Most Helpful Positive Review Fabulous Flat Iron
I have to say I agree with the comments on this flat iron. I have had this flat iron for 4 years, it still works the way it did the first time I used it. I have fine hair, but a lot of it, which gets frizzy in humidity. The plates glide easily through my hair, it doesn't get stuck like many other inexpensive flat irons do. It makes my hair shiny that lasts until I wash my hair again, and keeps the frizz to a minimum in humid weather. I use this flat iron mostly to curl my hair. I have a Babyliss curling iron as well, but I use this flat iron to curl my hair almost every day, and the curls hold very well! I would definitely recommend this styling tool! It is so worth the money!
Most Helpful Critical Review Hate it!
So......I too wanted to love this flat iron. I went to Ulta initially to buy a Chi but an employee that was helping me indicated that she hated the Chi and that the Babyliss was 100% better. I get home eager to flat iron my daughters hair after washing and taking her braids out. The iron heats up fast and has multiple settings which is good. However, you can barely hold the iron where you need to keep it tight within your grip because the handle is too hot! It did not get my daughter's hair straight at all and it did not smooth any parts of her hair including the ends. If you have to do several passes through the hair and it's still not straight at the highest setting then it just simply is not a good flat iron. If your hair is super thin it may work but other than that, I wouldn't recommend this iron. Returning it TODAY.

I purchased this product so I can straighten my 10 yo granddaughter's hair. She can manage her own hair care if it is straightened... she loves her hair down so it's a win/win for us ❤️

After 16 years the case on my hair straightener got a crack. Its a different brand and was very expensive, but the company seems to have gone out of business. I thought I better start shopping before it broke completely. After A LOT of research I settled on this Babyliss Pro. I had really high hopes after all the reviews, but it just doesn't live up to the hype. There are a few design flaws. First the on/off switch is RIGHT where you may place a thumb or finger, so its easy to accidentally shut off. This happened to me twice in the first 5 or ten minutes of using it. Second the case gets incredibly hot. So you can't really touch it to manipulate it to style your hair. Third something about the edges of the plates creates awful lines of demarcation. Which I don't think has much to do with how long I left it in my hair because, again, the case is so hot I burned my scalp more than a couple times so I was pulling it through pretty quickly to avoid burns. Fourth, it left my hair hot for an incredibly long amount of time, so much so that it waa hard to move on to my next section of hair, but my hair is so coarse that I kept having to up the heat setting to get the sections straight. Lastly, one of the great things about straightening your hair is that glossy sheen it creates so light bounces off the hair when you move. This did not create the glossy sheen and soft smoothness; it left my hair very dull and straw-like. I bought a $30 In-Styler straightening brush at the same time that I bought this Babybliss that actually does a much nicer job, but doesn't flip my ends like a straightener will. The color of this straightener is beautiful, so it has that going for it, but that's about it. I will be returning it and continuing my search.

Was not a fan of this iron ... says heating 450 felt like 350 and had to run the iron 4× to get it straight...

I have extremely curly hair, sometimes when straightened curls will start appearing whether it's hot or cold. My salon used this iron after blow drying my hair. It never lets me down, no curls appear when this is used on my hair. It's very smooth too so it doesn't get stuck if you happen to have a small knot as you go. SO worth the money since this flat iron does last for years.
It take too long to heat up then you guy send the wrong one

This is the best flat iron I've ever owned. I used my Chi till the wheels fell off..ten years. It worked great but started to snag my hair during its final days. I moved on to GHD and hated it. This is my first Babyliss and I love it! Leaves my hair silky, soft and shiny on a single pass. Some of the negative comments are hilarious. It's a flat iron for Pete's sake who cares how it looks or the packaging it comes in as long as it works good...and it does.
Best product ever!!

