After shampooing, thoroughly towel-dry hair to remove excess water. Brush out hair using a detangling brush or comb, and separate into large sections. Place The Half Shot underneath each section and work it gradually from roots to ends, until the section is dry and smooth. The Half Shot can also be used on dry hair to create a smooth, finished look. For defined curls and waves, use vertically throughout the hair. For volume at the roots, use horizontally at the crown.

Left my hair silky and shiny
I really liked how the this product worked! I've tried a few blow dry round brushes and this is my favorite by far. It left my hair shiny and silky with little to no frizz. It didn't feel like it was tugging on my hair at all, like other round blow dry brushes have.

The bane of my existence
I write this in anguish and agony, this product ruined my life. I'm a 17 year old girl and my hair is gone I thoroughly followed all instructions yet over the course of a few months all of my long luscious blonde hair was ripped from my scalp. I wouldn't wish this product on my worst enemy

Easy to use, gentle
This tool is easy to use and it works for me. I have thin, fine, straight hair with some flyaway hairs on top. I like the cold shot which locks in a sleek, slightly curled-under ends effect. BUT my DryBar Half Shot styling results are the same as just using a small hair dryer and 2" round brush. If you have thick hair or are seeking a dramatic styling tool, this tool WON'T be powerful enough for your needs. The tool is much bigger than i was expecting so it won't be efficient to pack when traveling, IMO.
Do not recommend
I was looking for a blow dry brush that would really add volume to my fine, straight hair. I have a bob so I wanted something smaller. Unfortunately, this is not the answer. High is too much and too hot, low barely blows air and is still really hot. It did add volume however, it left my hair frizzy and dry feeling when my hair is usually not frizzy and Isa otherwise healthy. I am returning.
Left my fine hair super frizzy
For context I have fine, wavy shoulder length hair. I bought this during the 21 days of beauty, after debating between it and the Revlon One step root booster. But at 50% off figured I would splurge for the dry bar. I have the larger Revlon and love it I just have short hair and the barrel was too big. So the first day I did my hair it was incredibly frizzy, and with the Revlon it's usually very smooth. I had used a new product so I thought it might be the product. But I decided to go by the Revlon one shot as well and do a comparison. I used the same product in my hair and then split it into and dried my left side with the Revlon and my right side with a dry bar. The Revlon side was noticeably shinier and smoother. I thought maybe it was just me, so I asked my husband which side looked better. He can barely ever tell when I do anything and immediately he said "oh your left side looks way better." So I'll be returning the drybar. I had read a ton of reviews and apparently it works great for some people's hair but it was a disaster for mine. Sorry about the photo, no makeup done, and I didn't finish my hair, but I was so shocked I just wanted to take a picture right away!
Doesn't last
The product works so well when it works, but I've only had this product for a couple of months and this morning it just wouldn't turn on. Very disappointed to say the least.
Don't purchase if you have dry, frizzy, color treated hair
I bought the drybar half shot blow dry and curling brush because i love my drybar doubleshot and assumed this model would work just as well. Unfortunately, this one didnt measure up. I purchased it because my hair is shorter now and the double shot is a bit too big for some sections. Note, i have naturally dry and frizzy hair so smoothing technology is SUPER inportant. Sadly, this tool didnt smooth my hair well at all. I was up in the air about buying the hot tools black gold blow dryer brush thats the same size because i love my hot tools straightener. After i exchanged the drybar blow dryer/curler for the hot tools equivalent, i couldn't be happier, MUCH better at smoothing my hair. Save yourself $50 and go with hot tools.
