This stuff is nice! First off, I will say it's not as good as my UD All Nighter BUT it works well and gets the job done. The mister on the nozzle is great, it's a nice fine mist that doesn't leave dots or weird residue on your face after spraying which is a huge plus for me. Also doesn't have a heavy scent which is nice. I took this with me on vacation and it kept my makeup set during an outdoor wedding/reception in the Dominican Republic in 90+ degree weather with 70% humidity, so that's saying something! Living in Texas, I need a setting spray I can trust to lock in my makeup so I don't have to worry about it melting or sweating it off. This stuff isn't completely full proof, I wouldn't say it keeps my makeup completely flawless in 8 hours + of hot weather and the beating sun, however I'll definitely add this to my list of tried and true's. I trust this stuff to keep my makeup nice if I'm going to be outdoors in the heat/sun for a few hours, or if I'm out all day running errands. I would trust this stuff to set event makeup like homecoming or prom because really, you only have a full face of makeup for 4-6 hours, but would go with something stronger if it were my wedding. For everyday makeup, and at a drugstore price, this stuff is a great choice! I received this complimentary for my honest review, but all opinions are my own!
Beauty pays a price!
The first time I tried this product was after applying a full haul of newly purchased items (foundation, concealer etc) so I wasn't sure if it was another product or the spray. Left it on for 9 hours, removed makeup with my usual wash and the burn was unbelievable. I had to wash in intervals because my face felt so raw. The second time I applied my tried and true products that I wear on a daily basis and applied the spray again. This time for only 6 hours just in case it was just that I left it on too long the first time. Again, same situation. That's when I told myself it has to be the spray. There's no way I can get a rash on my eyes and acne on my jawline and cheeks from the makeup because obviously eyes and face use 2 different products so it should either be 1 or the other, right? So, I decided to give it 1 last shot and applied it over my bare face without any makeup, just regular moisturizer and that was a huge mistake. My eyes welted immediately and I can literally see red spots form on my cheeks that eventually turned out to be an acne breakout. So, I got my answer, it was definitely the spray and that was enough for me to chuck the bottle. It's a shame because it keeps your makeup so perfect. People were complimenting my makeup the first 2 times I used it and I know it was the spray because both times I felt my contour and blush etc wasn't as blended as it could have been. If you think you can handle the side effects for a few hours of flawless makeup then try it out. For me, it's not worth it. Maybe I'm just sensitive and that's why I had this reaction but I highly doubt it because everyone who I know personally that has tried this product has had the same issue.
Not the best
When i was new to makeup, i remember buying this setting spray. This didnt do anything for me, but now that Im more advanced at makeup i would try it again. I absolutely love this brand, this setting spray just didnt work for me personally.
Only Setting Spray I Have Liked!
I have tried several setting sprays, and this is the only one that has actually left a matte finish, and helped with makeup longevity. Most sprays either make my face look greasy, or feel sticky, but this does neither. Worth it, and will rebuy!
Great product and very affordable
This works so well. My daughter told me about it and I've been looking for it for months but it was always sold out. Now I know why! I would highly recommend it. It does spray out a little heavy (rather than a light mist) but I pat it lightly and it dries quickly. My makeup stays set all day.
I read a comment about how its basically hairspray for your face, and I absolutely agree
Go-to Make-up Setting Spray
This is my go-to setting spray. I have an oily and sweaty complexion, and a setting spray is an absolute must in my routine year-round. I've been using this spray on/off for the past 3yrs (on/off because I also use another spray I got in an ipsy bag). This holds my make-up really well into the evening. Some shine does get through (but again, I'm always sweating and oily). I haven't used UD all nighter in a long while, so I cannot attest to whether or not this is a dupe. I will say that the spray nozzle is terrible - so what I've done is replace the Maybelline nozzle with the nozzle from a travel size UD spray, and it sprays wonderfully!
