I have fine, thin hair so I can't comment on how it is for thick hair (though I imagine it's great!) but it's perfect for mine. From towel dried to dry - styled with a round brush, takes less than 5 minutes. It's quieter than my previous dryer and the little nozzle thing on the end stays put (my old one continuously fell off). My hair comes out smooth and does not seem to incur any damage. I also like it's sunny, yellow color. It's actually bigger and heavier than I expected, but the folding handle will still make it pretty good for travel and it's light enough to be manageable with my carpal tunnel and arthritis issues.
Not quite as good as the original
I am a HUGE fan of my Drybar Buttercup blow dryer...I tell everyone who will listen about how great it is and how it has changed the texture of my hair for the better. So I was very excited when a smaller/travel sized-version came out. I bought it, tried it and was a bit disappointed. While I am glad it has a high and low setting for the airflow, because I do use both, there is no temperature setting, and even on low, the heat is way too hot. Plus, I always use the cool shot button, which this one does NOT stay pressed in, and does not get that cool...I will probably try it one or two more times before fully committing to keeping or returning.
Stopped working 2 months after barely any use.
0 stars. Do not approve
Bought the first one and the flexible handle (hinge) broke right out of the box. Ulta (10 stars fully approve) replaced it no questions asked. I used it that night and while the foldable handle was still felt like less than a good design, the drying part worked perfectly. Packed dryer carefully in the center of a large suitcase. When we arrived in Sicily, guess what was broken? Yep, that hinge snapped due to luggage handling. I understand that this kind of hinge can be tricky, but Bionic has figured it out for less money. Drybar, you need to find some female engineers.
Not worth the money
I loved this hair dryer because of the color and received it as a Christmas gift. It works really well but, the handle separates when it's folded and it takes some effort when opening to have the handle seel properly. Because it was a gift, I didn't want to say anything or have it returned. If I had bought it for myself, I would have returned it for something else though.
Disappointed in the quality
The travel dryer I was very happy to find, turned out to be a huge disappointment. Upon opening, the plastic of the foldable handle was separated at the seam so it would not lock the dryer into position.
I am returning it and by the looks of the quality in general I will not try another one. For the price, it should be very good quality. It does not deserve even one star.
Not for Travel!
I was looking for a hairdryer that would pack small for international travel. I wanted something with a small footprint and had hoped this what it. When it arrived it was literally almost the exact same size as my regular hairdryer, but with a folding handle. So, I returned it and purchased a much smaller dual-voltage hairdryer with excellent reviews.
