Most Helpful Positive Review Best of them all! And I've tried them ALL First of all the size of the bottle is a joy to behold. How dare loving tan charge all that money for that peewee sized bottle?! Believe me, once you've compared the performance of this stuff to your loving tan ultra dark and see you're getting like TWICE the amount of product, there will be no looking back! The only thing - and this has ZERO bearing on reality - I prefer on LT over this is the reddish guide color over BS greener one - like I said, no bearing on reality cause that's only for your pajamas to see til you shower it off in the morning to reveal this AMAZING tan. Oh, and my skin neck down is as dry as parchment and leaving this foam on for >8 hours (I put on a couple layers) doesn't dry my skin out!! Not even SoSu with their hyaluranic claims can keep me hydrated til my am shower and dousing of moisturizer! This tan has not only mucho DHA but also erythurlyose (I am 100% sure I spelled that wrong), which is a less strong but, when mixed with DHA, powerful tanning agent that accounts for the awesome darkness and longevity of this tan. I rarely bother with tanners that don't contain it anymore unless it is a specialty “sleep mask” tan product or some such kitsch I always fall for. Speaking of the face, I do not have sensitive skin. It's normal. I could use a 25-step Korean based routine with a retin a cherry on top or just never wash it or look at it, and it always behaves the same. So when I'm using this BS ultra dark, I obviously use it on my face (try to be home alone that night as not to scare the children). But for some reason, like I said neck down I'm dry, my face is on the oilier side of normal and all tans wears off quicker on my face (we all know tan sticks like glue to dry skin hence the “lotion up the knees and elbows and ankles first” thing). So my tans always last an eternity on body, not on face. This one does the best though. But I am always using the next best new fangled facial tan gimmick to keep it going to match my body. I also moisturize at least thrice daily and usually one of them is with a gradual tan moisturizer. After watching our derm scrape half my dad's poor face off last summer (nothing malignant thank God), this is all the tanning imma do from here on out. I'm 40 (half Irish half polish and got the Irish skintone — hee hee not at the current time thanks bondi sands and my brand new nc43 complexion — and thankfully my polish mom's lack of wrinkles and plethora of elasticity) — but from age 0-20 was at the beach every day til I wisened up. I fear so much - or like, all - the damage is done :( Well I look tan and happy and I ain't one of those “I'm fooling everyone” people. When I get (daily - multiple) compliments (from random strangers) on my deep Mediterranean tan, I am proud to say where it came from. My ginormous bottle of bondi sands ultra dark. People actually ask “where did you go on vacation?!” We live at the beach. It's July. Is that a good enough advertisement for this product?! Haha a summer at the beach would not even get ya here ️ Happy faux tanning.
Most Helpful Critical Review disappointed I hate writing negative reviews as I am sure the people behind the brand put a lot of time, effort and work but I've been thinking about this for way too long and I just have to write my honest opinion. I would always see bondi sands everywhere on my social media and I watched hundreds of reviews. I have been trying new self tanners for a year, almost two until I decided to try bondisands and I have never ever been more disappointed before. I was so so so happy when it came in mail cause I've been wanting to try it out for soo long.bI tried many drugstore brands and they ended up looking million times better than this. I really do love the coconut smell and how brown the tan actually is. The only reason why I have been holding myself back from writing this review is the beautiful natural brown tan it gives, but what is the point if this tan BARELY stays on for a week!!! while some other drugstore brands I've tried that were half the price would stay on for two weeks and when they started fading they would fade evenly, while bondisands? Leaves spots and it looks HORRIBLE! Normally when my tan would start to fade I would put it on again but with this? not a chance! unless you want to look literally as if you've played in a dirt. The tan fades unevenly which means it leaves spots all around your body. I know that you can purchase a product that gets rid of the tan completely but I just don't see the point in that if I have to put on and then completely get rid of the tan every 4-5 days. I do have to admit that any other self tanner I had ever used would be a little orangy while bondisands has beautiful brown color. I just can't keep using it for way too many reasons :( The only prose are the coconut scent and beautiful brown color, but that's sadly all. After I had tried many brand I personally would NOT recommend this product.

