Not Good For 2B Fine Wavy Flat Hair

I have 2b hair that is naturally fine/thin, slightly wavy, gets SUPER frizzy & tangled extremely easily, gets oily at the roots & dry the rest of my hair, and I REALLY struggle with having ZERO volume at the roots and in general. I recently tried cutting my hair shorter to above my shoulders with l...ayers to try to add volume & usually taking length off helps to enhance my natural curls. After the cut I tried out a lot of different products & found many that really defined my curls & eliminated the frizz, but I was still really struggling because none of the products I tried that helped with my curls seemed to give my hair any volume so it still just looked so flat at the roots and the curls didn't have the volume I was looking for. I tried a ton of different regular volumizing mousses that didn't help & found this product on the recommendation of an Ulta employee. I saw this product alone with the Devacurl FRIZZ-FIGHTING VOLUMIZING FOAM Lightweight Body Booster & wasn't really sure the difference or which would be better, but the amazing coconut smell of this product & so many amazing reviews on here made me initially choose this product to try. And it did NOTHING. I didn't have ANY extra volume & it seemed to just make my hair more slimy & greasy looking all over, didn't seem to enhance my curls at all & my hair was SUPER frizzy. Maybe this product is better for other curl types but after not having any success with this product I tried the Devacurl FRIZZ-FIGHTING VOLUMIZING FOAM Lightweight Body Booster & with some additional product trial & error that was a WAY better option than this product. While my hair is still SOAKING wet I apply Deva Curl Wave Maker cream first(only cream that seems to define my 2b curls), follow with Deva Curl frizz fighting volumizing foam(I previously tried the wave maker with this mousse which made my hair look the worst it's ever looked) & then I use a small amount of John Freida Air Whipped Volumizing Foam & scrunch all products into my hair flipping my hair upside down over the sink, then plop in a t shirt or Devacurl towel. At this point my hair is VERY wet applying all these products to already soaking wet hair, but I've found applying products when my hair is still soaking wet is super necessary along with the right products to achieve beautiful bouncy soft non crunchy curls with a lot of volume & no frizz. When I remove the t shirt or microfiber towel, I scrunch out any extra water & let my hair sit dry from there & I end up with GREAT, beautiful, frizz free curls, my hair is soft to the touch & not slimy or greasy feeling & overall my hair has more volume. For anyone following the curly girl method who only co-washes & doesn't use heat this routine definitely still works. Days that I have somewhere to go or have more time to spend on my hair I also apply root lift booster to roots only & blow dry using the devafuser attachment on my hair dryer & my hair is *chef's kiss" perfect & looks EXACTLY what I spent YEARS & thousands of dollars trying different products trying to achieve. I wanted to share all of this for anyone else with 2A or 2b curls with no volume who is reading product reviews for this product because they are looking for a product that will give their fine flat wavy hair a lot more volume & other volumizing mousse products haven't worked, & products that help with curl definition still leave hair with no volume. THIS IS NOT the RIGHT product for you. I am obviously still a big fan of Devacurl & 3 of their other products have ultimately been what has finally worked for my hair but I definitely think different Devacurl products are good for different hair types & this product seems to be great for many other hair types. BUT if you have fine wavy 2A or 2B hair that frizzes easily with no volume & are looking at this mousse, I would highly recommend trying the Devacurl FRIZZ-FIGHTING VOLUMIZING FOAM Lightweight Body Booster instead of this mousse. It's also important to note for me that mousse NEEDS to be used along with the John Freida Air Whipped Volumizing foam to achieve a noticeable difference in volume in my hair & neither of these 2 products is enough or works if I use them on their own without the other product! I think this product is probably better for people who don't have volume but whose hair doesn't get oily super easily who can go several days in between washes that need more moisture for the curls who don't need to use lightweight products for their hair & curls to not be weighed down that have more curl shape & definition not just wavy hair & don't struggle with a LOT of excess frizz that are just lacking the volume in their hair. Regardless for ALL hair types I would still recommend trying the John Freida Air Whipped Volume Foam first over this product. It's half the price of this, alone still works so much better at adding volume & smells great!
