I've been an everyday flat iron user for 10+ years and it was time to replace my old GHD with something current. I was also about to do a Keratin straightening at home and wanted a good flat iron with high temps. I went into the store and after talking with the sales gal (who couldn't really give me any good reason to buy the more pricey models, like this Croc, over a cheaper one from Hot Tools), I decided to buy them both and do a side by side comparison at home between the two (the Croc was more than double the price). She assured me I could return the one I didn't want as long as it was completely repackaged as if new. I did one side of my head with the Hot Tools, one side with the Croc and there really was NO comparison. I started with the Croc on the right half and was completely wowed with the quickness of the results. One easy swipe and my thick wavy hair was stick straight. Boom! It also has shine and a "swing" to it which my hair NEVER has. My hair doesn't swing or move or demonstrate any of those bouncy hair commercial qualities! Today it did and this was NOT while doing a keratin treatment. This was just after my normal shampoo and blow dry. Not only was I amazed by the Croc results, I loved the weight and ergonomic design of this device. It also clamped down on the hair at just the right tension. I then did the left side with the Hot Tools on the same temperature setting. Not even close. It took multiple passes on each section and it wasn't nearly as straight, shiny or silky. The Hot Tools model felt like good quality, it heated up fast and glided through my hair just fine. But the results side by side were obvious. The Croc won hands down and the Hot Tools iron went back to the store the next day. This is the first time I've done a side by side comparison. So glad I did because I may have gone with the Hot Tools iron just on it's own given the super reasonable price point. I was happy to pony up for the Croc!

THIS IS AN AMAZING IRON, EXCEPT IT BREAKS SO EASY. BUMP IT OR DROP IT ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR( FALLING FROM COUNTER) ITS DONE. WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH NO LESS THAN 8 OF THEM. AFTER THIS ONE IM DONE FOR GOOD. I LOVE THIS IRON, HANDS DOWN IT SURPASSES THE CHI. THE WAY IT MAKES YOUR HAIR IS A 10. TO BAD IT WONT STAND UP TO NORMAL USE. I HAVE TO SAY MY CHI IS AWSOME FOR THAT. BUT DOESNT GIVE THE RESULTS THE CROC DOES. HOPE CROC FIGURES OUT HOW TO BUILD THEIR IRON LIKE A CHI. THEN I WILL BE A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE....AND RECOMEND THEM AS WELL

Literally the worst thing ever. I bought it for my mom. She asked me to come and straighten her hair. 5 minutes in I noticed it wasn't on anymore so I did everything to get it back on and nothing. Literally was dead. At least Ulta let me get a refund.
Love the unique grip

Have a new haircut. Needed the added smoothness of a flat iron.

I have owned CROC's for about 7 years now and have only needed to re purchased twice. This time around, the only normal flat iron CROC carries is the Titanium. I have had the Classic for 7 years and L O V E D it. I could swear the Classic was advertised as a ceramic iron, but I could be wrong.
What ever is the difference with titanium, it's HORRIBLE. My hair now takes 20 plus minutes to iron as opposed to ~11. And once done, my hair like I just rolled out of bed and slept on it for hours. I section it off into smaller pieces then normal and it still does nothing. About a year ago, I cut a bunch of damaged hair off, and my hair has been so much healthier with the correct products. Using this straightener for the last month or so, my hair is absolutely FRIED. It sizzles when I pass through sections, and again does a terrible job of "straightening." It basically has undone the year and half or so I have spent to correct my damaged hair.
I am so disappointed in this purchase and will be returning immediately. Also, just to note, CROC does not offer a customer service line. If you call the 800 number and indicate customer service, all it does is direct you to a recorded line on how you can return/exchange. There is NO OPTION to speak to a live person, aside from sales.

I've owned a chi for many years. I didn't want to spend over $100 for a new flat iron but I'm so glad I did! It really does smooth out the hair and gives it that fresh from the salon look. I use it for straight and wavy looks. Worth every penny just hope it lasts like my chi.

Felt like it was burning my hair even at the lower temps
Have had mine for 7-8 years

This thing is the best flat iron I've ever owned. I used revlon and Chi as a teen and purchased my first and so far only Croc in 2012 or 2013. I don't straighten my hair daily so that may be why it's lasted so long. I straighten probably once a week but at times I've gone weeks without straightening it. So not sure how long it'd last if used daily or several times a week... But still a great iron! Tonight I noticed it was having trouble heating up so I think it may be on its last leg..will be purchasing another one!
Perfect for my hair!

