Hydrating Vegan PDRN Serum that Didn't Wow Me

PDRN has been all the rage lately, and I've been a fan of the original formula that are made with salmon DNA. A lot of the Korean skincare brands have been coming out with vegan versions, and I'd like to say that while the vegan ones can mimic some of the effects, they don't deliver the full regener...ative effects the way the salmon DNA does. That said, vegan PDRN can be a great entry point for beginners or those with sensitive skin. The Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Acid Capsule 100 Serum didn't impress me much, and I found the texture rather too watery. This means you need to work in the product quickly as it can easily run down from the face. 💧 I personally disliked how runny this was. I get it, it's supposed to help with easy absorption into the skin, but you need an amazing amount of control to make sure this doesn't fall off your face while applying it. You also need to rub it in pretty quickly. To me, it just looks a setup for wasted product. 💧 This is made with sodium PDRN, not actual salmon DNA. It's a vegan version meant to mimic the real thing. I've tried other vegan PDRN formulations before and found some to be quite effective, but this one was kind of a letdown for me. The only noticeable improvement was a slight boost in hydration, nothing beyond that. 💧 I've known the brand since before the packaging change. The new look feels more generic and is missing that clean, apothecary-inspired aesthetic the older packaging had. While this obviously doesn't affect the formulation itself, I've found myself reaching for it less. The previous packaging gave me a small push of motivation to actually use the product, something I just don't get with this newer version. 💧 As someone who didn't see much change after using this, I don't think I'd be reaching for this one. Because this has hyaluronic acid, you'll need to apply this on a damp face to maximize the hydration effect. 💧 This is great for all skin types, especially sensitive skin, as it's made with sodium based PDRN. It's also alcohol and fragrance-free. It doesn't have a sticky after-feel and its viscosity is similar to water. *I received this complimentary in exchange for an honest review.
