Finally broke down and purchased an expensive hair dryer that promises great results. So far, I am very happy. Waited until it went on sale and have been using for about 2.5 weeks. I have extremely thick hair that has weird waves that are hard to remove from just blow drying. Hair is just above shoulders and it usually takes a half hour to dry and then 10-15 min to flat iron. While this hasn't drastically cut down on drying time it does help me achieve smoother hair that takes a little less time to straighten. I love the concentrator and use this attachment almost exclusively. The dryer is quite powerful and with the concentrator it is easy to get almost straight hair using just my round brushes. The Scalp Shield setting is helpful as well. It allows me to get really close to the roots without scorching my head - always a bonus. As for the noise, my husband says that it sounds like water is running when he is in the other room. It is definitely quieter than my last one dryer; it has more of a high-pitched sound. The only down-side so far is the cord. I specifically bought this model because it folds (great for travel) but the cord is thick, long, and bulky with a box on it near the plug. As long as the hair dryer holds up for several years, i think I will be very happy with my investment.

I am a Dyson girly so I was a little Leary about this hairdryer. I've been using it for over a month now and I really do love this. It has a lot of power and the fact that it folds up is really great for storage and travel. The attachments are great as well. It dries my hair very quickly. If you don't already have the dyson dryer I'd def pick this one up.
