My hair journey has had so many ups and downs. I have went from perms, to natural, to bleaching, to dying , to cutting ,etc. I have done everything to my hair. There was a point in my life that I wanted to dye my hair blue.In April of 2016, I took on that experience. I had to bleach my hair a lot be...cause my hair was such a dark brown it was hard to turn my hair blonde. After bleaching it so much I had to dye my hair a grayish color so that the blue didn't turn my hair green. Once I finally got my hair blue, I took care of it for about a month. After that month, I was putting excessive heat to my hair such as flat ironing it every week, possibly everyday. I loved the color so much I didn't want any other hair style than it being bone straight. After putting so much heat on it with the flat irons, my hair was completely damaged and got extremely short. I was self conscious about myself because my hair was apart of me and seeing it so unhealthy was heartbreaking. For a while I didn't want to touch my hair so I started getting weave , but that wasn't a good route either because their was still excessive heat being put on my leave-out. After I experienced 3 months with damaged , dry , brittle, unhealthy hair I knew something had to be done.I began to educate myself about natural hair and what healthy hair truly is. I read so many stories and watched videos from other people about their hair journeys. I knew I could get my hair back to what it was before all the chemicals.It just takes a little patience. With reading stories and viewing pictures, I learned about a company called Shea moisture products for natural hair. I started using Jamaican Black castor oil shampoo and conditioner, which is suppose to grow, restore, and strengthen hair, with coconut and hibiscus curl smoothie. From July 2016 to December 2016, I went on a no heat and protective hair styles, such as bantu knots plan. I can honestly say these 3 products helped my hair tremendously. It grew back to its original length, it is really thick and full, and is extremely healthy.I strongly recommend these products if you are going through a color damage dilemma or just trying to grow your hair. Shea Moisture products can be used for any texture of hair. You just have to find what works for your hair. These products are honestly worth the money you pay.
