I bought these for the scars left behind not actually for active acne because I am older I usually just get one or two pimples once in awhile because of adult acne but they last it seems like forever! I thought these were cute you put them on at night and in the morning they are really so much better! I recently had surgery on my face I had a 2 cm tumor taken out of the right side of my face and I have a 2 in scar that goes from my right nostril all the way down to the right side of my mouth it goes along the line of my smile so it Blends in but I just had it done the beginning of January so it's still really early on in it's healing process. Just out of curiosity hoping they would work on my scar I covered my scar with the Stars and left them on pull day by the way they do stick! But your skin has to be very clean and not oily at all! I recommend using a toner before applying stickers. anyway I left these on for the evening and overnight and when I took them off the next day my scar was so much better I was shocked I could not believe it! I didn't want to try Mederma because I know it didn't work very well for my daughter on her scars and it burns and I did not want to put all those chemicals on my face so I've been using vitamin E and the scar Stars and it's working so nicely I also put them on the occasional pimple and they work really well on adult acne! Please don't count these out because a few people didn't have luck with them! When they start working on a pimple they get very gooey so it's kind of gross but that's how you know they're working! that means it's drying out all of the gunk that's in the blemish! But when it's working on a scar it gets a lighter color and you can leave them on this scar for like 24 hours almost like I did and I had such great results I'm going to tell my surgeon about them that's how impressed I am with them! I mean I had nine stitches in a 2 inch incision and it looks so much better and it's only been 6 days since I got my stitches out! the top and bottom of the scar look halfway healed already! And it usually takes a year for a scar like this to heal! also my body rejects any kind of internal stitches and it's horrible because no matter how long they've been in my body they will come out even after twenty years I've had stitches come out and it's painful and it looks disgusting! That's why I wanted to get these cigar Stars on right away to try to pull everything out before it gets embedded in my skin! just give them a try the only thing you have to lose are your scars and blemishes! and I hope they work as well for you as they did for me!
Used to Love These - They Changed the Color Opacity
Soo I'm going to give these three stars now. Unless I received outdated or expired stars, then 'Truly' changed the color opacity on these. They used to be an opaque, vibrant yellow and look really cute. Now they're transparent with an ugly tint of yellow - to give you an idea, this new color and opacity I received reminds me of dry pasta noodles. The stars almost look waxy now. I've purchased at least five or six boxes of these over the last few months and never experienced this. What's the point of having the star shape if your problem area is still showing through? Hopefully I just received a fluke, but I will definitely not be repurchasing if they are now going to be sheer with this ugly tinge of yellow. As far as the adhesiveness and efficacy of this product, I've never had an issue. They've actually stayed on through the night and I tend to move around a bit. I'm just disappointed if these sheer, ugly stars are replacing the old ones.
Waste of money
They're hard to get off of the plastic sheet and ironically super sticky however they will not stay on your face. Since they don't stay on your face, they are completely worthless. Do yourself a favor and buy something else.
Go with Hero Mighty Patches instead
I've purchased these several times before because they kinda worked (but not always), but yesterday I impulsively picked up the Hero Mighty Patches instead. I'm so glad I did, because a painful zit erupted on my neck later that day!
Truly's stars are difficult to apply because of the shape. It's hard to peel them off the plastic and I usually end up bending the star's points. They're also so small that they're difficult to apply; and while they're a cute shape, they're hardly discreet.
Meanwhile, the Mighty Patches cover more area and are much harder to notice. (They also have an invisible version that I haven't tried.) They're easy to apply, and I got much better results than I was able to with Truly's stars.
I don't work for Hero Cosmetics, and up until yesterday, I thought I was pretty loyal to these stars. But I'm here to tell you as a friend, you want the Mighty Patch. Run, don't walk.
Works really well
These work really well to smooth out and shrink blemishes! I have had an annoying hormonal under the skin zit under my chin and after putting one of these stars on and leaving it on for 12 hours, it came to a head! These also stop me from touching/ picking at blemishes and they're so cute! I don't mind if someone sees me in one. If you're looking for hydrocolloid patches where you can really see the gunk that it pulls out, these aren't it. It's hard to see what it pulls out when you take it off. They're also a tiny bit small for some of my larger blemishes. But they're great for small areas you want to shrink quickly. I've already told several friends about these! Now I want all the shapes!
Fav zit patches
I love these. They look adorable so I don't mind running errands with them on, but the effectiveness gets these a 5 star rating. I have very fair skin and scar very easily, it usually takes a long time for my zits to heal. These knock out red marks in about 3 days, I've found. Wear them as long as you possibly can. The difference between wearing them for 8 hours versus 12 hours is stark.
They're not super sticky at first, but they WILL adhere to your skin and stay on all day (I literally wore them to a water park and they did not come off). If you plan on using these you cannot use any oils or heavy moisturizers. You HAVE to use something light with good absorption. I use la roche posay toleriane double repair, for example. Wait about 10 minutes before you let your face hit the pillow to give them time to settle on.
Cute but no
I'm giving these 2 stars b/c if you're looking for cute stickers to cover your tiny zits this is it. They don't stay on overnight and don't absorb that much fluid, rendering them pretty useless, especially compared to other acne patches on the market
