My #1 holy grail hair foam/mousse.

I know this product has a lot of low ratings ... but I'm one customer who is OBSESSED with this foam. To the point where I purchase the travel size too (wish Ulta carried that!) I want to preface this by saying I never tried the formula before this one, so I do not have that for comparison. I have 3...a-3b naturally curly Middle Eastern hair that is not dyed. My hair is high-porosity, medium (not thick nor fine), and medium density. I have naturally super-soft curls that need a lot of help with volume and structure. With no hair products, my hair is super soft and loses definition by the next day. My preference is volume, structure, definition, and a long-lasting hold. As an added side note, I live in a state with very soft water. I am being super honest: this stuff WILL LEAVE YOUR HAIR STIFF. However, if you have hair that is similar to mine and you have the same hair preference as I stated above, I truly believe you will like this product. The key is not to overdo it. Because we have soft water and don't need as much "moisture," I apply a light curl cream first and scrunch it in. I follow up with this foam. I glaze it on my hair and scrunch it in. I also glaze a very TINY amount (like literally a quarter size) on the top of my crown to control flyaways. Then, I diffuse. You are left with super shrunken, very stiff/crunchy, yet weirdly "perfect" (like wig-style perfect) hair. Once my hair is fully dry, and this is the key, I use a hair oil to REALLY scrunch the crunch out of my hair. I then shake out my roots, and am left with massive, voluminous, defined curls. They're gorgeous every single time. Here is the truth: your hair will NOT be supremely soft or touchable, but it won't be really crunchy either IF you use a hair oil/serum to scrunch the crunch out. But it will look incredible all day, every day. I sleep on this, and wake up with perfect hair, and that's exactly what I want. :) This helps me wash my hair less, and helps me with getting ready in the morning, and honestly with curly hair that's all I care about. Here's a final note on the texture: it dispenses like a super fluffy, structured, jelly-like foam. It is not like a creamy, whipped mousse. It is not like a water-based hair foam (similar in texture to foaming hand soap). It is something in the middle. When you emulsify it in your hands, the foam falls immediately and it turns into a thickish, creamy, jelly-like product. The best way I can describe it is as if someone took a hairspray and transformed it into a foam. I hope this was helpful with all of the context above. I truly love this, and after trying 15+ mousses/foams (high-end and drugstore), I come back to this every single time. < 3
