I've tried it all...
I've tried almost every shampoo imaginable. From the cheapest to the most expensive... I don't know how I could have overlooked it. I remember using this shampoo as a teenager but I happened to try it again as a sample in a hotel!!! I was hooked and kept the bottle as I went in search of the sha...

New formula smells awful!
I've been using this product for years but they recently changed the formula and it smells awful! I compared my old bottle to the new one just to confirm and the ingredients have changed. Never going to use this product again. It's unfortunate as it's been a favorite and works well but it's not wort...

Did the scent change?
Hair Type Straight Hair
Did they change the scent of this shampoo? Granted it has been a few years since I bought this shampoo but I remember it smelling like bubblegum but in the best way. I'm super disappointed that the bottle I bought yesterday does not smell the same as my old one.
Too many changes
I had purchased this product for so many years, then this "new" formula came out. I can't believe how many different ingredients there are. I even had to switch products due to a allergy to this shampoo.
I buy this product again and again
Hair Type Straight Hair
I have used Paul Mitchell's Awahupi shampoo for years. It adds volume and shine to my hair. I highly recommend this product.
It's Eh
I have wavy/ curly hair, I wanted to try something new and I've always heard this was a good brand. Ive been using it for 3 weeks now and its not badd..but It does dry out your hair. Even when its wet It feels dry. Im using the conditioner that goes with It, doesnt help. I wouldn't buy this again. I tried, im still going to use the bottle becasue I paid for It.
By far MY FAVORITE shampoo/conditioner
I am a blonde that regularly gets bleach/lifts in my hair for upkeep. I had to change hairdressers as mine that i used for multiple years moved out of state. Well, needless to say, this new one left my hair feeling and looking like straw. I have take a break from bleaching my hair and it seemed like it was never healing, always breaking… i lost my waist length hair due to trying to salvage the damage. THIS SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER HAS MADE A TON OF DIFFERENCE! I just began using it within the last 3 weeks and OMG!!! I am IN LOVE WITH THIS STUFF! Please dont ever discontinue this product! You have a forever buyer here!!!

I have used the Extra Body Shampoo for 30 years. It is good for fine straight hair. Now that my hair seems more dry, I still use it, but less often, alternating with other shampoos or skipping days. My question is: is the Awapuhi shampoo just as good for fine straight hair that will be limp and look oily (even if it's not) with many moisturizing shampoos? Or will it not have the extra-body effect, or make medium-light fine straight hair look flat?
- Asked by Occam
- Official Answer By Paul Mitchell - Brand EngageAwapuhi Shampoo is a naturally moisturizing formula that adds some volume, while Extra-Body Shampoo primarily focuses on providing volume and body. Was this answer helpful to you

What happened to all of the natural ingredients? I no longer see rosemary, white ginger, jojoba, aloe. I thought I saw that the formula didn't change but it must have because I compared my old bottle to this one.
