Most Helpful Positive Review Fabulous Flat Iron I have to say I agree with the comments on this flat iron. I have had this flat iron for 4 years, it still works the way it did the first time I used it. I have fine hair, but a lot of it, which gets frizzy in humidity. The plates glide easily through my hair, it doesn't get stuck like many other inexpensive flat irons do. It makes my hair shiny that lasts until I wash my hair again, and keeps the frizz to a minimum in humid weather. I use this flat iron mostly to curl my hair. I have a Babyliss curling iron as well, but I use this flat iron to curl my hair almost every day, and the curls hold very well! I would definitely recommend this styling tool! It is so worth the money!
Most Helpful Critical Review Hate it! So......I too wanted to love this flat iron. I went to Ulta initially to buy a Chi but an employee that was helping me indicated that she hated the Chi and that the Babyliss was 100% better. I get home eager to flat iron my daughters hair after washing and taking her braids out. The iron heats up fast and has multiple settings which is good. However, you can barely hold the iron where you need to keep it tight within your grip because the handle is too hot! It did not get my daughter's hair straight at all and it did not smooth any parts of her hair including the ends. If you have to do several passes through the hair and it's still not straight at the highest setting then it just simply is not a good flat iron. If your hair is super thin it may work but other than that, I wouldn't recommend this iron. Returning it TODAY.

I would not recommend this hair straightener. 2

I had previously owned a Chi straightener and loved it. However, when the heating element went out, I purchased this online. When I received, I was very disappointed as it just seemed very cheaply constructed. I did not feel this item would last and for the amount of money it cost, did not seem to be economical. So, I took it back and traded on another Chi.

This has been my lovely flat iron for 12 yrs. Gets my thick, course hair straight and can make it wavy with the correct technique. Just noticed today it finally gave up and is not heating up as well as it should. So I'm one here getting ready to order the exact, same flat iron. You can't go wrong with this!!!!
Great product! 5

I love how quickly it heats up. I have had straighteners in the past where my hair would get stuck in the plates and then get pulled, this does not happen. The plates fit together tightly so there is great contact with the hair and I can straighten my wavy/frizzy hair in one swipe.
YES, I WOULD BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN 5

I bought this iron back in September 2013, and it barely broke last week (December 2020) :( The wiring in the cord popped out but I had accidentally wedged it between my dresser and the bed so I believe that wore through the covering. I bought a chi iron in 2013 as well for my mom and within 6 months the plates were tugging on her hair. For 7 years of almost daily use between me AND my sister the babyliss iron was perfect. Super smooth, never tugged my hair, and stayed hot. I used it to straighten as well as curl my hair. I would buy it again and again it was a great investment.
The plates are peeling 1

I bought this flat iron and after three uses the plates are peeling. I've been emailing the company and haven't had any success in reaching them.

I have had this straightener going on probably about 9 or 10 years now and it seems to work as good as it always has! I'm now in the market for a new straightener to try something new, but I would definitely recommend this one to everyone. I used the 1 1/4 inch plates!
Absolutely worth the price! 5

If you have thick long hair, this straightener is for you! It takes me less than 15mins to do my hair! Which is better than the 30-45mind it would take me with my old one.
Works so well 5

I purchased this product so I can straighten my 10 yo granddaughter's hair. She can manage her own hair care if it is straightened... she loves her hair down so it's a win/win for us ❤️

After 16 years the case on my hair straightener got a crack. Its a different brand and was very expensive, but the company seems to have gone out of business. I thought I better start shopping before it broke completely. After A LOT of research I settled on this Babyliss Pro. I had really high hopes after all the reviews, but it just doesn't live up to the hype. There are a few design flaws. First the on/off switch is RIGHT where you may place a thumb or finger, so its easy to accidentally shut off. This happened to me twice in the first 5 or ten minutes of using it. Second the case gets incredibly hot. So you can't really touch it to manipulate it to style your hair. Third something about the edges of the plates creates awful lines of demarcation. Which I don't think has much to do with how long I left it in my hair because, again, the case is so hot I burned my scalp more than a couple times so I was pulling it through pretty quickly to avoid burns. Fourth, it left my hair hot for an incredibly long amount of time, so much so that it waa hard to move on to my next section of hair, but my hair is so coarse that I kept having to up the heat setting to get the sections straight. Lastly, one of the great things about straightening your hair is that glossy sheen it creates so light bounces off the hair when you move. This did not create the glossy sheen and soft smoothness; it left my hair very dull and straw-like. I bought a $30 In-Styler straightening brush at the same time that I bought this Babybliss that actually does a much nicer job, but doesn't flip my ends like a straightener will. The color of this straightener is beautiful, so it has that going for it, but that's about it. I will be returning it and continuing my search.

Was not a fan of this iron ... says heating 450 felt like 350 and had to run the iron 4× to get it straight...
Amazing 5

I have extremely curly hair, sometimes when straightened curls will start appearing whether it's hot or cold. My salon used this iron after blow drying my hair. It never lets me down, no curls appear when this is used on my hair. It's very smooth too so it doesn't get stuck if you happen to have a small knot as you go. SO worth the money since this flat iron does last for years.
It take too long to heat up then you guy send the wrong one 1

The best! 5
RRR74 from LA, CA
This is the best flat iron I've ever owned. I used my Chi till the wheels fell off..ten years. It worked great but started to snag my hair during its final days. I moved on to GHD and hated it. This is my first Babyliss and I love it! Leaves my hair silky, soft and shiny on a single pass. Some of the negative comments are hilarious. It's a flat iron for Pete's sake who cares how it looks or the packaging it comes in as long as it works good...and it does.

I have owned this flat iron for 5+ years and I love this flat iron so much! It's the best flat iron ever. I use it once a week and it leaves my Hair so shiny and soft. It does NOT pull on my hair, so that's also another plus. It heats up fast and it leaves my hair extremely straight and NO FRIZZ. I would 1000% recommend this flat iron more than any other one in the market!

Horrible!!!!!!!! 1
Jljclark35 from Menifee
Omg worst flat iron ever. Had the babyliss 1 inch with digital timer $99 one it worked fine but paint chipped and plates started to change. I only flat iron my hair 2 times a year, so I was super excited. I have thick 4c hair about an inch past my bra strap. I have a lot of hair so I figured a wider flat iron would be great. Ran this through my hair several times. It feel so dry and horrible. THE PLATES STARTED TO BURN AND LOST SOME OF THE COATING!!!! First time. Called Babyliss/con air they will be sending me a new one. Can't return to Ulta because the stores are still closed.
