Comments about Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil:

I usually love Clinique products and I wanted to try a new cleanser, so I picked this up. But after a week of using this, my forehead was breaking out. My forehead never breaks out. I stopped using it and the acne is already starting to heal. I'm bummed.

Great First Step For Makeup Remover

    By Cassidy

    from Kansas

Comments about Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil:

I love to use this before using my Micellar water. It breaks down a lot of the more difficult products, since i have oily skin and use A LOT of primers all over. It gets the job done and helps a lot with my nighttime routine.

    Best Makeup Remover Out There!

    By Bri

    from Raleigh, NC

Comments about Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil:

I have been using this product for about 3 weeks now. I wear a MAC waterproof foundation daily as well as the Urban Decay De-Slick setting spray to help keep my makeup matte all day. I have tried numerous makeup removers and this is by the best yet. This truly breaks down my makeup for easy removal. I suffer from sensitive skin and can easily breakout depending on the product. My nightly routine consists of using this product (following the directions) and rinsing it off with a makeup remover cloth. Once that is done I wash my face using a cleansing scrub. I finish my routine with the Clinique Turnaround Night Moisturizer. I have had a lot of success with this routine! My skin is soft and free of dirt and grime. I have not had a breakout since doing this.

Comments about Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil:

Tries this as part of double cleansing and was hoping it would be a makeup remover and first cleanser. It's okay. Knocked off 1 star bc it didn't remove mascara/eye makeup completely and knocked off another star for breakouts/tiny pimples. I wouldn't purchase again. I prefer Shiseido's oil cleanser.

Why does this product contain BHT? And why is it called an oil cleanser if it doesn't even actually contain any oil?
Asked on 5/15/2018 by sca from mars

            • Brand Expert

              A:

Please know that the formula does not contain heavy fixed oils. However, Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil is formulated to have the esthetics of a silky smooth texture, and to immediately dissolve tenacious face makeup, oil, and impurities.

Hello. The safety of BHT has been assessed by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel. The CIR Expert Panel evaluated the scientific data and concluded that BHT is safe for use in cosmetics and personal care products. My main concern is blackheads, primarily on my nose. I get an oily t-zone, mainly the nose. And dry cheeks. Is this a good product to use as a cleanser on it's own, or should I use this as a precleanse step before using a normal foaming cleanser? Also, is this product good for combination skin?

Hi! Yes, this product is great for all skin types. It is a make up solvent, so I suggest using it as a pre soap cleanser to break down pigments in your makeup. It dissolves makeup beautifully on skin! Thank you for your question!
