Most Helpful Positive Review Excellent dryer! I have fine, thin hair so I can't comment on how it is for thick hair (though I imagine it's great!) but it's perfect for mine. From towel dried to dry - styled with a round brush, takes less than 5 minutes. It's quieter than my previous dryer and the little nozzle thing on the end stays put (my old one continuously fell off). My hair comes out smooth and does not seem to incur any damage. I also like it's sunny, yellow color. It's actually bigger and heavier than I expected, but the folding handle will still make it pretty good for travel and it's light enough to be manageable with my carpal tunnel and arthritis issues.
Most Helpful Critical Review Not quite as good as the original I am a HUGE fan of my Drybar Buttercup blow dryer...I tell everyone who will listen about how great it is and how it has changed the texture of my hair for the better. So I was very excited when a smaller/travel sized-version came out. I bought it, tried it and was a bit disappointed. While I am glad it has a high and low setting for the airflow, because I do use both, there is no temperature setting, and even on low, the heat is way too hot. Plus, I always use the cool shot button, which this one does NOT stay pressed in, and does not get that cool...I will probably try it one or two more times before fully committing to keeping or returning.

I was looking for a hairdryer that would pack small for international travel. I wanted something with a small footprint and had hoped this what it. When it arrived it was literally almost the exact same size as my regular hairdryer, but with a folding handle. So, I returned it and purchased a much smaller dual-voltage hairdryer with excellent reviews.

A grinding sound less than two years old…
Great until it started smoking 3

I loved this until it started smoking on me mid use yesterday then completely diet out. I've only had it since Christmas
Baby Buttercup Won't Let You Down! 4
Sunny from Arizona
I have a short undercut pixie and normally love the regular Buttercup hair dryer. Got this one for travel and this Baby Butter up will not let you down! Hi setting is quite powerful. Low setting good too. Cool Shot not great—significantly reduces air flow. The choice of two efficient concentrators is a plus. Overall very easy to use and really does a terrific job for a smaller dryer.
Great Blow-dryer 5
Raylene from Los Angeles
I've had this blowdryer for a couple years now and it's great! It drys my thick, wavy hair quick and thoroughly. I gets pretty hot, so I always use the low heat setting and it still gets the job done.
Blow Drier Will Die 1
Mari from Florida
Had blow dryer for 2 months and died in the middle of me using it! Been waiting on a replacement from Ulta, but based on other reviews, I'm expecting it to die as well, as it seems it's a recurring issue with this dryer. Move on to another option so you don't have to deal with the hassle of a short-lasting product.
Do NOT buy this hairdryer! It lasted me a total of 1.5 month 1
Suzanne from Georgia
The hairdryer stopped working after only 1.5 months
Best Dryer I Have Ever Had! 5
Marbie from Va
I have had this dryer for over 4 years and it has more than exceeded my expectations! As a woman with natural kinky hair, finding a blow dryer that can deliver what I need is typically a difficult task and I settled for lower end dryers for years. Drybar delivers an exceptional finish and the baby buttercup does it at 9 the weight! I love the face that you are able to travel with this one yet it still works just as well as the larger one!
Two dryers down 2
Jackie D from Iowa
I purchased this hair dryer in March 2019. It died summer 2020 with a two-year warranty. I paid $30 to ship it back for a replacement. The replacement died in April 2021.
When it works, it's a good hair dryer, but two dryers in two years for the price of the dryer plus shipping for replacement is steep.
Love It 5

Don't buy the negative hype about this dryer. I've had mine for like 5 years and it's never let me down. I bought it when my travel dryer died and I ended up using this as my everyday dryer. It would be nice if it had different temperature settings, but I still think it works well and dries my hair pretty quickly. I also use a blow dry accelerant by Bumble & Bumble so I think the drying time is ample. Most importantly, it travels well, is compact, and super light so drying is easy.
Dries my hair fast! 5
Lucy from Maryland
I bought this a few days ago for a recent trip and I've used it twice So far I'm really impressed!! It dries my hair faster than my full size hairdryer and makes my hair feels really soft and bouncy. I like that it doesn't blow super hot air but yet it still does the job well. I haven't tried to use it overseas but I did see the switch on the handle to change the voltage. It's really worth the price!
This dryer dies less than or within 12 months! 2
AZ from TX
I bought this dryer 12 months ago and it stopped working recently. It did a great job drying my hair. As per one of the reviewer's recommendation, I tried changing the voltage knob and it didn't work. For the price, you'd hope this company would try to rectify this common issue. I suggest for anyone wanting to purchase this travel dryer, don't and keep looking at the next top rated dryer.
Cannot get through a blow dry without dying 2
Vic B from New York
I bought this product less than a year ago from here and only used it on infrequent weekend trips. It dies multiple ties while blowdrying my hair and I need to wait and go again. It is very frustrating. This shouldn't be happening for the infrequent amount of times that the blow dryer was used.
It was ok 3

I really liked the size of this hair dryer. I travel a lot so I was excited for try one that might fit in my suitcase better. I have very thick very curly hair so it may not just be made for my hair type. The diffuser attachment frequently fell off which is a major downside since that's really the only thing I use a hair dryer for. But what I thought was really strange was that it would cut out frequently. Almost like it got too hot and would just automatically switch to this very low setting. It did dry my hair really well and I loved the texture of my curly hair and my hair straight afterwards. I think this travel size just didn't have the power for the thickness of my hair 🤷🏽♀️ Just guessing.
Best dryer hands down 5

Favorite hair dryer I've ever had! I got it for Christmas and still going strong! Cuts blow dry time in half!

The best blow dryer ever had!!! My hair looks like I stepped out of the salon. This blow dryer has a lot of power and it comes with two diffusers. It was worth every dollar I spent.
Not worth it 1
Thrifty shopper from Philadelphia, PA
I bought this hair dryer so excited to get it. The hairdryer does not blow hot air all the time. After having it for only a few months it stopped working and completely burned out.
Buyer Beware 1
Rebecca L from Wisconsin
I bought two of these blow-dryers in the last twelve months. They worked great, while they lasted. Both blow dryers lasted about 4 months. I loved the blow-dryer so much after my first purchase, that I bought a replacement. I was hoping it was a fluke. I made a point to keep my receipt and packaging for the second purchase. Unfortunately, 4 months later this blow-dryer also stopped working. I might go through the warranty process but unfortunately they will just send me another blow-dryer with a 4 month expiration date instead of a refund.
Great for travel! 5
trenallen from Houston, TX
To the reviews that say it's not dual voltage, burned up, turned bright red etc. it IS dual voltage but has a tiny switch at the front bottom of the dryer that you have to turn to the proper setting. It's in the footnotes of FAQ on their website and I missed it at first, too. My dryer was doing the same but I stopped using and once I turned the little knob it works perfect. Great for travel and works just as well as the full size for on the go! I have the full size at home but when we travel pack carry on only. I love this dryer. Worth every penny!
I lo e the blow lots of power 5

Stopped Working! 1
Rebecca from Milwaukee, WI
I bought this blow dryer less than 6 months. It stopped working. Smells like something is burning, and motor slows down and then turns off immediately after turning on
Not worth it! 1
Laura from New Jersey
I had this dryer for about 12 months. Its not as hot anymore and takes way too long to dry my hair. I wanted to love this but looking back I should've went with something else.
Do NOT recommend 2
Gabby from Pa
Great wile it lasts, I bought this blow dryer not even 6 months ago. The inside turned red and started sparking and smoking. I would not recommend getting this dryer. It's not worth how much it costs.