This is my second Croc Flat Iron. I had to replace my out of warranty flat iron when it just quit heating up, but bought the same brand again because it works well for me.
Love this straightener

Kicks off on its own Incase you are like me and forgot once so u panic each time u use one lol. Makes hair straight fast because it heats up fast.
The best best flat iron but doesn't last
Jenn from Los Angeles
I have had 3 Crocs. None lasting over a year! The only reason I kept repurchasing it is because it is hands down the best flat iron I have ever used . I have long thick wavy hair and when I straighten it I like it straight straight so it won't look sloppy or raggedy . I've tried so many flat irons from babyliss to revlon to the CHI and none even come close so I'll keep dishing out the money for the croc ! Wish they would just fix the issue !
Works Great But Spring in Handle Breaks
Amy N from Wilmington, NC
I have owned 3 of these in the past 7 years. They work great on my thick course hair but the spring in the handle has broken on ALL 3. The warranty is 2 years and this happened when all 3 of them was just over 2 years old. For the price this is very disappointing. Going to try a different brand this time.
I would totally recommend this product

I've had this straightener for 5+ years and it still works like the day I bought it. I use it to straighten my hair and curl it as well. I can't straighten my 24' hair in less than 30 minutes. I love it
Christy from saginaw, MI
I bought this and am soo happy I did. I can use less heat on my hair and only need 1 pass. it doesnt skip or pull on my hair. I have wavy hair that likes to frizz very bad and this iron has helped my hair smooth out so nicely. money worth spending. I saved up points to get $40 off so that did make it easier.
It does a good job
Shasha from Hawaii
This was a good investment. I have been through so many flat irons and so much disappointment. Maxi glide was the best flat iron but way too heavy and bulky. This is the exact opposite & I love the ergonomics. Extra points for making my hair flat and my hair not frizzing up or regaining fluff until after 2 days. Long lasting straightness. I did not like that it was on the highest setting 450 and I still had to go over each section more than twice to get it flat. I have fluffy wavy & curly hair after a shower. When I brush through it is gets even worse. I've seen a lot of YouTube reviews on drug store brand flat irons like Remington that made way coarser and unmanageable hair straighter than the croc has made my hair, so I was hoping my hair would get straighter than what my results were. I'm not mad at it though. It is worth the price. Just wish I could get it flat in one pass.

I have thick coarse hair and this is the only straightener that works!
Does not heat up to 450 degrees
Charlie from Hanover, MD
I purchased this flat iron for a keratin treatment because I needed a flat iron that would get hotter than my CHI. When I plugged in and powered on the CROC iron I noticed there was a white flashing light. The CROC allowed me to set the temperature to 450F, but the iron did not get hot enough. It is a brand new iron! Why isn't it getting hot?
Later, I tried to look up what the white flashing light means. I could not find anything online that helped explain the issue and resolve it. When I compared the temperature to my CHI, MY CHI was hotter!!! This is a piece of garbage.
Excellent and durable
Angel.D from Québec, Canada
Had mine for almost 5 years and it works like day 1, it is very effective for frizzy hair. I have very thick hair and it takes me 10-15 min to straighten my hair. It is by far the best hair straightener I've ever had.
Broke After Two Year Warranty Expired
Zan from Alabama
I rarely used this flat iron as I only straighten my natural hair 3-4 times a year. The product worked well each time with one pass at 410 degrees, however, the flat iron would not stay powered during my most recent use. I'm very disappointed because it straightened very well. Looks like I'm just outside of my two year warranty (of course) so I'll have to shop for another iron. I'll be looking into something with a little more longevity for the price.
My first "more expensive" flat iron
Dawn from NH
I have curly hair and don't straighten it much because I haven't spent a little more money on a really good flat iron. I LOVE this. It's easy to use and doesn't take me long to straighten my hair. Very much recommend this. Have only had for a few weeks now.
Powers from Florida
I've had mine for a few years now and it's been great! Just as hot as day one. I've own a CHI and many other brands that didn't last this long, so happy with the CROC
Worth the money!
Patty from Long Beach, CA
I use this iron daily, and it does a fabulous job! My last Croc lasted 6+ years of daily use, and just bought a replacement because the heating plates started to chip. Again...that was after 6+ years!! Still worked. Def worth the extra $$ !
Makes my keratin treatment last longer
Alicia from Miami, FL
I have had this iron about 4 years and it is the best I have ever used. I previously had a CHI iron, but this one straightens much faster and my hair will stay straight till the next time I wash it despite the high Miami humidity. I do get a keratin treatment about every 6 months, but they are only supposed to last 3 months. Straightening my hair with this iron makes it last twice as long. According to my hair stylist straightening your hair after a treatment helps seal it in deeper. Maybe that's why, but even so this iron is great would definitely recommend if you want something good quality that works very well. I know it's kind of pricey, but if you can buy it with one of Ulta's 20% off coupons you won't regret it !
Used to love croc
Michelle from Los Angeles
This is the second croc flat iron I've owned and I love how they quickly smooth your hair without damaging. However this one lasted me about 6 months before it stopped working and I never dropped it. My previous one lasted me 5 years before it died. Something changed where it's cheaply made now rather than Korean made. Seems like many people have similar issues.
I love my new croc straightener!
Miz Maria from Vista CA
Love it cause for having long hair, it only takes me less than 10mins to straighten. Heats up pretty fast and only have to do a couple passes.
Roe from Mesa
I love this flat iron. My hair is fine but I have a lot of hair and I can adjust the temperature appropriately.
So glad to be reunited
KTS from Illinois
This is hands-down the best flat iron I've ever used. I had a Croc years ago & loved it. It finally went out after many years of use & abuse (careless teenage years). I've used many other brands since then, and none have compared. They've all pulled my hair & I had to make many passes just to straighten it. I picked up my new Croc less than a week ago & have zero complaints! It's as great as I remembered. Beats up so fast, doesn't pull my hair, I don't have to make multiple passes for smooth hair. I've recommended this to everyone & will continue to do so.
