I received the ghd Chronos Curve Max Wand for free in exchange for my honest review. This is a really nice high quality curling wand. It worked well to give me beautiful loose curls. It took about 45 minutes (I have long hair) as someone who is far from professional at curling hair. I do wish it came with a "how to" guide to show newbies and remind people who haven't curled hair with a wand in a while how to do it. The glove that comes with it is pretty low quality; it doesn't fit well at all and is awkward to use. I have a glove from another well known brand that I used instead that actually fits properly. It's incredible how quickly this wand heats up; you don't have to wait around for long. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this wand, would recommend it and look forward to using it a lot more.

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] My wife has a similar curling wand at a similar pricepoint so she was very excited to try out the ghd Chronos Curve Max Wand. The product promises "curl-responsive technology for up to 3x faster curling & HD results with shiny, loose waves that last all day". The wand promises to have no extreme heat damage but from the start she was very concerned with the wand's high heat that was not adjustable. The product includes an Aurora Glove to protect the hand from burns but the thin fabric did not feel heavy enough. My wife was still feeling too much heat coming through the glove for her comfort while using the wand. She went and got a much thicker heat-resistant glove that came with another styling tool and used that glove to finish styling her hair. Even after watching multiple product usage videos she still could not achieve the results shown by the company. The waves were very loose and did not stay in place long. By the time she had finished styling the other half of her head, the waves on the first side had already fallen out. It took her three total uses for every section of her hair to achieve the one single hair style shown in the after photos. Within a half hour, most of the waves she had worked so hard to set had already disappeared. This style-fallout is not normal for her with other heat styling tools. I did not like the smell of her hair after use. It had an almost burnt smell. She is not sure if that is from the heat protectant spray she used or not, but I have never noticed the smell before. Her final verdict is that it would work much better on extremely long and very thick hair. She thinks the tool needs the ability to adjust the heat beyond the default 365°F setting with at least two additional lower temp options. She also thinks the included glove is useless. It needs to be much thicker like the ones included by rival brands. The only bonuses she noted were the incredibly fast heating cycle, the no-tangle cord, and the sleek look of the product.

That said, I'm not a huge fan of the tapered end of the barrel. I personally prefer a barrel that's straight all the way through, as it gives more uniform curls. If you're looking for a styling tool that delivers volume and quick heat-up, this one's definitely worth trying.

The barrel is great for wavy hairstyles, I like that I can use it for less time for beachy loose waves and hold the curl a little longer on the barrel for even more wave. I think I need a little more practice until I get the technique. This also holds the style pretty long and leaves your hair shiny and soft. I will have this for years for sure!
