Q
I have fine, color treated hair and want volumizing products that also create shine. Does this add shine or does it leave hair more matte?
Asked by Trisha
Official Answer By Better Not Younger - Brand Engage
Most volumizing shampoos dry out the cuticle to achieve that "full effect". At Better Not Younger, we know that aging hair is already dry. That's why we created this lightweight yet moisturizing, sulfate-free shampoo designed to gently cleanse delicate, aging tresses while adding instant lift, volume and fullness. We also added a thoughtful blend of ingredients designed to support scalp health, for smoother, shinier and healthier-looking tresses over time! Awesome

My hair is long, fine, natural gray & mostly straight with a slight wave. I'm 53 years young. I figured knowledge is power so I started researching the best ingredients & products to add volume without my hair drying out, falling out or breaking off. I found out that moisture & hydration are not the...

Wasn't a fan personally

I didn't like how this felt on my roots but to be fair I'm not a fan of the feel of thickeners in general. I like my naturally straight, fine, medium density post menopausal hair to be glossy, slippery and able to have fingers run through it without resistance or snags. It tangles with the slightest...

Not for me

For the price, my expectations were pretty high and this shampoo & conditioner did not rise to meet them. It did not do much for my pair besides make it frizzy. The conditioner is very thick and hard to apply, and smells like crayons.

Works for me!

I've been using the Wake Up Call volumizing shampoo and conditioner for over a year. I have fine straight hair and have and an almost pixie cut. I usually wash my hair 2-3 times per week. I use a hair scrubbing brush and rinse using cool water. My hair was thinning in places most likely due to cancer medication I took for five years as well as age. My hair stylist began to notice a difference in thickness and texture after about three months. I love the volume I get. I'm not sure about actual new hair growth but there is definitely a difference in my hair as thin areas are not as noticeable. I'll continue to use.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I'm in my early 50s and my hair is starting to thin. I LOVE this shampoo! Although it's sulfate-free it lathers like a dream, but doesn't dry my hair out. My hair feels clean, fresh, and definitely has more volume after using it.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I wish I had a before picture to share of how limp and lifeless my hair looked before making the switch to this brand. It looks so much better. If you are of a certain age ( menopausal) and losing hair. I would recommend.

Left my fine hair greasy & weighed down

Submitted 4 months ago

I chose this shampoo and the matching conditioner because I have fine hair and I am perimenopausal. It sounded like everything I was looking for. Unfortunately, these products left my hair weighed down and visibly greasy. I tried many times to make them work, not wanting to assume these products were the problem and also not wanting to waste them. Ultimately, switching to a different shampoo and conditioner made it crystal clear these products *were* the problem. Obviously they work as promised for many people. I had a very different experience.
