For dry/powder formulas, gently glide your eyeshadow brush over the Black Shadow Switching Sponge in a circular motion to remove pigment; move on to your next color. For wet/cream formulas, dampen the White Shadow Switching Sponge and place back into the center tin to keep the water secluded. Gently glide your brush over the white sponge until pigment is removed; move on to your next color. To clean: Remove sponges from the pan and wash with a makeup brush cleaner. Squeeze out all pigment and water. Lay flat to dry before returning sponges to pan.

Great for small brushes
This is one of the best impulse purchases I've made. It's great for switching the color of small brushes, especially eyeshadow. The only downside is it's fairly small so it's not super helpful for larger brushes.
Helpful for changing eyeshadow colors

The main issue I have is in the packaging. the lid is placed on the bottom of the container so you can see inside while still in the packaging. Trying to get the lid off the bottom is a huge pain. I almost pulled off a nail trying to get it off! If you don't mind that, it's otherwise a really helpful thing to have.
