Comments about Chi Ceramic 1" Hairstyling Iron:

I got this hair this hair straightener around a year and a half ago and it worked amazingly when I got it! But after I traveled with it for a weekend trip, it became completely unusable. I tried using it and it COMPLETELY fried my hair, like cartoon electrocuted hair fried. The three or so pieces I straighten were damaged for a good 6-7 months. I later purchased another chi and all the power went over to one plate, making the other plate room temperature.

My issue with this straightner is that it did not get hot enough for my hair. I did not get a flat silky look as I did with past straightners.

Comments about Chi Ceramic 1" Hairstyling Iron:

I have had this product for well over 10 years now! I used it in a salon when I did hair, but I have also used it daily. The best way to describe my hair is course, thick, frizzy, and wavy. I have never had it snag or break my hair. I also use it to curl my hair and it works flawlessly! The reviews I've read for this is hilarious... You can clearly read in the description that it does not have a temperature adjustment, which if you are worried about heat damage you should be using a heat protection product to begin with. I also read that someone said it makes the hair "too flat".... It's a flat iron. If you don't want your hair too flat, change the way you are using your iron and you can get full, straight hair. I'd buy this product over and over again, as it works for difficult hair. If your hair is fine I probably wouldn't recommend it because the heat can be too much for finer hair types.

Comments about Chi Ceramic 1" Hairstyling Iron:

I bought my Chi Hair Iron nearly 10 years ago and a few weeks ago it finally died on me. And I loved it until the very end. I was surprised it lasted so long. Even though I didn't use it everyday, I did use it at least a couple times a month and it stood up to a good amount of wear and tear. I brought it everywhere with me and really did love it! I think it says a lot for this iron that I had it for almost 10 years. I know a lot of people give overlook Chi since there have been a lot of new irons out on the market, but I was very happy with this iron and thought it did the job. I actually used it for curling my hair more than straightening it and it worked great! I will probably be repurchasing this iron because I was so happy with it for so long. I hope they haven't changed the quality!

Comments about Chi Ceramic 1" Hairstyling Iron:

My asian hair is semi thick and is in between straight and wavy. This iron gives a very clean, sleek and smooth straightening look, but I feel it makes the hair too flat. I also feel it damages my hair a lot. My hair breaks easily and I believe it to be because of using this product. I know all heating products do some kind of damage, but I think this one does a lot because it's super hot with no other temperature setting. Just on and off switch. However, I've tried cheaper products and another CHI (cheaper than this one) and I feel like they don't make the nice, sleek straight look like this one does. So I am half and half on this one. I keep going back to using this product, but I try not to run it through my hair too many times or for too long so that my hair won't damage so much and so that my hair won't be too flat.

Comments about Chi Ceramic 1" Hairstyling Iron:

I've only used this a few times, since my keratin treatment does a great job of keeping my hair straight most of the time. There's only one issue--the placement of the on/off button is not good, because if you're not careful turning it off, you can burn yourself, since the button is between the two heating blades. It happened to me once, so I'm much more careful now.
