How To Use
Apply to clean, dry, bare nails as a base coat; let dry. Apply 1-2 coats of nail color and let dry. Finish with a second coat of Ultimate Shield as a shiny top coat. Re-apply every 2-3 days to freshen manicure.

I am normally an OPI Nail Lacquer fan, who decided to try Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nail color. The Insta-Dri polish started chipping overnight and continued until I removed it on day 3. Disappointed, I found a 2-year-old bottle of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails #470 Unbreakable Heart and a bottle of Ultim...ate Shield Base & Top Coat. They went on smoothly and are holding on day 2. I don't expect them to last as long as a salon manicure, but I will extend the life of my polish with an additional topcoat as needed. These tried-and-true polishes are strong after two years, still liquid and not clumpy even after so long. This proves to me that Sally Hansen Hard as Nails is my most reliable go-to polish.

I have tried many...
I have tried many different brands of top coats, trying to find the best and most effective one. Whether that be between protecting from chipping, nail polish consistency, and how the polish reacts with the top coat.I've had a top coat that would mysteriously take off the colored polish I had undern...eath and move it around. With this top coat, I find that over time, the consistency thickens and becomes stringy— as you pull off the cap, a sticky "string" of polish connects from the bottle to the brush. Think of the gooey cheese on a pizza. As you take a bite, some cheese will stretch and stretch as you pull the slice away from your closed mouth.This top coat can work, but I find it's too high of maintenance for me.

I've been using Sally Hansen Ultimate Shield Base & Top Coat as both a base and top coat, and it works really well. The consistency is smooth and not too thick, so it applies evenly without streaks. It dries fairly quickly and leaves a glossy finish. My manicure lasts longer with less chipping, and my nails feel protected and stronger overall.

For most of my life I have have had very brittle and weak nails, making it nearly impossible for nail polish to stay because when my nails bend and break, it would flake off. I tried to use this and it worked for me instantly. My nails bend polish stays on and my nails now have more strength than they ever did before.

The packaging was awesome on them. It doesn't crack on your nails goes on and glass. You get a lot of nail polish for your money. It sticks very good when I want a polish over my nails with nail polish.
