For MAC NC30, you can definitely do both, but Light-Medium in the Smashbox Cali Contour Blush, Highlighter, & Bronzer Face Palette would likely suit you better overall, with more versatile shades for your skin tone. I purchased this because my favorite contour palette is by smashbox. However I was not happy with this palette. The contour shade seems more like a bronzer to my light skin tone. It is really warm toned. The highlight shades are both too dark for my skin tone. This seems more suited for medium skin...

I absolutely love this this palette. I have cool beige skin tone with neutral undertones. I use this palette sparingly all through the year.
My Favorite Pallete
I can't believe im buying my second pallete lol I never do that but I catch myself using this every single day for the last 2 years. I'm in love with it. I use it as eyeshadow and as everything else. Great color combination 👌🏼 😍. Great for everyday use, fall, winter, spring, summer. I use the light/medium one. A very good assortment of powders and blushers.
There are only four colors in the box that I use but I buy the whole kit because they are so good for my coloring. Nice size mirror. This box and the color compartments are much smaller than my last set. They have cut down on the size of all the components!
Best face palette
I've used this for a few years now and it is the best everyday face palette. I love that I can build the depth of color but it never looks like too much. My makeup always looks good when I wear this. Great for contouring but great for a bronzy look. The blush is a perfect shade that goes with everything and the highlights are perfect every time. Face or eyes. Five star. 10/10.
My go to palette
One thing about me is that I get overwhelmed when I have too much things and that is the reason why I like this palette. This palette has everything i need in regards to contouring and blush. Hopefully this product does not get discontinued.
