Most Helpful Positive Review Worth the hype!!
I've always been too cheap to pay $20 for a blender when I can get one that works for $5. I'm not afraid to spend however much money on good makeup or even brushes but it just seemed silly to spend it on a little pink egg (spoiler alert:I was wrong!!). Well since they came to Ulta I was dying to try one and get it "free" when I cashed in my points recently. Now I'm in LOVE! It's so different than all my other blenders, it soaks up less product, it's so much bouncier and softer and it just simply works better imo. So glad I went ahead and got two! Ultas reward system really is the absolute best also.
Most Helpful Critical Review Advice: Don't Waste Your Money
I was so excited to try the original Beautyblender. Being a budget buyer, I've used many Real Techniques sponges before I got around to finally using the original. Of course I expected it to be much better than the Real Techniques sponges.
There were a couple things that led me quickly fall out of love with my BB:
1. The sponge releases a lot of pink color. Pink has not stopped washing out of the sponge since I got it over a month ago. The only thing I use to clean my sponges is soap and water and it works totally fine for my other sponges. But for whatever reason, the water was always coming out pink even after I'd gotten every last bit of the makeup out. I even found pink color getting on my face from the sponge. That's a huge no-no.
2. The pores are HUGE and don't be surprised if you find an abnormally large pore or two on the sponge. Probably also the reason why it ends up absorbing and wasting so much makeup even after it's been soaked in water properly. I found myself to be using twice as much product as I did with my Real Techniques sponge.
3. Doesn't spread makeup evenly. I've actually found some knockoff sponges doing a better job of laying down foundation evenly and flawlessly.
My advice: Don't waste your money. Seriously. You're better off buying a Real Techniques sponge. Not only is it half the price, it also works much better, doesn't absorb as much product and definitely doesn't leave pink spots on your face.
Maybe if you've never used a makeup sponge before, you'd be wowed by the BB, but if you've used any other sponges, you know the BB could be so much better and isn't at all worth the hype.
So for budget buyers and non-budget buyers alike, save yourselves and get you a Real Techniques sponge. This nonsense isn't worth your hard earned money. Go buy yourself some good food with that money. Or another lipstick.

I do not see all the hype about it.. bought one because of all the reviews.. not really impressed.

The beauty blender is soft and blended my makeup nicely!
fred from los angeles ca
i've purchased several of these over the years. they've always been soft, blended perfectly, etc. but for whatever reason the one i recently purchased is so ROUGH. i don't know how or why it's changed. it doesn't feel like any of the beauty blenders i've owned before, and also seems to have way too much pink dye. it feels way too harsh on my face to use, which has never been an issue before.
i don't know what's changed, but this blender feels like a dish sponge. i'm not sure this is something i'll ever repurchase again despite doing so several times.

Yup, it's as great as it's hype. A great tool. Good tip: ALWAYS get your blender wet before you use it, and make sure to CLEAN it regularly.
Not all that great. Too much hype

Thank God I bought it on sale. I dont know what's all the hype. It's too small. blends like any cheap sponge nothing impressive. Ladies dont spend your $ store brand is probably better. I will stick to real technique sponges they are WAY better and def more affordable. Sorry

I've purchased many of the Original Beautyblenders from Ulta and have loved them. Recently I purchased one that appeared to be a much brighter pink, after rinsing under cold water pink dye filled the sink. I exchanged it and the new one did the same. Not only did the pink dye leak but my foundation did not apply as it had in the past.
0/5 Stars if I could!! 😡

First off, I was pretty confident that this was not even the makeup blender that I purchased... I always get the orange one with the nice flat edge on it for blending purposes, plus I like that you can leave it sitting on the flat edge to dry after cleaning. This one showed up in the mail, and I figured it can't be that different, right? WRONG. This one was significantly smaller than any other beauty blender I have ever used. Also, even after multiple uses the material is scratchy and rough on my skin. I was frustrated by the lack of a flat Edge for blending purposes and also for being able to set it on its side to dry after cleaning. BUT-- the absolute WORST element of this product is that it is super duper filled with dye! Pink dye was coming off on my hands, on my skin, and every time I've washed it. I've used it maybe 6 times and each time I wash it it's still rings out in the sink with bright pink dye! I can't imagine this is good to be putting on your skin, so I have stopped using it. No matter how cheap these things are, it's not worth it!

Love this beauty blender. I have tried a couple off brand blenders and they work ok, but nothing like this blender. It's going to for sure be my go to always.

Love this blender! No comparison to other brands.

I use the beauty blender al the time for my makeup because I feel it works best!!
Perfect for foundation and powder application
Susan from Vacaville, CA
I used a different brand's makeup sponge for several years. It was ok, but the Beautyblender is much better. I am especially impresseded at how well it applies loose powder. I previously used a powder brush, but was very careful because it made me look too dry and overly made up. This gives a flawless application. I am so impressed.
Best Beauty Blender
Dbr_21 from My House
Compared to other I bought this is the best one so far. The sponge and very squishy unlike like others that are tough and hard to squish. They are also very moldable when pressed against the face.
Worth the money !!

Best sponge ever. Blends well, is full coverage unlike the Morphe one. Doesn't waste as much product.
Not worth the money

I had high hopes for this blender. Everyone always raved bout how amazing it was. I was super excited when I got it but super disappointed when I used it. The material was very porous cheap feeling. It left strange lines and holes all over my face. I ended up having to use my old sponge. I've had better results and smoother blending from cheap sponges from Big Lots. I'm definitely sticking with my Morphe sponge.
The Best in the Game
Emily S from San Diego
I've gone back and forth between this sponge and other brands like Real Techniques, Morphe etc and although I do like those sponges there's just something about the actual Beauty Blender that makes a difference!! I know this is higher priced but I definitely think it's worth it. If you take care of your sponge it can last a very long time and I honestly love how light weight it is and blends my makeup so fast! Highly recommend!!
Aracely from Porterville CA
To be honest for the price it's not all that great. I personally believe Real Techniques is wayyy better. Don't get me wrong this product is good but real techniques is the way to go.
Not worth the money
CPowell from Guthrie Center
Had high hopes for this product but it was pretty disappointing. I'll be sticking to my other sponges that are half the cost.
I would buy this product again

I have always tried Different ones because I didn't want to pay for the full price of this used Morphy elf etc. but I always come back to this one
The best makeup blender!
Krissy from California
I wash the blender before each use, and use it damp to apply liquid foundation using the "dabbing" method. It blends my makeup perfectly and it much softer and more flexible than any other beauty blender I have tried.
