The highly pigmented L.A. Girl Gel Eyeliner applies smoothly and easily to create a sharp wing, graphic liner, or smoky eye that lasts all day.
How to Use
Rated 3.1 out of 5 stars
I haven't used gel liner in a long time because I always had problems with it the smudging in the past. Never tried L.A. Girl's brand before and since they are cruelty-free AND cheap I thought I'd give it a go! So far I really really like it. I did a swatch on my hand when I first got it and was pleasantly surprised by the dark pigmentation for the first swipe. It dries down pretty quickly and was quite difficult to wash off with just hand soap and water. I guess for some people that could be a con for them, but for someone who has oily skin and their make up wears down pretty easily, this is a huge win because it's not going to budge. Plus with actual make up remover, it does come off pretty easily.
I highly recommend this for anyone who has the same issues I have and are looking for a poppin' liner that won't break the bank!
I was looking for a nice opaque black liner and was wanting to switch back to gel liners from liquid, so I thought I'd give this a try since it wasn't very expensive. It applied very sheer, and though you could probably build it up, that's not really an option for clean cut wings. When I tried to add more, the brush just wiped away the existing product and didn't deposit any more eyeliner even when I loaded the brush with a decent amount. I saw some good reviews so maybe I just got a dud but it definitely did not seem long wear, as I was able to smudge it with my finger very easily, and it just wasn't the look I was going for. It might work for some people but I should've just shelled out the money in the first place for a higher quality product. I wouldn't recommend this to someone looking for a consistant application with opaque black liner, and especially not for wings.

It's a ok product

I tried the Cosmic black, which has some iridescent shimmer in it. It's been a long time since I tried gel pot liner. I used to use Bobbi Brown's formula in black, gold and copper colors. Those had a bit of shimmer too. This eyeliner started off strong! It was pigmented, but since there was a bit of sparkle it came off as more gray than black. I call it soft black or dark charcoal. I do love the sparkle in this liner. I do not notice smearing or transfer. I use this on top of my eyeshadow. I do not wear fake lashes.
I've been using this gel eyeliner consistently for about 3 months. It's already drying out and that's a bummer. I do have a mixing medium and I am now using this to pull product out of the little jar. I shouldn't have to do this. This should not dry out this fast. I keep doing it because I do like the sparkle in this black eyeliner.
I see a lot of people hating on this eyeliner, but at this pricepoint I'm actually impressed at how well this has worked for me. I think I've established that I love this color and I might just pick up a new one of these knowing it will dry up before I can finish it. I love how easily it goes on. I can get a nice, thin line with the right brush. I love how it stays. I only wish it didn't dry out so fast.
I'm extremely impressed with L.A. Girl. It's not as good as my old Bobbi Brown gel pots but it is definitely amazing for the price paid. Well done, L.A. Girl.

It goes on nicely which makes application pretty easy. But, it doesn't stay for oily eyelids. It smudges on the eyelid. Also the color isn't super black - you could probably apply layers to make it more pigmented, but if you have oily eyelids you would just get a more apparent smudge. I usually set it with powder or an eyeshadow and it helps, but not for a long time.

This is a decent gel liner for it's price, but I have a problem with it crumbling and getting all over my face. It is easy to work with, but the crumbling is a big issue for me

I pair this with the essence liner brush and it works pretty well, sometimes I have to go over it with black eyeshadow, but that doesn't really bother me

I tried to use a swatch of it on the back of my hand before actually using it and I'm really glad I did. It crumbled against the back of my hand, I tried to add some drops to make it easier to use but it ended up just making it opaque. Went in the trash before I even tried to use it, don't waste your money.

smudges horribly. wouldn't recommend. It goes on nicely so I had high hope, but it smudges. I'm going to try setting it with a black eyeshadow and see.

there is a lot of product in this tiny bottle. I've used it about three times so far and I have barely scratched the surface of this pot. Does smudge but I dont need to for long lasting wear

It glides on easy. It's very dark at first but doesn't last all day. About 4 hours and it's smeared.

Looked more blue than black. Was not what I expected.

Does a solid black wing easily, plus the pot is huge! I found the easiest application is with a flat lip style brush to both pat and drag the product in the right spots.
kal from georgia USA
it transfers like crazy! any oil on your eyelid and it's on there.

This is THE WORST EYELINER i have ever used.

I was very displeased with how this eyeliner applied , it was chalky and not as black as I hoped it would be . I wouldn't recommend.

I was so excited to get this because it had been forever since I had a gel eyeliner, I always loved how easy it was to apply. This product is not creamy or smooth in any way. I'm going to give it one more chance.

I can not give this product a fair, because when it came the lid was not screwed on all the way. So I do not know if the product dried out, or if the product is just not good. I would have asked for a refund but it was only 1.60 I think l. Plus I already had to get a refund on a highlighting brush because it cakes broken, so I don't know if it's the product or if Ulta just doesn't take care of its products before it gets to its paying customers.

it's super dry and flakey. i've messed up my eyeliner brush trying to persuade this product. definitely cheap but not good.

It smudges and takes forever to dry. It's hard and chunky to apply. Do not recomend buying.

I absolutely love this product. It was my first time getting a gel/creme eyeliner that you had to apply with a brush but it is AMAZING. I don't know if I'm every going back to my other eyeliner.

I wish I could say that I loved this eyeliner. I was excited to try a gel formula, as it was new to me. This one was a beautiful dark purple and (bonus!) it was on sale. Well, that should've been a clue that it might not be in optimal condition. This stuff arrived dried out and kind of crumbly. I tried to revive it with a little maracuja oil on the tip of the brush but that only made things worse. Maybe the other colors are good but this one was a big NO for me.

The colors are nice, but it is not easy to apply. It is not creamy or smooth at all. I suggest warming it up for a while before applying. Also it says on the package not to use it on the waterline which was disappointing.
