Most Helpful Positive Review OMG life saver
I was skeptical about these pigment mixers (I have a hard time getting foundations to work well on me) but after reading the reviews I thought I would try it, and I'm so glad I did. I have a Medium/neutral olive undertone and have had the hardest time for years to find a shade that closely matches me. I found a foundation formula that I like, Physicians Formula in MW2. The texture of this foundation is perfect; natural finish and looks like you're not wearing makeup, wears well and doesn't break up, light to medium coverage. The shade is a bit pink for me so I decided to get the L.A. girl pigments in yellow and blue. After reading one of the reviews here that mentioned adding blue and yellow will make an olive/green undertone, I thought this was perfect because I have a green undertone but most makeups don't come close to actually having that shade. After playing with the pigments in my foundation it blew me away, I finally found a way to make a green undertone (albeit a bit too green the first time around lol but it actually matched and if I add less blue it works out fine). As far as changing the texture goes, it did seem to thicken it just a bit but not too noticeable and probably a benefit for this foundation because it is more of a light to medium coverage and I noticed that I didn't have to add or layer foundation like I have before, so this was good for me. It never hurts to try so If you love a foundation formula but need it in a different shade definitely try this, it's not very expensive and for today's date that I'm writing this it's on sale so I got a good deal when I bought it yesterday. I'm so happy I can make my own shade :).
Most Helpful Critical Review They Work, But...
So I purchased the blue mixer because I'm a medium-tan skin tone and almost every foundation I've tried is far too yellow or orange on me. I was hoping the blue would help cool down the strong yellow undertones in my foundations a bit. It does cool them down, but the problem is that it gives them a green tint and makes them an olive undertone instead. I guess that makes sense since blue and yellow make green. I tried adding less but even when I did, it was either not enough to tone down the strong yellow undertones, or it would make the foundation far too olive for me. Maybe I haven't found the perfect ratio for mixing, or maybe I should try the white mixer instead. Also, I've found that the mixer has a dry, matte finish that makes my foundation look a bit cakey. If you use it on a foundation that isn't matte, it'll turn the foundation in to a matte finish. I tried it on my L'Oreal Freshwear foundation and it made it matte even though it's supposed to be a radiant foundation. I've also found that it makes my matte foundations even more matte, which is what happened when I tried it on my Maybelline Superstay. It works better with matte foundations in my opinion, but I will say it made my Maybelline Superstay, which is normally my favorite foundation, look far more dry/cakey and harder to blend when I mixed it. I don't know if I'll repurchase, but if I do, I may try the white mixer next.

I purchased yellow, and white (blue was out of stock) to try to match light olive skin.
when using this in smashbox foundation, I saw no difference in wear or texture, however, trying to lighten up 30cg in the stay naked foundation, it neutralized the color in it that I actually wanted, and made the matte formula less matte which was also unfortunate. the reviews on this vary on if they change the way your foundation wears because it varies on the foundation so greatly.
Blue is good for matching olive skin but kind of drying
Hillary from Brooklyn, NY
I used the blue one to make a slightly too orange foundation more neutral. It's easy to see the difference it makes, but there is some trial and error (as expected) to finding the right balance. This is much more affordable than other foundation adjusters, but it did make the foundation slightly more drying (I have normal/oily combo skin).
If you are still trying to work out your undertone or find the best foundation match and don't want to throw out your foundation this is one of the most affordable options that also minimizes waste.
100% worth the buy!

I have golden undertones, my complexion is sort of a milk chocolate mixed with honey & Hennessy. I am obsessed with Fenty beauty but unfortunately all of their shades I use (summer: 430/winter &spring: 410) seem to have a red undertone. These shades are labeled as golden. I mixed the blue pigment with my foundation and gals & guys, let me tell ya, it's MY PERFECT Match! I'm highly satisfied with this product! It's definitely a product that contributes to "your skin but better". I highly recommend it!
Nothing better than this

These are so full of pigment!! The orange can replace any dark circle corrector and last for so long. Holy grail!!
I will keep using this.

In the summer months I get tan, and since I've been working from home I have a lot more time to be outside but all my makeup is really light. I tried this in orange and it really works to darken up my makeup. However, I only gave it 4 stars because it seems to "dry" and it makes it really hard to blend out. But for the price it's a good alternative to replacing all my foundation. Have it in yellow too.

I bought this to lighten a new foundation. It doesn't seem to change the texture of the foundation, but it's a satin matte foundation that I used it with (Too Faced Peach perfect matte). I like that it's unscented and it came with a pump so I can adjust the amount that I blend in.

Awesome money saver! Im very yellow toned. And my tan changes with the seasons. I can never find my shade in any brand. This lets me work with what i have. This allows me to customize my shade.

I often find foundation I like or would like to try however it's usually to yellow. The blue mixing pigment has completely transformed a lot of the foundations I couldn't wear before. Absolutely love this product!
So glad I found these but...

I have the blue and the white. These are fantastic, so much cheaper than other mixing drops, and the bottle is so large, will last Soo long. My wish is that they would offer a biege-y pink color. I have never found anything like that, and I have cooler tones skin, and many foundations only offer a warm version. The blue does bring down the yellow, but sometimes brings it down to an unflattering gray time. I would also love a basic darkening one, maybe a neutral dark, so that I can easily adjust if I need it.

