive My hair did not like this product at ALL. It was easy to use as a detangler, but I was fearful when it came to rinsing it out. Just as I suspected, it left my hair feeling brittle, tangled, and an overall mess and on top of this all, I was left with undefined curls. If this happens or happened to you, you're likely protein sensitive and should stay away from products with Keratin or anything involving "proteins."
It also has an oddly satisfying play-dough smell...

I don't understand, feels like the batch I got was bad or something because this doesn't condition my hair AT ALL - I use a whole hand full, like 10 pumps, and it does nothing, even somehow making my hair more tangled to the point that I'm afraid to run my fingers through it. Have to use a bunch of oil when I get out of the shower to make my hair feel healthy. I should have just thrown it away after the first time.

I recently dyed my hair copper and due to having to bleach my hair it wasn't in the best condition but so far this conditioner has helped a lot!
made my hair greasy 2
A from SI
i thought this would help with hair growth since there's black castor oil in it but it just makes my hair really greasy
Damaged my hair 1
Lea02 from undisclosed
This particular product has damaged my hair twice. I started using Shea moisture in 2016 it didn't really do much for my 4b hair but I kept using it anyways cause at least it didn't damage it. However In less than 1 year this conditioner has managed to damage my hair twice. I'm sick and tired of nurturing my hair back to health only to have it destroyed again and again. I'm officially done with Shea moisture, not going to waste any more money.
Didn't reach my expectations 2
Brooke from Colorado
I had i expectations for this product. My family friend uses it and loves it but it wasn't for me. It left my hair feeling smooth and shiny but it also left my hair looking greasy 5 hours after washing it. Especially considering I only put conditioner on my ends! Definitely helped my hair grow and strengthen but wasn't worth the way it made my hair feel! Might work for others though so keep that into consideration!
Love the stuff 5
Momma2 from undisclosed
I love using these products my hair has never felt softer and smoother and my husband always smelling good. My only problem is when I received my purchase there was one of the body wash that was busted. Apparently was done before my post office had received it. But other than that I'm happy with my purchase.
Watered Down, Left My Hair Stringy 1
Joslyn M. from your mom's house
I have thick, straight hair and was looking for a moisturizing conditioner. Unfortunately, this one felt very watered down and I had to use a handful amount. Even then it left my hair stringy and tangled. I much prefer the Jamaican black castor oil leave-in conditioner, which is a 10/10.
Still No Sulfates, Don't Believe The Other Reviews. 5
Sloane from NJ
I'm only reviewing this to say that the product does not contain sulfates now that they changed the packaging to remove that advertisement.... because conditioner almost NEVER contains sulfates??? Sulfates are what makes shampoo lather. They're a cleaning agent. This listing is for the conditioner, not shampoo.
Anyways this combined with the ALSO repackaged manuka honey shampoo, is the first thing that has ever minimized my frizz and fully hydrated my curls in 30 years. Don't bother with the rest. This is the one. Unless your hair doesn't like proteins. But mine does. And if the scent is funny....... gonna say it's a bad batch or someone tampered with it in store. It's not the product. Been using this forever.

It used to be sulfate free but not it's not and I am worried it will damage my hair. It used to be good however.
Does not rinse out or condition my hair 1
Fine and thick hair from New York
To start I have straight, fine and thick hair (I know those things don't go together, ask my hairdresser). I rinsed my hair the normal amount, and it felt a little dry. Ok. After towel drying I noticed flecks of it in in my hair (not dandruff). I had to get back in the shower and rinse it again. I followed the directions on the bottle. It also didn't feel soft like with my other condition. I will be trying to return this (my first time returning at Ulta). For other hair types this may be great, but for my hair -1/10
Loved the formula befor but, now it has sulfates. 3

They changed the formula. I was comparing ingredients and the list changed too. We will see how it messes with my hair.
great conditioner. it works 4
howtolookhot101 from undisclosed
great conditioner. it works really well for me bc I have super thick hair. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with thin straight hair or super oily hair. But for thick or curly or coarse hair shea moister provides a lot of moister and shine, which I really appreciate. I also like the pump top.
Smells like a cigar 2

It smells like a cigar. I can't stand it! Which is too bad because it works fairly well for my coarse natural curly hair. Will not buy it again.
My favorite shampoo! Love 5

My favorite shampoo! Love them so much. It's cruelty free, made by black women, and overall just the best for all hair types! I have curly hair and it is my favorite. I am satisfied and it is very cheap as well.SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Rinse Out Conditioner
I follow the curly 5
allie90 from undisclosed
I follow the curly girl method which makes it difficult to find a conditioner free of parabens, sulfates, and silicones. This conditioner is a great option! I have low porosity hair and this doesn't weigh my hair down as long as I rinse it out completely. If not, it will look greasy. What I love most is that it helps detangle and it also smooths.
Keeps my hair moisturized 4

Keeps my hair moisturized all the way to wash day. I recommend this for curly hair that drys out fast
When haircare costs literal blood, sweat, and tears... 1
GMac from Chicago
I have long thick wavy hair, and based on reviews thought this might be a good option to try to help retain moisture during the winter months. However, after applying in the shower, I immediately felt like my hair had turned to straw. When it came time to combing my hair before drying, I had huge knots and tangles, sending me back to my early years of my mother tearing through my tangled hair that I was positive had been torn out of my bloody scalp when she was done. Once I dried my tears, I then went to dry my hair; even though I had brushed through the seemingly endless knots, my hair quickly recoiled and the knots regenerated tenfold. It felt like someone had put glue on straw. I actually checked the bottle at this point to make sure I didn't, in fact, mistaken a bottle of modge podge for my conditioner. I did not. I will say, once I was able to force my way through the relentless torture and knots, my hair did turn out pretty soft and feeling lighter. The suffering was not worth the turnout however, and I can safely say I won't be purchasing this ever again.
Didn't work 1

This left my hair feeling horrible it looked super damaged after was hoping it would work because of the great reviews and because I have tried other Shea products with great results but this just didn't work with my hair will go back to Maui.
Hair is dry and tangled 1
Kellz from San Antonio
I've been searching for a different shampoo and conditioner. I've been using the same brand for years. Wanted to try something new. This was recommended to me as I want something to reduce breakage. I am transitioning from relaxers. The shampoo does lather well for my hair. I noticed once I rinsed it my hair was very dry. I used this conditioner as well and my hair was still dry. I also use other oils on my hair after washing and wrap my hair at night. Next 2 days it's still dry. My last relaxer was 3 months ago and I have fine hair. It was hard to comb & tangled after the conditioner where usually with a wide tooth comb I can still get through it easily. I had the conditioner on for 30 min with a bag. I will try it one more time & leave it on for 5-10 min. Maybe that will help. I want to like this product as I trust my resource that referred me to it.

I moved to an arid climate recently and have been experimenting with new ways to keep my curls happy. This adds moisture without weighing them down and seems to do the trick!

WHERE DO I START 5

THIS CONITIONER IS SO FREAKING AMAZING. My hair is very frizzy, thick and knotted so I use this when detangling and lord it make my hair so unbelivably soft and managible. About a month ago I ran out and so I had to use one of my old one from a differnt brand. And it was NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS.

Smells great and leaves my hair feeling soft. I love that the product isn't too watery and creates the slip that I look for in a conditioner
