I wasn't sure I liked this gel/mousse at first. When I put it in my "damp" hair per the directions my hair seemed very sticky. I liked the hold, but I don't like when I can't run my fingers through my hair. I started using this on very wet hair and it works much better. No stickiness and still has good hold.

I have fine, low porosity, 3b hair. This mousse has been a game changer for volume, shine, holding curl, and keeping my hair moisturized. When I bought it when it first came out, it took time to find the right amount to use each day. I almost gave up and am so happy that I didn't. I feel like I need a lot more than I should, using two handfuls for my medium length hair, but it's great! I easily get build-up so I use a color-safe clarifying shampoo mixed into my usual one on wash day. I also use a small amount to refresh on non-wash days. This can create build up quickly, so keep that in mind. I will use this forever! Thanks for an amazing product!

This defined my curls but it was incredibly drying. It definitely needs a leave-in conditioner for any moisture. I prefer a 1-step mousse like from Miche...this is NOT a 1 step curl definer. Even while my hair was soaking wet during application there was just no moisture. And my curls did not last to day 3.

Maybe my hair just isn't curly enough for this, or has too high a porosity. I have 2B highlighted hair, and this felt like pouring maple syrup all over my hair once it dried - sticky, tangled, and super filmy. I tried using less product as many reviews suggested, but my bottle wouldn't let me do anything less than the size of a golf ball per pump. I even threw half of the pump away, only to still get overly-filmy results. I will be returning this, for sure.