I really hope they come out with more shades because I ADORE this product! The consistency is fantastic and the color is bold!
Holy grail item

I bought the white foundation mixer after a store employee recommended it to me. I have so many nearly full bottles of foundation in very different shades because I am naturally olive toned & get pretty light in the winter but VERY dark in the summer. I typically do not buy drugstore end products (especially for my face) so I was honestly weary.. but figured with the price, it was worth a shot. The white pigment was incredible for me this winter. I was able to use my summer tan shaded foundations & have them look completely natural on my face. It looks like I don't even have foundation on & I have never felt more comfortable. This will be a staple in my makeup bag & has saved me so much money on half used bottles of product I had.

I had been wanting to try the It Cosmetics CC Cream forever but never bought it because I'm very pale and their lightest shade is ridiculously dark. I happened to see this on sale last week and got the white one and a travel size of the CC Cream to try it out, and it worked beautifully. It mixed it into my perfect shade and it didn't change the consistency or the finish of the foundation, I am so happy to have this product, I want to get a dozen backups.

Blue One is a God Sent Item
OneCueT from OKC, OK
I'm a medium dark Tan skin tone with cool undertone. Trying to find a foundation with a pink undertone in my range is impossible! Cool peach doesnt work & makes me look like an Oopa Loompa! Before I had to buy a shade way too light & add darkening mixer. I'd play chemist mixing foundations to match. Now I can make many foundations work by adding the blue in much less amounts than a darkening mixer. The blue adds the cool undertone back into a previously nuetral foundation; so that its actually my exact skin match. I love this mixer!
White is a god-send for pale skin!

So many foundation lines don't have a pale enough shade for my skin. And even when they do, often the palest shades are too pink. Adding in a bit of white to a liquid foundation that has the correct undertone helps lighten it up without messing with the overall undertone. Love!
This stuff works great
BonnieB from Houston, TX
I am fair skinned with cool undertones, but my foundation tends to match the color I am when I am using my self tanner. However, when the self tanner starts to fade sometimes I need a lighter, cooler shade and this stuff works great for that! It's much easier and cheaper than buying foundation in multiple colors.

I bought this is the white, yellow and blue.... hoping they'd help me rescue foundations that are a touch too dark, too "neutral" of too yellow. (I have a fair to light olive complexion.) I couldn't find an ingredients list anywhere, before buying, so I was hoping for the best. (Love Ulta's return policy!) These contain several fragrance ingredients, which I tend to avoid, so my sensitive skin won't be irritated. Why do cosmetic companies include fragrance in makeup and skincare????? They're not good for the skin. I wish they'd just stop this nonsense! How stinky can silicone, preservatives and vegetable oils be, that they need to be masked with fragrances? Or is it just about the "smells nice" factor? Great idea, bad execution. Anyway.... I'm disappointed. This will be going back to the store.
Great for custom blending

Purchased Blue, Orange and White. Start with a very small amount, doesn't take much. Made my foundation more Matte. Great for MUA's!
The blue one is great

I have light medium green-olive skin and have been looking to buy a mixer for a long time. Yellow foundations tend to look like mustard on me, and neutral foundations always look pink to red. Yellow usually matches a little better so I got the blue mixer to add to a very yellow L'Oreal Infallible Freshwear shade I have. I have used the mixer almost every day since getting it and it is wonderful! I do NOT notice a change in consistency, coverage, finish, or anything aside from the undertone, which is altered from yellow to a warm, almost desaturated golden olive. this is one of the best things I have ever found, I hope they never stop making it.

I was shocked! I cant believe how good this product is. I can now wear my favorite foundation all year around. You only need a VERY small amount to mix with your foundation ( I use the back of my hand) the difference is very dramatic.
THIS IS IT.

as a brown skinned girl whose skin can't tolerate chemical sunscreen, finding a mineral sunscreen dark enough so I don't look like I'm wearing a grayish-white mask has been quite the challenge. Well, I found a mineral sunscreen that is tinted to about the color of a brown egg, which is PERFECT! Or so I thought. This sunscreen I found is dark enough, but the undertones are PINK PINK PINK. As a yellow/olive undertoned person, it was wearable but it always looked like I was flushed in the face. Until this mixing pigment came along. I bought the yellow. It is *very* saturated, so I literally only need a dot or 2 (like the size of a drop of water that could sit on the head of a pin). It doesn't noticeably change the texture or finish of my sunscreen, and one jar will last me for the rest of my life. This is a game changer. ⭐️
Ruins my face Every time, not worth it

I decided to try this product, mixed the foundation with the pigment but each time, my face breaks out in less than an hour. This is frustrating because I bought 6 different LA matte foundation and mixed with different pigment.
a must have

i love this product because i can really customize my perfect shade with the help of these pigments . sometimes the foundations i buy are too cool toned because i'm so fair but i have olive skin so i mix the yellow and it really helps create my desired shade. however, a little goes a long way, so you don't need to use a while pump. even like 1/3 of a pump to be honest.
Perfect for light olive skin
Como La Flor from Wa
I have very porcelain olive skin and most warm undertone foundations are too yellow and neutral too pink. I love the IT bye bye foundation but the "fair" shade is much too yellow. A tiny daub of the blue mixer changes it completely! It comes out the perfect shade for anybody who is a very light olive complexion. Such a great product and such a great price!
Can't go wrong with this
