Most Helpful Positive Review Great for Beginners I have never tried a cleansing balm like the Banila line. There are four different types of balms in the line, and currently are formulated to suit different skin concerns. I used each for 3 days.
The first one, Clean It Zero Original (pink bottle), is an unscented balm that applies easily. It removed my makeup and left my face feeling refreshed and "minty". No complaints and would use this one again!
The second one I tried, Clean It Zero Purifying (blue bottle), in my opinion is suited for more sensitive skin that is also acne prone. True to its' name, it left my face purified and refreshed. It wasn't harsh, but still felt like it deep cleaned my skin. It did not irritate me or cause any adverse reaction. No complains and would use this one again, too!
The Clean It Zero Nourishing (yellow bottle) in my opinion is suited best for dry skin that requires a little extra moisture, although it would probably work on any type! It felt very "light" compared to the others and had a more subtle affect. Again, no complaints on this one either! I would definitely try it again.
The Clean It Zero Revitalizing (green bottle) was different in that it has a soft smell that is not too overpowering (for me anyways). It is the only one out of the four that had a noticeable scent, and was the only one that felt a little "waxy" after the application. Not a showstopper, as it easily was removed, but it definitely felt like a different texture compared to the rest. I would still use it again, but only if I had no other makeup removed.
To conclude my review, I enjoyed trying each product in this line and figure out what works best for me. I would honestly like to incorporate these products into my routine after quarantine (not wearing as much makeup, haha) as a makeup remover. Each different formula removed my stubborn eyeshadows, mascaras, etc. without any irritation or spreading. These would also be great for a beginner who needs a good pre-cleanser or makeup remover!
Most Helpful Critical Review I'm keeping this but won't re-buy I started using this as step one in my skincare routine, primarily to remove the day's makeup. I saw all the reviews about how it all just melts off and wanted to try. Before this, I was using the makeup eraser, which I had no issues with but I am open to a method that is less aggressive to my skin and maybe less laundry as a bonus. I have also been hearing about double cleansing for a while and I'm ready to get on the bandwagon.
I've only used this a few times. I always use first thing to take off the days makeup and then follow with a cerave foaming cleanser. Each time I used it, I pat dry with a white towel and see some leftover makeup on the towel. This tells me that if there is makeup leftover that I see, there is plenty more that I don't see. I should add that, on the occasions I used it, I was wearing a LOT of makeup. I also wear good quality, longwear type makeup that is meant to stick around. I will try again with my usual weekday makeup, but I think the lesson learned is that I have to stick with the makeup eraser for full glam days. Additionally, my mascara (not waterproof) did not "melt off" as some reviews mentioned, but it did come off with some light scrubbing with my fingertips.

I love cleansing balms, and I feel like compared to other's I've tried (Clinique Take the Day Off, Drunk Elephant Slaai, Farmacy Green Clean) it's much more lightweight and doesn't leave that greasy-feeling residue that's hard to get off, so I love it for my oily skin. So far it's doing a good job of getting all my makeup off. However, I haven't been wearing heavy eye makeup lately so I'm not sure how it would handle that.
Love it! 5

*Gritting will happen.
*You must take the time to massage your skin & MUST Wash off well using a second cleanser (i suggest in the shower).
When i tried it the first time, i did not wash it off well & broke out. Now i know what i am doing & after maybe 4 uses, my pores are almost completely clear. I saw a difference in the first use.
blurry vision 2

This product does remove makeup, but leaves a film on my eyes that causes blurry vision. I finished the product but will not be buying again.
Blurry vision 1

This balm felt good and removed my makeup. But it left me with blurry vision and I couldn't see clearly for several minutes. Will not be repurchasing.
Fantastic! 5

Totally removed makeup without a struggle. Doesn't bother my eyes. The best one I've used.
Excellent balm. 5

I used the pink balm (I got the travel size to see if I would like it). I just read reviews and I think some folks don't realize that this is step one which must then be followed by a second cleanse with a different cleanser. It is really good.

This should have 0 stars 1
Uhhhhh?? from Florida
I don't get the hype I don't have sensitive skin but on the second day using this, it literally burned the skin around my eyes on my eyelid and my under eyes like big red circles!! I've never had a bad experience with makeup remover balms so I don't understand what is going on all I removed was mascara and it wasn't even water proof so it's not like I tugged my eye aggressively… I'm so disappointed and I will not be repurchasing
AMAZING 5

I love this balm. It takes off my waterproof mascara like a dream. I'll never buy another makeup removing product again.
Works great if used correctly! 5

I see people complaining about "residue" with this product and I don't understand… you're supposed to follow the balm with the clean it zero foaming face wash. It's a double cleansing process. If you only use the balm, you will be disappointed. If you use both steps, you'll be very happy with how it removes everything - I seriously have never felt like my face was cleaner than when using this two part system.
Loved it 5

I got a sample of this cleansing balm in a monthly subscription box and loved it so much I decided to purchase the full size. A little goes a long way and it does a great job of removing waterproof eye makeup.
Works somewhat but leaves me blurry eyed 2
Cheyenne from Virginia
I was so excited to try my first cleansing balm based on these reviews but this is not the product for me. It melts most of my makeup away but not all my eyeliner (not waterproof) and it leaves a residue on my face. So I have to go back in and wash my face again with a different cleanser. The worst part is like others it leaves me with blurry vision which is awful. I am using this up and will not be repurchasing.
Pretty Good Balm 4

After trying the Clinique balm I was afraid of not finding another one as good. This one is more affordable and it works really well.
Will not be buying again 1

I was so excited to try this after reading some of the reviews. After trying it, I am disappointed. It leaves a waxy residue, doesn't take makeup off at all like i have to completely do another cleanse wash and micellar water, and it leaves me with blurry vision. I've been using it for a week now and it hasn't changed.
This stuff is awesome 5
Smag from Houston
This is my first time using a cleansing balm and I love it. I use this and then wipe it down with a makeup removing wipe. Then cleanse my face. It feels great and works fast. I really like it and will purchase again.
Even removed spray paint! 5
Steviekp from Washington
Will use for life now! Originally just loved it for a first cleanse to remove makeup, does amazing with mascara and glitters. Then after using a few cans of black spray paint and realizing I had it all over my face and hands, and nothing else worked not even nail polish remover and dawn dish soap and lemon eo, I tried some of the balm and it came right off! Saved me from looking like Zoolander after the coal mine! Will never use anything else!!
Waxy residue 1
Chris from Southern California
I've tried this for a month now and hate it. It leaves a waxy residue and doesn't get all my eye make up off. Don't waste your money.
Pretty good 3
Britt from Ohio
It works pretty well at getting makeup off, but I do need to wipe my eyes with a cotton round to get the residue off instead of it just washing off at the end. Not the best but not bad either!
good stuff 5
Hales from MO
I wanted to try something a little less thick than the Clinique one and having used this some years back, I went ahead and purchased this again. Highly recommend this, especially if you want something that works but doesn't leave much of a residue. I purchased the original one.
I wouldn't buy ever again 2

This made my skin on my eyes dry. I will not buy this again.
