How can a product with so much alcohol increase moisture to hair?

Alcohols are used for a variety of reasons and not all alcohols are the type that can be drying to hair. Cetearyl and Stearyl Alcohols are solids known as fatty alcohols (not drying) which add structure and are used in almost all haircare emulsions. Benzoyl Alcohol is part of our preservative system, allowing us to eliminate older preservatives that are considered formaldehyde donors and/or parabens. And the Isopropyl Alcohol comes to us as part of a conditioning ingredient. During manufacturing and the heated phase of the formulation process, there is little to none left in the formula to have any drying effect once manufactured.
