How to Use

I had never used elf products before, but I'd been looking for a cheap alternative to some things I wanted to try and add to my makeup routine. This HD powder is beautiful, if you know how to use it right. Yes, it's loose and powdery, so be careful not to tip the container upside down, even closed, or else when you open it there will be a mess. I'd also avoid using the puff it comes with to apply the product, use a complete coverage brush (but keep the puff thing in the box because it helps the powder stay in and not fly everywhere when you open it) It doesn't smell, I have combo/sensitive skin that it didn't bother, and it takes a little getting used to applying it.
It doesn't magically hide all flaws, but I noticed a definite softness to my features, and in pictures I look amazing
Also, don't overuse and abuse! I saw a lot of reviews complaining they got a chalky effect, and I did too, after I applied a little too much. Less is more with this product, and trying to focus on the spots you want to soften is a better idea than going for all-over (For me, that's smile-lines, eye lines, and pores).
I have fair skin, so I got the white one, I really love the effect, but for people with darker skin tones, I'd suggest going with the darker colors or risk looking chalky.
Overall I recommend this product, and I was super impressed, especially with the price difference, compared to other things on the market.
Also works great to set lipstick (using a tissue between your lips and the powder).
I've added a picture, sans any other makeup but the HD powder. The left side of my face has it applied, the right doesn't. I can definitely see a softening of my features, and an evening of my blotchy skin tone. Especially under and around my eyes! So ladies, decide for yourselves ;)
If you are going to buy this powder be careful when you use it. If you are going to use it at night then great. Any type of harsh lighting or camera flash will give you a white cast where ever you apply it. Specially if you use it over foundation. Also, the thin formula would be great if it didn't create such a mess. You loose too much powder even by opening it. If you have a medium to dark skin tone this will look a little unnatural. You can see the product in the surface instead of being more blendable.

This has become my go-to powder to set my makeup and reduce shine lightly. It doesn't take much to do the job. This doesn't produce a heavy matte effect - just light and natural. Works great using just a little product with a big fluffy brush.

I have been repurchasing this HD powder in white for years. It is very soft, finely milled and it goes on translucent. It does a good job of setting my makeup. I do not bake and I haven't had any issues with taking pictures while wearing this powder.

I dont like having a ton of products to use everyday but this is something easy I will buy over and over. Great for the summer to get matte results.

This product really surprised me especially for the price! I use it after I put on my concealer and my concealer doesn't crease, overall great product!

I use this powder whenever I do my makeup. I stock up when there is a sale because this powder is one of the best with a soft blurring effect. My pores and shiny oils disappear like magic.

Have bought this 3 times now and use it every day. I have stopped using any other powders.

This powder is amazing! I don't bother with baking, never worked for me, always looked cakey. I sweep a small amount under my eyes to set the 16 hour hydrating concealer and the combo lasts a full day. I've also been leaning into a full face of cream products with summer on its way and with just a quick brush of this powder over my whole face, I'm set. Don't sleep on this powder.

This product is nice in that it works by setting my makeup and making it smooth, but it is super messy. I also think that the yellow shade is way too neon.

I bought this about two months ago its pretty good BUT it leaves a white cast when taking pictures with flash

This powder is so fine that it reminds me of cornstarch... like i literally feel like i'm setting my face with cornstarch because times were tough and i used to do that so i know the exact feeling of it and they're the exact same. my skin felt tight and super cakey and super dry even though i used it with a brush with a super light hand. i also like to highlight my t-zone but it makes my lighter concealers turn ORANGE and it's a white powder??? make that make sense
maddy from Sacramento
AMAZING! I have rosacea so my t-zone is super oily and this stuff really works and I don't get oily throughout the day. I fell asleep with my makeup on a couple times and when I woke up it had hardly moved this powder is so good I recommend 100%.

I would rate 5 plus stars!!!!! So affordable, yet gives a high end look and works the Very Best for my super oily self!!! I'm pretty excited to try their color correcting line of powders too :)

It makes your skin look so patchy. It sucks!!! & it leaves white film. I'm very pale skinned and it still shows up white!

I tried picking off a plastic sticker!
had to do it with a key, then it opened and went every where!
I bought the light pink powder it splattered everywhere!
The container is also small, not much left after the plastic lid came completely off!
I thought I would come with a small brush or powder puff to apply it with?
The packaging is not good.
Don't know much about the product yet.
You once sold a white under eye powder,
Will this work the same?
I'm looking for something to make my fine less obvious to seal concealer.
You don't get much for the money, especially when it went everywhere!
I think you need re-evaluate your packaging!

isn't completely finely milled but doesn't cause much problems after tapping brush

I use this to set when needed. My daughter is in college and used mine while she was home one time. She loved it so much that she bought some for herself.

I want to love this powder, but every time I use it it just sucks the moisture out of my face and settles in any line areas. I use very little. I thought my skin type was changing but after reading the other reviews, I think it's the powder.
Yara_So from Yara_So
I like this product because of how well it smooths out my makeup and keeps it set for the whole day. I got the shade corrective yellow, which did color correct my face and makeup really well. The only downside to this product is the flashback.
Molly from NY
This is somewhat drying, but it makes my skin feel very soft! I apply with a fluffy brush after foundation and concealer, then finish with bronzer and blush. I have very oily skin and this helps combat that. I like the sifter so the product doesn't leak out of the container. Overall, a good setting powder for the price. I would recommend for drugstore option.