I love this flat Iron so much! Owned it for 5+ years

I have owned this flat iron for 5+ years and I love this flat iron so much! It's the best flat iron ever. I use it once a week and it leaves my Hair so shiny and soft. It does NOT pull on my hair, so that's also another plus. It heats up fast and it leaves my hair extremely straight and NO FRIZZ. I would 1000% recommend this flat iron more than any other one in the market!
stopped heating up

Omg worst flat iron ever. Had the babyliss 1 inch with digital timer $99 one it worked fine but paint chipped and plates started to change. I only flat iron my hair 2 times a year, so I was super excited. I have thick 4c hair about an inch past my bra strap. I have a lot of hair so I figured a wider flat iron would be great. Ran this through my hair several times. It feel so dry and horrible. THE PLATES STARTED TO BURN AND LOST SOME OF THE COATING!!!! First time. Called Babyliss/con air they will be sending me a new one. Can't return to Ulta because the stores are still closed.
I had it for 9 years and counting

I have had this straightener since 2011 and it works just as well as it did 9 years ago. I am honestly surprised it hasn't stopped working I have dropped it so many times! It is a great straightener it gets the job done quickly. Definitely worth every penny since it's lasted so long
Works well, just not the right product for me

While I like the quality of the item, the quick heat time, and the ease of straightening, I will be returning this item. The long ends of the plates aren't rounded at all, making it difficult to get any sort of slight body to your hair, and impossible to curl using this. (I know, I know, it's not a curling iron, but that's how I curled my hair!) I also noticed the long sides of the plates extend further in comparison to the blue body, so in trying to straighten a cowlick I have burned my scalp more than once. The on/off and temp buttons are in a weird place, it's super easy to hit with your hand while using the machine - I've ended up turning it off and not knowing until I realized my hair wasn't smoothing at all.
Love the brand, but was disappointed by this straightener
Elizabeth from Florida
I have been using babyliss straighteners for years and have been loyal to them ever since, but I decided to try the 1 3/4 inch straightener and I was not impressed. When I got the package, it was clear to me that this product was not new as there were streaks and random buildup on the plates before I even opened it. When I went to use the straightener, I felt like the plates were not as smooth as the 1 1/4 inch plates and they didn't make my hair look as nice. I'm not sure if I just got an old or defective straightener but this did not live up to my usual babyliss straighteners at all and I will be returning for the 1 1/4 size.
I would buy product again

I love this
I was hoping I'd love it

If this review was based solely on performance, I would give it a five. The iron heats up really quickly and straightened my coarse thick hair within a single pass on 400F. My hair felt soft and shiny. However, it's heavy and bulky and it looks incredibly cheap for the hefty price tag. It seriously looks like a $20 flat iron and the packaging also looks tacky. I returned this for the ultra-thin babylisspro iron, which was easier to hold
I've had this for YEARS

I got this straightener when I was 16, and still use it to this day, and am now 22! That is CRAZY - 6+ years. Such a durable styling tool that works better than the crummy chi I had for a year before I got this. Makes my naturally wavy hair extremely soft and smooth, and even if mine ever breaks, I will be right back here buying the same one. Such a good investment, and definitely worth the price.
So Far I'm In Love!

I bought this straightener to replace an old Chi. So far I love it a million times more! I debated between this one and the ultra thin style, but ended up going with this one because I liked the digital temperature read. It heats up really fast, and leaves my hair straighter using a lower heat then my Chi did on the highest heat setting. Also, no pulling on my hair between the plates.

I braided my wet hair before bed looking to get a wavy look the next morning but it turned out to be a puffy mess so I used this to straighten it and fix the problem. One pass and my hair was completely straight! Glides smoothly and doesn't pull on your hair. Definitely worth the money!
my sister loves this
chelsea from lexington, ky
my sister is a hair stylist, I bought this for her to use on herself. she has extremely thick and coarse hair. she loves it! babyliss is a good brand. as long as you know what your doing and how to do it the flat iron will work for you.
Got 11 yrs ago and still going strong!

I have had this flat Iron for almost 11 years and it has never once given me any problems or even snagged my hair. Still heats up great, i can do some really great wavy curls with it as well. It has plsnty of wear and tear from my sisters, friends and nieces using it and has worked amazing on so many hair types from fine to ultra thick small tight curls.

Honestly, half the time it doesn't heat up.
Long Lasting Flat Iron
jenna from orange county, CA
I have very thick, wavy/curly hair and I am writing this review since my flat iron finally died. I used it very often for I believe 8 years; it lasted me through high school and college for sure! This was my first flat iron that did not make my hair super frizzy after use and I found it easy to hold despite my small hands. It heats up quickly and I would use the lower settings afterwards to get out the kinks.

I really wanted to love this straightener my chi had lost its 6 yrs course and finally gave out. I saw it had great reviews (because I always look at reviews) however this straighter is not worth over 100$. Reviews are true when they say it pulls your hair. My recommendation is your better off with a 20$ one.
Nice flat iron