This smells amazing (coconuts but better!), and doesn't get the nasty self tan smell. The color was gorgeous (I got the ultra dark) - I left it on for 6 hours, rinsed with water only, and waited until the next day to shower with body wash. Used it on my face without any issues/breaking out. The color stayed strong (maybe not quite as dark as I'd like but definitely dark enough on my fair/light skin) for about 4 days and then started to fade but it faded evenly and didn't get patchy or weird. I didn't find the formula super sticky but I always dust cornstarch baby powder over almost my entire body after application to take any stickiness away because I can't stand that feeling - I can't remember where I found that life hack but it's wonderful and does NOT alter the tan. I can't speak to transfer during the tanning process itself since I always wear black or dark clothing but I didn't see where any rubbed off of my skin. Once this bottle is gone I'm going to try their Aero Express because one of my fave YouTubers loves that one.
Wanted to love it 2

I had SUCH high hopes for this product, and was sadly let down. The color was amazing when first put on, and when I woke up I was in love with it! However, as soon as I showered (I slept with it on), it seemed to all wash off and leave a very minimal color change! And not to mention the TRANSFER!!!! If you have any form of light sheets, save them. This stuff got everywhere on all of my bedding and clothes, and I even waiting about 2 hours for it to dry. Will sadly be returning.
BEST SELF TANNER 5
Em162527 from Arizona
Ok I don't wanna write this because it's already sold out but here we go... I have used St tropez religiously for the past couple of years. Finally tried this and I am NEVER going back. 1. It's cheaper 2. beautiful tan 3. Lasts SO much longer before it gets splotchy and rubs off.
I'm a pale white girl and dark gave me a good tan for the winter time. Would probably get ultra dark for summer
Make sure your skin is hydrated!!!! 5

First time user and I can attest, this stuff ROCKS. Only downfall was the smell but it's tanning foam.
If you have extra dry skin, I'd be very cautious and it tends to darken way more.
You will look very dirty at first, but once you wait 6 hours and shower again, totally mind blowing. I would not recommend putting this on your face, it kind of tingled a little bit where I contoured. Overall, less expensive/damaging than a tanning bed. Definitely enough in the bottle for a few "tanning sessions".
Love love love it.
I SO wanted to love this 3

First of all, compared to any other tanners I've used (from drugstore to high end), this one has the best smell! It smells tropical and light, it masks any self tanner smell very well! The color was also lovely, BUT it did not last long at all. By one shower almost all of the color comes off, even if you wait a full day you can see it coming off when you shower. And the transfer is AWFUL. I'd wait to put my clothes on or put it on a couple hours before bed, and I would still have stains all over my sheets and my clothes. So bummed, I can't keep ruining my clothes and bedding despite the pro's.
Transfers EVERYWHERE 2

I was soooo excited to try this after i ran out of loving tan and was not available in store at the moment. The smell was great and was easy to apply. However, it transferred everywhere!! Not a little either, all over my clothes even got on my couch! Luckily with oxyclean it mostly came out but the color payoff wasn't worth it. I'm pretty fair in the winter and purchased ultra dark (what i buy in loving tan) and i didn't feel very dark and faded much much quicker. Overall a let down :(
compared to loving tan 5

I used to buy the loving tan, but it would make me look orange due to having a reddish skin tone. I decided I wanted to continue trying other products, and decided to buy this. I normally buy medium in loving tan, but went with dark for bondi. I have used this about 4 times, and I absolutely love it. It does take a little longer to dry, but I have not had an instance of being orange yet! I would definitely recommend this product!
Left arm prints on my pants !!! Girl.... 1

I was so excited for this to come in the mail as I have the bondi sands aero and love it. I applied it and it NEVER dried!! Literally insane I've never had a self tanner do that. I was leaning my arms on my legs and when I lifted them the whole print of my arms was on my thighs!!! Then I laid down thinking it was semi dry , and the outline of my shoulders was on my pillow. INSANEEEEE omg returning this right now. I've had $8 tanners work better than this (drying wise), so disappointed :(
My FAVORITE 5
Mads from Colorado
I've never really had a good bronzer/self tanner before that looked natural, but this one saved me big time and will continue to keep purchasing because I love it!! I got the medium brown
Worth every penny, my new favorite tanner 5
Maddie from Dc
I have been looking for a tanner that isn't orange and I have finally found it. The tanner smells good and looks even better and it isn't too expensive. Worth every dollar.
Hands down, best self tanner 5

