Sneaky reformulation
I loved and used the old Purifying balm for years, and I hadn't seen anything about a reformulation, but my last order ended up being the new version (which is now "Calming"). I didn't realize it because the packaging barely changed, but the new one smells like Vicks Vaporub and made my skin and eye...

Check expiration date!!
I've repurchased this product several times and was excited to see that it was on sale a few months ago. I purchased on September 29 and just got around to opening the product on December 14 only to find that the expiration date on the bottom of the package reads November 7, 2024. I realized that something was off because the balm is white (old formula) and with the past few containers of this exact product that I've used, the balm was blue (new formula). It appears as though Ulta tried to clear out quickly expiring stock by placing it on sale.
Works great!
I don't wear makeup but have rosacea and find it a challenge to find a good facial cleanser that doesn't dry out my skin or irritate it and this is perfect.
It burned my skin.
I wanted to absolutely love this product so bad but it stunged my face horribly, it burned my skin barrier when i used it. 😭 It worked on many other people's skin, but not mine. (I have sensitive skin/oily.)
cleanses and doesn't irritate my skin
melts away all my makeup. love it
Huge fan of this cleansing balm
I really love this cleansing balm. Just a pea size amount is enough to cut through all my makeup at the end of the day and it removes mascara very well. I follow it up with a micellar water to make sure no residue is left behind, then wash with Cetaphil and moisturize and my skin feels wonderful after. However my eyes will water badly at night if I don't take all the Banila cleanser off with a micellar water. Might just be a me issue as my eyes are sensitive to products.