Great product 5

I have used a lot of tanners and I have to say this one is really good! I love the smell. It smells like coconuts. Most sunless tanners have a really bad odor. I also really like how this tanner applies. It's not streaky at all and it dries really fast and doesn't feel tacky. I will say I don't think the color is dark enough. I got the "Dark" shade and I think next time I would get the "Ultra Dark." However, I like it for the winter months since it looks more natural.
i love this 5

i'm so happy i bought this! but the only problem i've had is it makes my skin super dry and idk why, but i really love this self tanner 😊👍🏼
what a waste 1
Bella 30 from Washington, DC
Got dark for the colder months even though I generally use most brands' ultra dark. After leaving this on overnight, I actually laughed at how poorly this stuff works. I have seen tinting lotions that produce darker shades (I can't imagine what their light/medium looks like) and it's not buildable.
The only benefits are that it dries quickly and the smell is better than most tanning products.
Soooo much better than others I've tried 5
:) from DC
I religiously fake tan, I've tried a ton of different tanning foams and this WINS. I had settled on st.moriz for color & price but this stuff is SO MUCH BETTER. I got "dark" and am going to try the darker shade next. Smells INCREDIBLE and no streaks at all as well as a beautiful golden/olive color, not orange at all.
After great reviews i was Dying to try .. 3
Jackie a from Nashville
First - i have tried every self tan St. Tropez Saint Moritz loving tan tarte, I also used to do a Norvell spray tan once a week when I lived in New York
There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to tanning
So here's my take on Bondi sands
I'm comparing it to my favorite which is loving tan
(And will continue to be after trying this )
-It dries very quickly which is good or bad depending on how you look at it - you have to work quickly but you don't need a lot of dry time
-it has a green tint so if you use St. Tropez in the past you know what I'm talking about
-I got the ultra dark and I really wasn't impressed with the color after I slept in it I'm going to do another coat and I'm not gonna throw it away because the tan isn't bad it's just not as good as my loving tan dark express
No streaks tho, smells nice going on , no orange
First time using!! So happy I bought it! 5
ChelsM from Carthage
This product first of all is really good! It gives me a nice brown tan, not orange at all! ( I have a olive undertone) and I tan pretty easily in the sun and it looks like I just went suntanning! It's wasn't streaky, it does dry quite fast so you have to be fast with rubbing it in, I did mine before I went to bed and left it on for 12 hours and used a latex glove instead of a tanning mitt, it also a lovely coconut smell. Overall I am very glad I bought this, it's definitely worth your money!
Best self tanner I've tried 5
Sarag from Chicago, IL
I don't review things ever, But as a former all start cheerleader, I've used so so many self tanners and none of them ever seemed to work. This is the only one that has ever applied smooth everywhere (even my knees elbows and hands!)
healthy glow 5

settles streak free and looks so natural! overall super happy with it, I got the dark but will try the ultra dark next time because I like a deeper tan
My go to self tan from now on 5
Rylie from Cincinnati, OH
Love this tanner! The color is really bronze and is natural looking. The product smells tropical and a lot like coconut which I love and my friends even comment on the scent after I apply it. This product is very easy to blend and is not splotchy. It looks really nice on my pale complexion and has me feeling confident.
This replaced my St Tropez 5
Kristen from San Francisco, CA
Before COVID I was a twice weekly spray tanner but quickly had to switch to something I could do at home. I started with St Tropez since I was familiar with it and it was good, when I ran out I decided to try something different and grabbed this. In my opinion it's way better and half the price! A no brainer. The color lasts long and continues to look really fresh even after several showers. The only issue I really had was with the smell. It's not terrible, kinda coconut like.. it just isn't the smell for me. Bottom line. Save yourself some money and go with this. The ultra dark is amazingggg!
Ultra dark 5
Kim from Omaha
This looks so good on everyone it has such a nice olive undertone so you NEVER look orange this will last me about a week and it wears off beautifully
I'VE BEEN USING THIS FOR 3 YEARS 5

This is my favorite self tanner by far. I always use Ultra Dark. Yes, it's a bit sticky and yes, it has that self tanner smell and yes, it will transfer to your clothes (so wear something baggy and comfy). Here are some tips... #1: exfoliate and shave one day before you tan. #2: moisturize your hands, elbows, knees, ankles, and feet. #3: apply tanner with a mitt. #4: only use a small amount on hands & feet. #5: make sure you leave it on for 6+ hours (I actually recommend longer, so I sleep with mine on to get the best results). #6: when you wash it off, ONLY USE LUKE WARM WATER & DO NOT USE SOAP FOR 24 HOURS AFTER, pat your skin dry with a towel & do not rub. #7: make sure you moisturize everyday and your tanner will last at least a week. You're welcome :)
Holy Grail 5

I never write reviews on products but for this I need to make an exception. I have very pale skin and I use the ultra dark in summer and dark in the fall. This product is amazing it doesn't fade patchy the color is amazing and not orange at all. This product lasts me at least 5 days which is insane. Best tip I can give is this product doesn't blend flawlessly into hands and feet but get yourself a makeup brush to blend and that will all change!
